Branch's Color is very inconsistent in the later films some times he's very saturated like at the end of the first movie and other times he is back to his grayish color self
I believe one of the animators said Branch is like a mood ring. When he's happy, his colors are brighter and when he's feeling a negative emotion, he gets darker. I think that is a super cute and creative way to make his color palette darker than most Pop Trolls, since his movie 1 "true colors" design was not as popular or liked.

He said that one aspect of the trolls is that they change color depending on their mood and that the most extreme case of this is when they desaturate when they lose hope, he stated that Branch is more prone to have his colors changing since he is the moodiest and grumpies troll. That is the explanation in-universe, out-of-universe is that we all first met him in the first movie as the one gray troll of the village, it was like his trademark, so to still be easily recognizable and know that the troll in the screen is Branch, he is more greyer than the rest, otherwise he would blend in the background with the other colorful trolls. And it is kinda meaningful that they show that depression leaves its mark and you never fully recover from it.
Honestly when this man relaxes enough to have literally any other facial expression besides that trademark grumpy face from the first movie, he turns right back into the babygurl he truly is deep down inside. Despite trying his hardest at 1:53 to be nonchalant, all it takes is eye contact with Poppy for Branch’s (poor) facade to immediately crumble. For a troll who prides himself on being unimpressed by everyone else’s antics, he’s the most nervous and insecure one, especially when it comes to being open with Poppy. Boy can confess his love to her multiple times but has no idea how to be in a relationship. You can’t help but say “aww”.

I Hope so I need more to be done to resolve the bro zone issues the third film did not do it for me I mean they literally did nothing to redeem themselves. I still wanna see him properly call them out on leaving him and their Grandma and never coming back ( except for JD ) as even in the big argument scene in the Third film he only called them out on Treating him like a kid he didn't mention any of the other actual serous stuff. so I'd like to see him still feeling somewhat uneasy around them in the future and maybe his bros do see him properly break down over the past not just because of them but also being reminded of their Grandma finally seeing him more vulnerable and almost childlike. and they comfort him this time assuring him he isn't alone to deal with it anymore like he was as a kid which would be cute to see imo.

Branch is literally one of the most intelligent and rational characters and is the first to speak up whenever he has an issue with something. He isn't stupid, he just loves poppy and has changed as a person.

Basically it’s a rather crass way of saying it’s too small already.

He came around to them all by the end of the movie because no shit he wants his brothers in his life even if they did him dirty like that, he loves them no matter what deep down even if he doesnt say so. Also, its a kids movie. You're surprised he forgave them at the end? What are you expecting?
