    Thank you for the video. You provided a good explanation of the sling. As a novice, I got some good pointers....!

    Nice little subtle touch on form. I tried it out and I totally agree with it for a low side arm. Nicely done

    Cool discovery man! Never heard anyone say 'Throw the release cord'. I'll have to try it out. 👍

    Dude! Check out your throw at 3:04, 3:52, and 3:56....super straight. Look at the frame when you release...the release cord is in front of the retention cord...and no annoying spin!!! Not sure what is different, but if you can figure out how to do it when you go over the top...🔥🔥

      Also, I'll make you a natural fiber balearic that you can beat up! One that you can slam against the ground as much as you want!😆

      The spin is a good thing tho?

    • @IronGoober
      @IronGoober 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SlingAndStones my meaning was that the spin that is present doesn't cause it to curve (because the spin axis is parallel to the direction of travel)

    • @SlingAndStones
      @SlingAndStones 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @IronGoober I see, you mean it's stable?

    • @IronGoober
      @IronGoober 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SlingAndStones I mean it isn't curving right or left due to the Magnus effect. The Magnus effect was minimized due to the spin axis direction.

    It is exactly like javelin thrown. the Valearic slinger extends backwards his arm right before the shot.

    What is the white stuff at the end of the sling? is the tail treated with a wax or oil of some sort or is that the natural color of the plant fibers

    • @BorjBoy
      @BorjBoy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yo i recommend the archaic arms videos on the balearic sling but as far as im aware it's a stronger type of fibre woven in at the end to dissipate the force (like a whip tassel)

    The satisfying part is when he hits the target, and then he catches the ball as it bounced back.

    You prob already figured it out... But for the side arm throw to get it to crack it helps to rotate your thumb towards the throw as you release

    • @SlingAndStones
      @SlingAndStones 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Could you elaborate? I'm a little confused what you mean.

    • @davidboyce2007

      @@SlingAndStones like if you turn your palm down towards the ground before you release vs upwards or facing forwards. Each seems to have a unique effect.

    • @SlingAndStones
      @SlingAndStones 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @davidboyce2007 ohhh i see. I keep it upward but I may try a downward facing thumb release.

      @@SlingAndStones one causes the release cord to accelerate towards the inside of the swing circle and one to the outside. I think to the outside makes it crack easier because it kind of magnifies the whipping effect

    Historically I wonder which came first, the knot or the no knot version? I'm guessing the no knot version and I'm also guessing that waaay back then they were having the same learning curve and frustrations as now

    Imagine a baseball game where the ball is thrown with a sling.. the fastest ball throw is 46 m/s, I think a sling will give about 70-80 meters per second

    I feel like heavier and stiffer slings are better for heavier ammo
