I'm not a huge soccer head, but everytime I check in on my Austin FC highlights the keeper seems to always make huge saves. Hats off to that guy, seems to keep them in a lot of games. Is he one of the better keepers in MLS?
He is good, fan favorite which helps. Personally think he has one questionable play with his distribution a game but honestly even with that definitely top 5
I personally think he will either get a big contract from Austin FC or will get traded for a big amount of cash. He’s really good and only getting better.

we had 800+ fans, maybe 1000 which is very respectable for the MLS. Also traveling 5 countries away is comparable to traveling a few states away, which our fans do. It's just not as popular of a sport but it sure is growing in cities in Austin.

FCD’s front office does their supporters section so dirty. But yeah the mics are placed near our section and the FCD fans were put in the furthest corner where no cameras can see and it’s really a shame their club does them like that
I was at the stadium , El Matador was pretty loud last night you just can’t see it because they have them in a lonely corner which is not shown on TV, so it’s easy to assume that all the noise came from Los Verdes. On top of that, the front office doesn’t support El Matador so it’s really hard to grow your supporter section when your own front office doesn’t even want you in the stadium.
There seems to be more Austin supporters then Dallas. It baffles me how habitually horrible the support for FC Dallas has been. As a fan of the MLS it’s more sad and disappointing then anything else.
Basic stadium in the middle of nowhere, you have to take a toll road to get there, super hot, no amenities, among suburbanites who don’t care about soccer, bare minimum ownership that doesn’t invest, etc. etc. etc.

Dallas and Houston got teams because MLS was lazy thinking putting teams in places with big Mexican population would mean huge attendances. The irony is Austin the place with lowest Mexican population in Texas is the stadium that sells out all the time. Soccer is a global sport, not just a Mexican sport as some Americans seem to think. MLS is most successful when it is inclusive of everyone and pandering to the Mexican community only has failed so much. Chivas USA was flop in the MLS who had no fans going to games because again MLS was lazy and tried to pander to Mexicans too much. They rebranded the team and made it more about LA and all the communities and now it is booming team with a stadium full of fans every home game.
I'm not 100% sure what the main reason is behind the low attendance. But for me personally, the FC Dallas games being in Frisco sucks. I hate traveling there from Fort Worth and I wonder if they should have a Fort Worth FC team instead haha

Last week I said Dallas and Houston have the worst fans in MLS because they their stadium is always only a quarter full. And a Dallas fan replied commented and claimed I was an idiot and that the attendance was way up on previous seasons. Is this way up attendance with many empty seats, in a Texas derby!! This is why I never click or watch the highlights of a Dallas or Houston home game. No fans, no passion for soccer. MLS stop being lazy and think putting a team in place with lots of Mexicans is gonna mean the team is going to be popular. This has clearly backfired with Houston and Dallas and it is Austin the least Mexican part of Texas that has the sold out crowds. Soccer is not just a Mexican sport, it is a global sport and the teams with the best support MLS are inclusive and don't pander to one community.
I get what you are saying (austin FC fan here, and we do pander/embrace very much to the Hispanic community in austin as well). But I think saying that's the problem isnt right. I will only speak to Houston since I live there. The problem isnt that the dynamo "panders" to the Hispanic community, it's that the teams owners suck at promoting. The team has been ass for awhile, the tickets are expensive, the stadium is old, and their is NO bond between the team and the community. Its run like a business when sports is a culture thing.
Tbh both Fc “Dallas” and Dynamo are run more like a business and it seems like they don’t care about the fans. Austin Fc has proven to be different, they actually care about their fans, they even built a big supporter section for them and they actually know how to promote them. if lima would have went 100 percent for just that one play at 3:00 we could have walked away with 3 points but he gave up shows alot about him as a player, plus 4 chances after to try and stop the Dallas goal but that was great team play from them the usmnt players as expected.
