  • I extend my gratitude to Prof. Christoph von Furer-Haimendorf, an Austrian anthropologist, for his pioneering work on Nepal's Sherpa community in the Khumbu Region beneath Mount Everest. His first book shed light on their way of life, and he also captured numerous photos and cine footage, which are invaluable resources. This footage serves as a treasure trove for younger Sherpas, allowing them to glimpse into the lives of our ancestors, including my parents, uncles, aunts, and many other relatives who are no longer with us. The footage showcased here captures a Sherpa wedding between 1957-61.
