I actually don't think that IDF had a legal obligation to take extraordinary steps and meticulously look out for the welfare of the Gazans. It's the Gazans who invaded Israel and furthermore committed heinous depraved atrocities which they posted and rejoiced over . The IDF has not invaded Gaza , they have entered Gaza in hot pursuit of criminals who took hostages. The criminals have refused for 8 months to return the hostages to Israel and they refuse to surrender. On this subject, I heartily recommend a track I discovered by accident (it appeared in my 'recommended' feed) by a British band called UNIT. The track is A Tribute To The Israeli Defence Force and it is excellent - tuneful and forceful without being bombastic combined with a lovely lyric. I know next to nothing about the group but on investigation I see they've recorded a whole batch of Jewish related tracks such as Pesach, Yom Kippur, Bar Mitzvah, Israel Is Real, The 613 Mitzvot and probably others I don’t know about yet. Some of them feature Rabbi Moshe Bryski which is definitely a recommendation in itself.

No. They don't want to take them in because except for Jordan, all the countries surrounding Gaza have been holding people who had fled/gone out of the way as told by the Arab League during the first war in 1948, trusting the promise that after the Jews would have been thrown into the sea, they would return to their houses and receive citizenship according to their location - have been holding these people in refugee camps that have turned into cities a long time ago, WITHOUT the promised citizenship, without any rights, for 76 years! There is a lot of anger in these places, and not only against Israel, but also against the states who haven't kept their promise of giving citizenship to whoever heeded their advice. I actually don't think that IDF had a legal obligation to take extraordinary steps and meticulously look out for the welfare of the Gazans. It's the Gazans who invaded Israel and furthermore committed heinous depraved atrocities which they posted and rejoiced over . The IDF has not invaded Gaza , they have entered Gaza in hot pursuit of criminals who took hostages. The criminals have refused for 8 months to return the hostages to Israel and they refuse to surrender. Hamsass started a war , the obligation was on hamsass to prepare in advance for contingency to cover welfare of their own civilians.

The elephant in the room is that Hamas is the armed forces of the Gazan civilians. The Gazan civilians fully support their armed forces just as we support our own. The Gazan civilians were dancing in the streets of Gaza on October7th and cheering for Hamas as seen on video.
I understand there were hundreds of Hamas that came out shooting into streets when they realized the IDF were there for the hostages. So I don’t think most were civilians.

On this subject, I heartily recommend a track I discovered by accident (it appeared in my 'recommended' feed) by a British band called UNIT. The track is A Tribute To The Israeli Defence Force and it is excellent - tuneful and forceful without being bombastic combined with a lovely lyric. I know next to nothing about the group but on investigation I see they've recorded a whole batch of Jewish related tracks such as Pesach, Yom Kippur, Bar Mitzvah, Israel Is Real, The 613 Mitzvot and probably others I don’t know about yet. Some of them feature Rabbi Moshe Bryski which is definitely a recommendation in itself.
