Looks like it's December in Palm Springs and it rained the day before. Perfect time to visit with temperatures in the 70's. So many great mid-modern neighborhoods to stroll through and discover. Thanks for the fantastic walking tour.
I went to architecture school and graduated in 1987. My question to my old school is why were such Palm Springs architects overlooked? They maybe dedicate a page or two in the books. Neutra naturally, was mentioned. But I don’t recall hearing about Krisel or Shulman. [-among so many others]. These guys were amazing. They are superhero’s, and hope kids today are studying them. I do hope that we can preserve as many of these gems as possible.
@@hollywoodambience I'M Italian, I love summer 12 mounths per year, I love palms, I love Palms Springs style living. I've been looking for Palm Springs since I was born. You must not believe it, but I lived my previous life there!
the neighborhoods sit right up next to the mountains and the building code in Palm Springs forbids the construction of 2 story structures because people want good views of the mountains. Also there are no lamp posts or light because it distracts from the stars night skies
Palm Springs was developed in the late 40s and later became the Mecca of MCM in the 50s and 60s, because of the Hoover Dam. Unfortunately, the water allocation on the Colorado River between the Four Corner States and Nevada and California has become extremely strained over the decades and even moreso in the last 5 to 10 yrs. Here in Arizona, several suburbs in Phoenix have required new developments to be desert scaped and some older are asking homeowners to become desert scaped as well to conserve water. And there is very little in the development of new golf courses as well. So I do understand your concern of water conservation here, but these homes and lots have existed here in Palm Springs for a very long time and have much less impact in comparison to the cookies cutter homes being built in the rest of the Southwest.
Love that area! 🌴🏞️
The best!
Love the mid century vibe of Palm Springs

Beautiful Palm Springs 🌴 😍.
Like the consistent roof slopes & glass. All the masonry gives the balance. I'm inspired. JIM
Hello Jim, thanks for watching
These houses are beautiful, but these landscapes are awesome, perfect. Thanks for sharing!!! 😃

You dont need to convince me, lived in this neighborhood fifteen years.
@@IanPunter we have a house in twin palms

the weather is great especially during the winter. It gets a little hot in the summer but it's still nice
@@hollywoodambience I love hot very much, think that I run 22 to 35 kms with 30-35 grades farenheit!
@@MarioRossi-dc3nh I love the heat. Are you from Germany? All the germans come to the desert

So many Palm Trees Wow! wish I could move there. So quiet compared to LA. Where are the People at? 😯
it was super cold that afternoon I guess they were in the hot tubs
prolly napping or at happy hour
why are most of the houses one floor? is there a reason?

Which avenue or location in Palm Springs is this?
HI this is in the Twin Palms neighborhood in South Palm Springs
I wonder what the HOA fees are at Palm Springs?
Hello this neighborhood in Palm Springs doesn't have any HOA dues.
No signs of life everything looks closed off and shut in
A couple of those houses front yards , should have fake grass, waisting water
Palm Springs has unlimited water supply
@@hollywoodambience not as the population grows , look at golf courses in Arizona and look at them in the Coachella valley, they are wasting water
