- Aralaguppe Chennakeshava temple Tumakur tourism Karnataka tourism temples of Karnataka.The Chennakeshava temple,is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. The Chennakeshawa temple was built around 1250 during the rule of the Hoysala Empire King Vira Someshwara in the Hoysala style. The Chennakeshava temple is a protected monument under the Karnataka state division of the Archaeological Survey of India. The Chennakeshava temple is located in Aralaguppe, a small town in Karnataka state, India. Aralaguppe is a place in Tiptur taluk, of Tumkur district. Aralaguppe is 6 km from Banasandra railway station and 60 km from the city of Hassan.
The Chennakeshava temple is a ekakuta (single shrine with a tower). Starting from the top, the friezes depict hansa (birds) in the first frieze, makara (aquatic monsters) in the second, epics and other stories in the third (which in this case is from the Hindu epic Ramayana and stories of Krishna), leafy scrolls in the fourth, horses in the fifth and elephants at the bottom. The cella (sanctum) contains an image of Keshava (a version of the Hindu god Krishna) raised on a large pedestal. The image of Vishnu in the garbhagriha is magnificent. Tumakur tourism and Karnataka tourism has various temples and tourist places to see. The ancient Stone carved temples of Hoysala period are a major attraction.

Tumkur and Kolar Districts were ruled by NoLambas approximately between 750 AD through 1000 AD. The Aralguppe temple shows a mixture of styles of architecture of the NoLambas and their successor, the HoysalaLs. The former emphasized intricate carving in the interior of ceilings, expressing flower motives and rangoli designs. The HoysaLas, as is well-known laid emphasis on the carvings of deities inside and outside. Unfortunately, not one of the idols have been spared by the destructive hands of . . . . the unmentionbale savages. Not a single face has been spared.

Amazing sculpture, though, I am from Tumakuru, I never visited this place, thanks, u can also visit Kaidala near gulur, Tumakuru city, sthala Purana: Amara Shilpi Jakanachari who amputed his right hand when his son showed him the manduka in Chennakeshava beluru temple, he got back his hand in Kaidala after keshava temple was constructed under his supervision here. A pure delight to watch this. Welldone Sudhesh ji, the sheer beauty of the temple, intricate designing of the sculpture it is marvelous, I mean kind of the detailing which went into making this temple is tremendous, painstakingly done with the utmost care, love and above all perfection. No doubt, there is a defacement of the faces and bodies by many unknown people who don't like Hinduism. Nevertheless, this is a timeless beauty. Exactly with many people, I do agree that Karnataka govt. should promote this and also must rope some film personalities to encourage such temple visits by common people and make sure to preserve, though they must be preserving. But yet I think here for the people in the North of India, we are not aware of these timeless beauties which exist in our country. The way louver and much more work of art is given so much of upliftment by govt. of different countries likewise here in India also these temples, monuments, and castles must be promoted and projected so as not only to attract the visitors, tourists but also can be a source of income for the localities and thereby can generate income too for one and all. The last thing, keep on shooting such videos, Sudhesh Ji. The wonderful shooting was done with patience and dedication. Thanks a lot from the bottom of the heart.

Unfortunately, photography is not permitted here any more. As per ASI rules, photography of the outside walls is freely permitted. When I visited this temple in 2018, the priest allowed me to photograph the outside walls.
I visited this temple again last month, and this time there was a very abusive old man who would not allow me to use my camera. Even after the priest told him not to interfere, this old man kept following me and shouting at me. He abused the priest as well. And finally, drove me and the priest out of the temple and locked the gate!
There is no camera restriction as per ASIs updated rules.. unfortunately these people make their own false rules.. Even I have faced these problems here and at many places
