Out of context, "every second counts" sounds like really basic corporate work propaganda, but as you watch the episode and see Richie talk with the head chef, you learn that the saying comes from a pretty cool and loving personal experience of hers and her father's letters.

Richie's transformation after he starts to get it is so amazing to watch. I really thought the writers would have had him be an antagonist for the show but instead he stepped up and became one of my favorite characters. Great writing, great acting, and a great show!

Same. A lesser show would have tried to replicate a 'Sopranos'-style storyline of having a major death at the end of the season, and after watching a few episodes of Season 2 of 'The Bear,' I was thinking it would be the likely suicide of Richie. Kudos to the writers for subverting expectations.

Being able to stay calm in hectic situations and STILL being sociable and hospitable is an extremely important skill. Glad to see Richie figure that out, along with finding a purpose in life and having respect for passion and work ethic.

Definitely my favourite episode so far! Experiencing stepping up to the big leagues through Richie, and seeing his inevitable growth and the better sides of his character (warmth, humour, excitement...) was just amazing. Visually stunning as always, but this episode felt a notch above the rest. Which I think was kinda the point, particularly after the chaos and intensity, not to mention outright mess that was Fish. (also an amazing episode tho). Love this series!

This episode and "Fishes" are two of the most amazing episodes in TV broadcast history. I am so happy Ebon is winning for his portrayal of Ritchie. The Emmy's were only for season 1. Ebon should win again for Ritchie's character arc this season. Everyone else should too, but Ebon deserves it all for the season 2 Ritchie glow-up! Thank you so much for bringing this show and these characters to the screen!

      Strongly disagree
IMO she was a star WAY over acting. An unknown or lesser known actor would have been more believable in the role. Same with S.Paulson.
      Bob Odenkirk was great
      Mulvaney meh
Ebon who plays Richie should DEFINITELY get an emmy nom

As a server this is my most loved episode from season 2, Richie's transformation to become a better man for himself is so heart inspiring that Ebon Moss-Bachrach did an amazing job bring this character to life. Cant wait for another season and I want to see this man Richie get a Queen next season while helping Carmen with his relationship and troubles with the restraunt. Please keep this content coming.
