Sting is such an excellent artist. His songs are timeless ✨️ 👌.
Great song from one of Sting's best solo albums!
The full interviews with Billboard Magazine's Timothy White ("The Timothy White Sessions") are worth tracking down as he did a great job talking with Sting about music composition and specific songs, which the band would then play (there were a few where they just played the album version and returned to talk about it. Random fun facts: "If I Ever Lose My Faith" fades in because Timothy White was introducing the show while the band was playing, and "Be Bop A Lula" was a spontaneous improvisation stemming from a conversation about Sting's early musical influences - he asks the band "Shall we try it?" and they quickly jump in. David Sancious on piano, Vinnie Colaiuta on drums, and Dominic Miller on guitar - it was my personal favorite lineup for Sting's live bands; they were untouchable.

Around the time of this recording, Valentines Day Concert at the Arie Crown Theater in Chicago. Sting welcomed many attendees to sit on the floor next to the stage. Most intimate concert I ever attended. Many moons ago...
Roman, I am almost certain this was played live on WXRT one evening in studio live. Years later I found this disc in Europe shopping in a little record shop. If I’m wrong please correct me
The test of good songs and musicianship is how the audio sounds right off the board with no editing, processing, or other tweaks. This is one of the best band line-ups.
Seen the Police Syncronicity tour in KC and Sting on the Soul Cages tour in OKC. I feel very fortunate to have seen him during both of these periods when he was at his best.

Notes: Tracks 1-7 were recorded during Sting's second Timothy White Session in June 1993. This was a couple of months after the release of the album Ten Summoner's Tales (which was released in March 1993). Tracks 8-16 were recorded during Sting's first Timothy White Session in March 1991. Both sessions were recorded in Chicago and were broadcasted by several U.S. radio stations.

Its a bootleg made from a live on air performance in studio on WXRT Chicago, 93.1. I found this disc a few years later in Esche, Luxembourg in a little record shop. Blows me away!

@@timtea3727 I have a version of this on CD entitled 'Sting Chicago '91' that I bought in a little record shop in Austria back in 1992. It doesn't contain any of the songs from Ten Summoner's Tales. I prefer the CD version because it doesn't fade out any of the songs like this version.

I have been an ardent David Sancious fan since 1975 when he left Bruce Springsteen's band to pursue his jazz-rock fusion styles. I saw him in 1982 with YES singer JON ANDERSON; 1986 with Peter Gabriel; here he is with ole Sting-Go!
I saw the 10 Summoners Tales show, March, 1994 Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
That has been the only Sting/ Police show I attended.
I was born in 1955- I think I lucked out with birth timing and the evolution of popular music!
Some lives are nah and this one is showing the grEatness of art and talent!

There was a video from 1991 Disney channel of stings 40th birthday concert that was incredible with this line up....I recorded it, to this day still watch it...😊
Bought this CD circa 1994. I believe the first half is from 1993 and the Ten Summoners Tales sessions. The second half is from 1991 and The Soul Cages sessions. Good stuff.

Hacia tiempo que no escuchaba un concierto de Sting que me llenara tanto: intimo, fresco, irresistible; como en los viejos tiempos... jazz de fondo de cuatro músicos y una gran voz, se me ocurren un montón de canciones de Sting que cobrarían de nuevo vida. Con seguridad el mejor concierto desde Bring on the night, que ya es decir.

Wow, just wow! Probably the best versions of some of his songs, clear , delicate, jazzy, grooving. A bit sad Sting didn't dare to take a chance on singing "The wind cries mary"
Third Eye I got to see this lineup on The Soul Cages Tour. I didn’t know who was going to be playing with him. When I saw Vinnie come out on stage I knew it was gonna be a good night!
There's a cut on a Jimi Hendrix tribute cd called "In from the storm" where Sting sang "The wind cries mary" w/ Vinnie, Dom Miller and John McLaughlin.

Could be wrong, but I guess part of what Joe meant was about the adventurous part of it, the almost religious and joyful extraction of a concrete artifact from it's sleeve. Good thing vinyl is back, with the warmth of it's sound as opposed to, sorry to say it, shit/dead digital sound

It was not a rehearsal. I live in Chicago and remember this live in studio on WXRT 93.1. A few years later I found this bootleg while traveling in Europe. Its of my prized music possessions.
