This is unbelievably charming. It was already a really fun depiction of the different scenes, with Mumbo hitting Grian, and them trying to fit on the rocket, and the shots of Boatem with all the animals and the buildings were great. But the rocket snapping and falling as well is such a good touch, and it fits so well! The flying scene with all of them in the void is delightful, with how they all move in the vastness, and the wing movements too! This was just amazing, I'm such a big fan of your rendition here, it makes me very happy

@@peanut3438 The watchers were a group from the evo SMP, a SMP Grian hosted before joining HC that had people like Jimmy, Martyn, Pearl, BigB, etc. In it. The premise was the world of Evo began in beta version, and eventually, they started discovering weird bedrock structures with random stuff inside it. They figured out they were coordinates, followed them, found a portal which then updated the world, and so they had to keep finding portals to update the world, they discovered these clues were being left by a group of omnipresent God like beings known as the watchers. Over time they learn more about them and the watchers reward and punish a few people (Zee got a chest of loads of stuff because he followed their rules while Grian ended up getting obsidian over every single one of his chests because he got greedy) eventually they reach the end update and after killing the dragon a special end screen is played with the Watchers, Grian then ends up being "taken" to become a watcher for unknown reasons, so that's where watcher lore comes from. Later on in Last Life, Martyn started to actually bring Watcher lore back, he has a livestream vod where he explains all the lore and stuff, and the Grian in last life is canonically (to Martyns perspective) the same character as Watcher Grian, so that's why there ended up being a sudden influx of watcher stuff. Related to this- Watchers are comparable to biblically accurate angels, according to Martyn. The only defining feature is a third eye, nobody really knows what they look like and every description is different from the other. So it's mostly up to fan interpretations, you'll see a lot of designs with wings and a mask though, mainly due to the more popular watcher fanfics like ATUS making that interpretation incredibly mainstream, but the masks aren't canon. And the void thing is because when there are no SMPS the characters all go back into their home realm, which at least in C!Martyns case is an infinite void.

I love the detail of how they all have different types of wings. Grian of course has his traditional bird-like wings, because somehow the fandom collectively came to the conclusion that he has parrot wings (probably because of the Pesky Bird running gag), Scar has bat-like wings (which feels fitting since he often plays his Minecraft character as Lawful Evil), Mumbo having dragonfly wings, Pearl having either butterfly or moth wings (hard to tell without color), and Impulse having...... well actually I'm not really sure what Impulse's wings are. They're not dragonfly wings like Mumbo's, because not all four wings are the same size, but they're too narrow to be butterfly/moth wings like Pearl's. Fairy wings? That's my best guess. Whatever they are, I like the creativity of everyone getting their own unique wings.

Impulse's wings are designed after the Black and Yellow Lichen Moth, no deeper reason than that I thought the colours fit him. Pearl's are based on the Cecropia Moth because of the moon-like eye-spots on it's wings. Mumbo' s wings are mechanical, hence connected to a box he is carrying on his back, I imagine it to look like the wings of a species of Burnet moth called the Pompelon marginata (Which is blue irl, but I envision it to be red, as if his wings are powered by redstone). Scar's wings are Vex wings, which is a design I was first introduced to be Wasyago (Tumblr/insta). Much love for your comment!
Scar is associated to vexes a lot because of season 6 and the vexcorp actually, which are beautifully drawn. Grian gained wings from a mixture of that gag and the Watchers aus from Evo SMP

Absolutely gorgeous and inspired! I especially love how you gave each Boatem member a different type of wing! I love all of the angsty animatics that have been coming out about the end of the season (can't get enough of them!) but I adored this more playful and whimsical one! I am a fan of the watcher!grian headcanon and thus I depicted him watching over the others at the end as sort of non-human creature who doesn't need the helmet to survive the void! It's a relatively popular concept on tumblr regarding Boatem's ending I think! (at least on my tumblr dashboard)
