- Here’s a Soft Milk Bread/yeast bread recipe that’s easy to make and results in a fluffy, tender loaf!
Soft Milk Bread Loaf Recipe
Ingredients:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
• 2 tbsp sugar
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tbs instant yeast
• 3/4 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
• 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
• 1 large egg
• 1 tbsp honey (optional)
• Extra 1 egg and butter(for brushing)
Instructions:
1. Activate Yeast:
In a small bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
2. Mix Dough:
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter or oil, egg, and honey. Stir to form a soft dough.
3. Knead:
On a floured surface, knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic (or use a stand mixer with a dough hook).
4. First Rise:
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
5. Shape:
Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased pan.
6. Second Rise:
Cover with a cloth and let the dough rise for 30-45 minutes, until it rises slightly above the pan’s edge.
7. Bake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
8. Cool and Serve:
Let it cool on a wire rack. Brush with melted butter for extra softness.
