Sorry folks, no new Tues Your Own Adventure this week due to prior engagements! YES, this is last week's episode reuploaded. We got caught out by the all-seeing wrathful eyes of TH-cam's vengeful watcher, Alfred Gorithm... by which I mean the original video got flagged by TH-cam's machine algorithm and demonetised so we've had to rerelease it. We'll be back next week with a new episode though, so see you there! - Psy & Jules
THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING! Not because I just rewatched a TYOA episode, but because until I read this message.... I thought I had traveled through time.
I'm kind of a DAII apologist, they did two things awesome: there's the active sustained team buffs, which you could turn on & off at will and boost your team to near godhood; and the healer mage specialization, which allowed you to use a bunch of different skills to restore health to your team when needed. The levels were cookie-cutter and not being able to pick your character's race wasn't great, sure; but take the sustained buffs and the healer mage spec, and put them in a better game like inquisition, and it would've been pretty cool.
Those of us who enjoyed Dragon Age 2 got to enjoy the series just a little bit longer than most. Dragon Age Inquisition is where the series lost my love.
DAII was disappointing, but not bad. I remember being annoyed my first play through because I kept expecting to leave Kirkwall at some point, but when Act III popped up, I realized that wasn't happening. And there really wasn't a main story, more like two or three stories loosely tied together. But when I returned to the game later on, I really appreciated it a lot more, mostly for the companion characters, and it's really fun to play as a smart-ass female Hawk.
Why would you put inquisition on the thumbnail? Inquisition was a great game. In fact the final bosses actually the weakest part of the game so this really makes no sense.
Jules! Glassing is from Halo, 40k has *Exterminatus.* Glassing requires multiple ships, Exterminatus requires as few as one, if the preferred method of exterminating life permanently on the planet is via the Life Eater virus... Thought I was going mad, that I've somehow dreamt that this episode had already aired... I just read the pinned comment. No worries, I'm not crazy... yet.
I loooove Dragon Age 2, it's my favorite in the franchise! But I prefer the final bossfight over the one against Coryphenus (or whatever Sera calls him).
Big Pidge is a cool guy and all, but can we bring back some old friends as well? Beef Gate comes to mind, we can have him charge in to headbutt the egg but stopped at the last minute by Big Pidge. Also Slime Jesus and Beelzeblob haven’t made an appearance in a while.
My wife and I absolutely loved Dragon Age 2, and we played all the other games in the series through Inquisition (couldn't pay me to go back to Bioware now). My wife isn't as skilled with these kinds of games as I am and the combat system enabled her to get through it without giving up. She barely finished Origins and never finished Inquisition. And the biggest criticism that I always see about it "not making sense" that enemies jump in out of nowhere DOES make sense within the story. Varric is telling it and clearly embellishing the details, in a more subtle way than with his personal quest. But the story is where DA2 really shines. Act 2 in particular is just gut punch after gut punch. It's the only game in the series that I still go back and replay.
I agree I enjoyed DA2, my only complaint was that they stripped down the rpg elements especially for your squad mates. EA did the same with Mass Effect 2. Great games but the rpg elements were reduced to marketing bullet points.
1:47 In Warhammer 40k it is called "Exterminatus". _Maybe_ "Edict of Obliteration". Glassing as a term is pretty generic, but it does feature prominently in HALO.
Dragon Age II was the first game that I played in the series, which I think was good. The combat was easy for me to get a hang of and the small world was a good introduction, so it helped me learn the lore and go back to Dragon Age with greater understanding. I enjoyed it so much that I would do scenes multiple times so I could record the character reactions and update the fan Wiki.
I remember how hard Corypheus was in DA2 that when I was going into the fight in DA3 I prepared my team and got ready for a slug fest only to wipe the floor with him. If he only fought me the same way he did with Hawk I would have been in trouble.
The worst movie I can think of, well Monster-A-Go-Go was so bad, it's hard to watch even with MST3K and it's actually worse than Manos Hands of Fate That's hardly the final boss in Dragon Age 2, at least when I play it. I always do Legacy in Act 2 before Lady Hawke had a loss in her family, I do Mark of the Assassin in Act 3 after I see Leliana at the keep. Now that Legacy boss does show up in the better following game
Steam games like older games Aero GPX - F-Zero Azure Striker Gunvolt - Megaman X Battlestar asteroids - Asteroids Cassette Beasts - Pokemon Freedom Planet - genesis era Sonic Spark the Jester - more sonic? Yars Rising - Super Metrois
@@edaraujo2169 There aren't many if you just play the episodes' main stories, it's insanely exaggerated online. Especially if you play on 360, the big ones last 10 seconds that's nothing lol. It is a baffling issue when you do Town Missions but barely noticable on casual runs.
@KOTSOSMC2002 on that we can agree. It is extremely exaggerated. I do have a copy in my xbox 360 as well as a copy of Sonic Unleashed, since Sonic Team doesn't look interested in doing a PC port. BTW this exaggeration syndrome is the same with the new Dragon Age. Some people just can't enjoy a game, am I right?
I loved darkvoid! It was such a creative game that we wouldn't see anything else like it until Anthem. Well I guess there are iron man games but you don't really hear about them now do you? Its a shame that Dark void could have been so much better but the studio literally just ran out of money 2/3 into development. There's a reason is feeling like you missed something when you just jump to the final boss after getting out of a monsters stomach...because you are and its the last third of the game. This was also meant to have multiplayer originally and could you imagine having a standard shoot out with another player only for them to jump off a ledge forcing you to having to follow and engage into a dogfight in the sky's to finish them off only to find they are far better at flying then they are at normal pvp. Also I enjoyed Re6. Not so much the story but the combat system that is so fun and unique once you figure out how much freedom is gives you. Honestly if likely would have been better expected if it wasn't a main Re game and was a side story.
Hated remnant 2 . Felt like so much missed opportunity . The difficulty spike and design of the boss was incredible despite the fact that it was slightly clunky and frustrating
Pokemon XY The battles are just fine but the Team Flare guy could've been a powerful character who stayed with us. Tormented by finity - as in the finite nature of all things - he's decided to forcibly stop time itself so the world doesn't have to suffer the tragedy of losing even one more beautiful thing, human, Pokemon, or simple flowers in the wild. But he gets second billing to some big guy with a poke friend who is never explained, and even that whole plot is crammed between the 7th and 8th gyms. Poor Ly...onel...? I don't know. They made him so boring I didn't remember his name.
Speaking of bad movies, check out Things from 1989. There is no redemption with it. But for something of quality, watch For Your Height Only, It's a 007 ripoff that is an awesome and fun watch.
See, I'm Actually Playing BACK THROUGH DA2 Currently...and WHILE Yes, the Actual GamePlay Sections are Stunted, The Story and Writing ARE Pretty Solid. YES, They DEFINITELY Could Have Benefited from More Dev Time, Along with The ACTUAL GAMEPLAY, but ALSO, I'm Sure I'm NOT THE ONLY ONE Suddenly Realizing DA2 WASN'T THAT BAD in The Wake of "VeilGuard"...Ugh
DA2 has a lot of flaws. Absolutely. And still it is the one with by far the most compelling story. l also really enjoyed the elf redesigns. I would not say no to a remake (preferably still with a stylized aesthetic. The realism attempted in Inquisition was exhausting to watch).
I urge you to turn some of the incredible positivity you show toward your fans on yourself and change that tagline to: “Awesomely named and awesomely hosted.” Do it! 😎
That Dragon Age II fight was not in the base game. He was the last boss of a DLC and the last boss of Inquisition. You got things a little mixed up there. As for DAII being terrible... I feel conflicted. There are so many terrible things in the game, but I had a lot of fun with the combat and I really liked my companions. Definitely not a great game, though. God, is it ever not a great game...

DA2 is unironically my favorite game.

@Conspiracy42 Veilguard is also amazing, actually.
Yeah I really liked Inquisition. Especially its DLC.
Why would you put inquisition on the thumbnail? Inquisition was a great game. In fact the final bosses actually the weakest part of the game so this really makes no sense.
