Kids actually pick up snowboarding quite well around and even under the age of 5. I've taught a number of kinds at that age range from zero and with a few lessons they figure it out to the blue slope level rather quickly. And from my experience their excitement when on a board is unmatched.
@@summitskiing@summitskiing In my experience, snowboarding is definitely more frustrating for beginners, which is why kids have a hard time with it. They just tend to get frustrated more easily. But snowboarding culture is way more identifiable for younger folks than traditional ski culture...so definitely worth it if they can push through.
Well yeah, when teaching you gotta keep it interesting for them. Show some freestyle basics n stuff. Its definitely harder for beginners to get shredding, especially older people.
Should do whichever you like more. I love snowboarding because it's harder start, but once you get the basics and learn edge control, it's way more fun than skiing for me, especially while carving groomers or doing powder, and it's preference, nothing more.
Did you actually watch the video? I'm curious if you could present some specific reasons as to why you think it's biased. Other than the fact that the Channel is called Summit Skiing and not Summit Snowboarding...

I snowboard and you make valid points about both..but it's clear you're biased towards snowboarding with your take on skiboots and other things I don't remember without going back snd rewatching it.
Yes, you got me, I assumed you we're referring to snowboarding after the other fellow's comment about it being ski industry propaganda...interesting how one person thinks it's ski propaganda and another sees the exact opposite. Anyways, you're incorrect on the count that I clearly prefer snowboarding - I'm a skier, and have dedicated my life to the sport. Also...my take on ski boots...I think it's fair to say that ski boots are significantly less comfortable than snowboarding boots, especially boots with a high flex rating. If you ski a lot, maintaining your feet in ski boots a constant battle. Skiers bring shoes for apres ski. As someone who both skis and snowboards, I find it hard to believe that you think ski boots are as comfortable?
@summitskiing in 98, when I switched to snowboarding the boots was one of the big selling points for sure lol but i wanted to get my ex and her kids inyo skiing so i started skiing again and the last boots I bought were heat molded salmon and I could have slept in them. Ski boots have come a thousand years since the late 90s.. Admittedly I didn't watch the whole video but the thumbnail depicts snowboarding as harder is kinda misleading because I found skiing easier to learn, but harder in the end (for reasons you've mentioned), and snowboarding harder to learn but easier in the end
