$30m/year is insane for Alonso, let him go. He screwed himself by not taking that 7/158, he'll never get that money without a huge turn around in performance. The first baseman market isn't moneyball era level anymore.
@@johnstrawb3521 Cohen will jump in only when necessary. I don't see him as a meddling owner and has full trust with Sterns and his team. If you look at the results last year, there's no reason for Cohen to not trust them. Soto and potentially Vladdy might be exceptions to this but I'm also sure Sterns would love to add those players and more than happy to have an owner that can push the envelope on the financial side.
Pete got greedy. He turned down a very good deal. If his agent told him to do this, it was bad advice. Of course Pete regrets it. He had a long term proposal and blew it.
Why on earth would the Mets pay $30 million a year for a first baseman in decline for the last two years? Don’t hold your breath for anyone to pay him more. He’s a bad bet to bet on himself; he has failed to perform at the same level since declining the more than fair offer in 2023.
Don’t think it makes a difference about Boras. MK needs to talk about individual players and how they play the game not a players salary demands Soto or no Soto’s contract. Don’t care about how much money players make just how they play and who they play for.
Pete's a sucker for those cutters up and away and the sliders down and 2 feet off the corner. No secret and he's been exposed. I don't think Pete will see another season with more than 30-35 dingers.
I think there making a big mistake not signing him. He hit 53 homeruns in 2019. I think he's going to have a big year in 2025. Big mistake by David Stern. Alonso had a great playoff. Where are they going to make up the difference
Why are you singling out Alonso and his salary demands? There are still a lot of free agents out there who haven’t signed a contract yet. This is a player’s lively hood your exposing to the public. This should be between Alonso and the Mets.
This interview does have a tone as if he was Alonso’s spokesperson 😂
Good ole heyman, the boris mouth piece.
That is all he ever was, nothing more than that.
Alonso: 2.1 fWAR in 2024, in steep decline, but sure, give him 3/90m?
Heyman's an embarrassment.
We been told for years to look out for the Jays.......we are still waiting.

Interview with someone who doesn't know or can't confirm on anything...very productive interview
Ridiculous. If Cohen 'jumps in' Stearns might quit. He didn't move to NY to become GM of a team where the owner takes over on all big contracts.

Can’t wait for Vlad Jr, bye Pete
With the Mets now having Cohen as the owner, and Soto for 15 years, I'd do whatever I could to be on that team
So you’re saying you want to be a loser?
Alonso should have taken 7/158 when idiot son Billy Eppler was playing GM.
Nlcs and got better.. so nice try
Mets need to shift gears to Bregmann
Nah..Bergman doesn't translate to citi field..I would go a acuna at third vientos at 1st..in corporate young guys until vlad hopefully comes

Roki is heading to the Dodgers
Cohen says he wants players that want to be Mets and Alonso want to be a Met so what the issue uncle Steve
Wanting to be somewhere doesn't necessarily translate to winning son
Idiocy. The Mets won the negotiation by NOT signing Alonso and by NOT being stuck with Alonso for the next 3, 4, 5, 6 years.

Yeah but this is the second met to get burn because of boras
The agents leak these numbers intentionally.
Are the Mets actually gonna add more power to lineup or is Baty really their pick hope not do they actually still have a chance at Alonso
Why spend a boat load$$$ in soto..and not provide protection in the lineup.....soto's numbers would be much better with Alonso protecting him....
Protection is coming..and the condom is vlad
"Pete certainly isn't Soto..." Even Soto isn't Soto.... I think they'll live to regret dumping that much dough onto Soto.... talk about an overpay...
Found the Yankees fan haha
46 mill a year will seem like a steal in 4 years yo
. U obviously are not futuristic
