So what happens to passengers who are sent to other airports? Are they stuck or do y'all make arrangements to get them back where they belong? And what if they had a connecting flight they now missed?
Thats a really good question! The process really depends on the operation at that time. If its a temporary diversion, they tend to leave the passengers on the plane and take off to the original destination when the airport opens back up. If its the end of the day or a long time closure (like weather, etc) , they will usually have to rebook the passengers for the following day. Regardless of the situation, we never strand the passengers, we always get the passenger to the final destination. It just depends on the situation at the time.
Did you have enough fuel to land in Waco or Love Field?
We ended up landing in Austin but we circled for quite a long time.
