Doesn’t matter. X2 brings in guests, and from all over the world. One of only a handful of attractions capable of that. If anything this ride will get what KA couldn’t, and major refurbishment.
six flags did all of that. go to a nice cedar fair park like CGA or Knotts and you'll see the difference. im sure cedar fair will eventually make these parks in look nicer, in like a few years
@ that’s a little different. Top Thrill was the same way but they unlike X2 are extremely expensive to operate. I think if they could bring the cost of operations down they would keep it. I haven’t been to Great Adventure in a long time but El Toro was the most popular at that time.
@@bobz7 Expensive and difficult to operate and maintain, especially with its manufacturer becoming less and less able to provide support for the hydraulic launch systems they stopped producing and providing continued support for. X2 should be fine. I was wrong about Kingda Ka, but since S&S can build new trains and even re-track it. And unlike Kingda ka, this IS the flagship ride at the park and sees some of the highest ridership at SFMM. There's also much bigger fish to fry like Superman Viper and Riddler's Revenge.
Coasters do have lifespans, so it probably has at least another few years before they make a decision. That decision could be retracking or a total demolition. But let's keep in mind that Six Flags does this to improve their parks. If they take out a big coaster, they'll likely put an even better one in its place.
Brandon I've got an awesome idea...introducing x3. North America's first rotating b and m wing coaster...7 inversions, nearly 6,000 ft of track...hight 195 ft tall 250 ft down...opening Sumner 2027...
fr I rlly want tog o in it last time I went a few years back I let me fear get to me and went on everything but X2 my main goals were tatsu and X2 ( tatsu is AMAZING I REALLY RECOMMEND ) I’m going within the next year and I WILL go on it
So was Kingda Ka. Besides, like Brandon said, Arrow is long defunct and X2 can only be worked on by a different manufacturer, that Cedar Fair doesn’t work with.
@ItsSiebay S&S can supply parts as they bought the rights during Arrow's bankruptcy. Also, the New Revolution dates back to the 70s and Schwartzkopf went bust in the 80s. They kept Ninja, another Arrow.
@@RomanJockMCO But that’s the point. From my knowledge, Cedar Fair hasn’t worked with S&S on coaster related projects since removing Hypersonic the following year after they acquired Kings Dominion. And I’m sure the Steel Curtain debacle is steering them away from S&S for coaster repair. They’ll probably run X2 until they can’t and do evaluation on whether they want to repair it or replace it.
@@ItsSiebay I mean... King's Dominion did just get Tumbili a few years ago, so I don't think it's fair to say that Six Flags won't work with S&S. Cedar Fair has always worked with original manufacturers to keep their old rides running, regardless of whether they have new rides built by them.
An Axis needs to go to MM; preferably as a terrain. This would help if an S&S refurb wasn't in the cards for X2. Viper seems like it would be the next to go unless better trains were made for it. Superman will probably get a reprieve if TT2 stays closed, but the 1996 coaster has lost some of its appeal for me. A Zamperla flat package would benefit the mix here.
I am not even exaggerating when I say that I would remove every last damn coaster in that park before ever removing X2. It’s just so special and unique. It gives a rider sensation like no other coaster in the country. So I would throw as much money at it as needed to keep it going for years to come. It also has a special sentimental attachment for me, as it is the ONLY coaster that I was somehow capable of riding 21 times in a row on the original X’s media day. I get motion sickness, so I STILL don’t know how I did it. But I do know that was my limit. That last ride I was getting pretty woozy which is why there was no 22nd ride. Anyone that hasn’t ridden this yet, SERIOUSLY start saving money and making plans. Absolutely every single coaster enthusiast needs to ride this.
Kingda ka's hydraulic launch is what unfortually killed ka X2 maintainence is not even close to ka's hydraulic launch mantainance Intamin stopped doing the hydraulic headaches only deals with LSMs so parts are hard to come by .As long as S&S isnt going any where niether is X2 maybe upgraded to X3 thanks💪💪💪
Superman is constantly broken and when it does open only 1 side usually runs. It's a complete maintenance nightmare. I was there in June with a friend that had never been to SFMM, it only ran 1 of the 3 days and only for a couple of hours. We saw it up and ran to get on and luckily we did as it went down for the rest of the day. I have ridden it may times overt the years, however she hadn't. So, luckily she got 2 rides on it.
@@MCQ-fq6bv it was closed all day when I went to sfmm in July (Superman) but so was viper so yea I guess Superman has the worst operations probably in the chain
On the Cedar Point side of things, how long do we have left on Magnum XL 200? I know I will ride that all day long at Cedar Point but its an old arrow, a maintenance nightmare, and unless its a busy day, the ride is usually a walk on.
With the removal of kingda ka, it wouldn't surprise me if X2 gets removed, it probably still has some time left in the park, I will still be keeping an eye on it. So if you ever come to magic mountain whether it's your first time or not, be sure to get your rides on X2, Viper, and Superman, because you never know when the park will pull the plug on those rollercoasters
I'm pretty sure the only reason Xcelerator continues to operate in its original form is because Montezooma was so badly botched/delayed. Once Montezooma is reopened, I expect Xcelerator will be heavily modified or replaced shortly after.
My stupid random ideas for MM... 1. Give S&S a chance to rebuilt (retrack) X2. Brand new trains. Marking it X3... 2. Remove goliath and make room for the first RMC Trex. Or even a giga if possible. 3. And my dream... completely remove superman and add a strata coaster. Remove the iconic red tower (forgot what's it called) and add the spike tower there. It's basically a bigger TT2 but in the west...
Kingda Ka was an icon and record breaker. Also a beloved ride. But getting rid of X2 would be unthinkable. It would be like CP getting rid of Millennium Force. X2 is the ultimate wild card coaster in North America. S&S can maintain X2. Magic Mountain is an iconic park with a very deep coaster collection but X2 is what makes it unmissable. I'm not saying this can't happen. I would argue that it's less likely than Kingda Ka's removal. But there is no way to replace X2 with something that isn't a let down. I don't think even a MACK extreme spinner would be a worthy replacement. I guess if somehow the T-rex becomes a reality and Magic Mountain gets it's first giga then maybe that could suffice. I know I'm biased because X2 is my overall number one. But even putting that aside, it is the park's ultimate weapon. Not even Cedar Point has a coaster as unique and ambitious as X was. I put it this way. If they got rid of it it would be like if Ford and GM merged and then discontinued the Corvette.
I think the only thing that can save Cedar Fair from doing that bullshit is the intense competition in Southern California. Universal is only 30 minutes away and they are building a very significant coaster and they have Disney to deal with.
Well what do you expect people to think about your content when you are constantly rebranding? Are you reciting facts or is it all predictions? Why do you keep changing the name of the channel when you don’t inherently change the channel’s content or format to match? -I digress. As far as X2 goes, I respect your prediction, but I don’t think it’s going anywhere. It’s too much of a main draw & money maker, and if it came down to it Six Flags and S&S could do what needs to be done to make the coaster more profitable. As in less down time and maintenance costs.
This guy knows that x2 is safe lmao. he probably "forgot" to mention that S&S still makes parts for X2. Always just trying to stir up worry in the coaster community, Brandon!
Growing up in SoCal and going to MM since 1980, I've seen a lot of changes to MM over the decades. Sadly, many of them are not good. Although everyone looks forward to the next highest, fastest, coaster coming to MM, what the really need to do is take a big break and make some HUGE improvements to the park. After experiencing Cedar Point just a couple of times since living on the east side of the US for the last couple of years now, the way Cedar Point designs and operates their coasters leaves MM in the dust! Cedar Point designs their coasters for good thru-put (loading/unloading), processing a greater number of passengers per hour. Also, they tend to operate most of their coasters with multiple trains running even on slow days. Magic Mountain? Not even a comparison! Example: I was just at MM last month (Oct 2024) on a Friday in the afternoon. They had multiple coasters closed (Wonder Woman, Superman, & Goliath, just to name a few), and many of the others that were open, only running one train! Anyone who's waited in line for a coaster that's only running one train knows it's a complete waste of time! This is the NORM for MM, not the exception! I saw the changes start way back in 1980 or so, when Six Flags bought MM. The quality and experience immediately started to decline, and has been ever since! So, while everyone awaits a new record-breaker coming to MM, the question is, will the operations of Cedar Fair bring an IMPROVEMENT to MM and produce a good people-processing coaster, with operators who are...how should I put this...MATURE, young adults who actually give a crap about their job performance, or will the typical "Six Flags" operations and mentality be the norm and produce another coaster with tons of downtime, and a ridership of only 300-400 pph? So, whether they get rid of Superman (which is REALLY needed since it never goes 100mph and is down more than operating), or X2, which is ALSO down more than open, and usually running only 1 train, or Viper which nobody wants to ride since it's so painful, anything they build will need to have Cedar Fair behind the design and execution behind it rather than the Six Flags disasters that park has seen over the decades! Sorry, but I lost all hope for MM years ago! No matter what they build, it will age quickly and become just like their others! 😞
yep I can see them announce a record breaking coaster and putting in on the plot of X2 and Viper. Superman wont likely get replaced with anything, at least for a while. I think with them getting the next coaster at a different plot I think X2 is safe for a couple years. Superman uses a lot of electricity and doesn't really have a purpose any more. But who knows, at the moment I don't trust them at all and think anything can be on the chopping block. I hope a couple more years, I want my daughter to experience X2, as I doubt I will be taking her to Asia any time soon.
I would have to disagree. There are a number of other rides that would be replaced first. S&S does own the rights and since a few models exist that they created. It would be safe to assume the ride is safe for now. However, to me the most at risk would be Ninja because that model has been out of production longer than X2, and has already been in a few incidents. Viper, yes its old, doesn't need to be the star attraction that it used to be any more. The model, maybe the giant looper model, but the ride systems on that ride are quite basic and had been in production for 50 years. Also if SFMM wants, they can easily contract to Vekoma, who by the way utilized the same patents as Arrow (due to an international business deal they made), and simply update/overhaul the ride for the next 20 years. Go take a look a Silverwood, they have been operating the Prototype Corkscrew model for 30 years now and it is still running smoothly. Superman Escape from Krypton has VERY limited lift left. When Tower of Terror closed a few years ago, SFMM bought their parts stores and ride systems to keep Superman up and running. Superman was not a popular ride that parks bought and only 2 existed in the world. The difference between Kingda Ka is simply the type of ride it is. The hydraulic launch rides are a maintenance hog. I think the reason Kingda Ka is being removed is because Top Thrill 2 has been a failure and if the overhaul to TT2 was successful then Kingda Ka would have also gone thru the same treatment. However, I would expect TT2 to also be removed soon because the overhaul hasn't worked as planned.
I think we shouldn’t blame new cedar fair/six flags for closing these rides when old six flags knew they could have took better care of what they had 1st
Not happening. We are forgetting the fact this park brings in the most revenue period. Also they are just not going to let go of the title for most coasters in the world. Its location in California is key here. I agree all coasters at some point will get removed, however as long as it has a support manufacture which it does, the most stress the track receives is from the heavy trains which six flags addressed making them much lighter. Superman however Is very costly Just like Ka. How long will it last who knows? However magic did buy parts from the only other model that got removed few years ago. Will see how long that bought them a window.
Lol..SFMM brings in the most from SF legacy parks it's not in the top 4 in the combined chain. Knotts and Cedar Point are #1 and #2 and each bring in about double of #3 Kings Island. Wonderland is #4 and SFMM is about equal to Carowinds #5.

What were you doing six flags? First the closure of the world's tallest rollercoaster, and now your only 4th dimension coaster? What the f is wrong with you! If you ever going to close more of these fantastic rides, you'll never have guests ever again! Then you're lost! Stop removing these awesome rides, or else we'll never visit your parks ever again! Then it's all your fault!(This is meant for six flags because they're really screwing everything up. First the sudden closure of everyone's favorite intamin strata coaster and now x2? This is ridiculous!)
@thecoasterman682 This is Cedar Fair's doing, not Six Flags. Cedar Fair has the larger share in the company, so the CEO runs everything. They are jealous of Six Flags having the tallest coaster and a 4d coaster.
Yes, I could see it easily being removed. It's been a problem for years and even if it's popular, it also gets a bad reputation for a number of other reasons.
Clueless they are investing 500M each of the next 2 years. CF parks were already having 220M annual Capex, the big increase is going to Sf legacy parks that were well under 200M annual Capex. CF is trying to bring the financially failing SF parks that have potential up to the CF standard. Look up the financials CF runs circles around SF. First joint financials broken down by chain for Q3. CF legacy 792M revenue, 352M Ebidta, 108M Net Income(profit), 11.8M attendance. SF legacy parks 558M revenue, 206M Ebidta, 3M Net Income(not a typo..3M net income-profit), 9.2M attendance. The SF parks financial are extremely poor compared to CF given Sf has more parks and overall more large city/metro markets.
CF is trying to save SF legacy parks as they have been a financial disaster for along time, They are over time going to try to make SF parks more like CF parks. CF legacy parks have been producing record financials under their Seasons of Fun plan started in 2018. Post pandemic CF has been producing records in 2022 2023 and thru Q2 2024(when the merger occurred). SF has been a disaster, post pandemic they regressed to 2017/2018 financial levels/ hint, look at the first joint financials they broke it down by chain. CF legacy parks 792M Revenue, 352M Ebidta. 108M net income, 11.8M attendance. SF legacy parks 558M Revenue, 206M Ebidta, 3M net income(not a typo 3M net income) and 9.2M attendance. SF legacy parks are poor overall compared to CF and even more so given SF has way more parks, but lags significantly in every financial metric.
I still think the merger was a good idea. In ten years the legacy Six Flags parks will actually BE the premium product that Selim was trying to sell them as.

six flags did all of that. go to a nice cedar fair park like CGA or Knotts and you'll see the difference. im sure cedar fair will eventually make these parks in look nicer, in like a few years
“To those who take my channel too seriously” lmao legendary line right there!
They wouldn’t dare touch X2. That is still the most popular ride at Magic Mountain. Superman and Viper would go before X2.
Idk Kingda ka was the most popular ride at six flags great adventure and cedar fair was pretty quick and sneaky on getting rid of that
@ that’s a little different.
They're starting to reach the ends of their service lives, and can only take so many Band Aid fixes to delay the inevitable.
X2 would probably be the last to go, barring any major structural damage or major failure of the trains
I have Ben to this park twice, 7 days all together and has Ben closed everyday and when asked, there clueless
Highly doubtful that they remove X2, as its arguably their most popular ride in the park.
fr I rlly want tog o in it last time I went a few years back I let me fear get to me and went on everything but X2 my main goals were tatsu and X2 ( tatsu is AMAZING I REALLY RECOMMEND ) I’m going within the next year and I WILL go on it
So was Kingda Ka.
It's like a rebranding making only cedar point having the record breaking coasters.
Everybody needs to read your comment.
Wtf is this rumor you’re starting. And im confused about the Superman rumor. I think viper will go before anything
Superman has been closed since August. It's almost Decemher now.
I can see x2 get removed along with El toro in the same year
With the removal of kingda ka, it wouldn't surprise me if X2 gets removed, it probably still has some time left in the park, I will still be keeping an eye on it. So if you ever come to magic mountain whether it's your first time or not, be sure to get your rides on X2, Viper, and Superman, because you never know when the park will pull the plug on those rollercoasters
Superman and Xcelerator at Knotts are the two I think are in trouble.
X2 is too iconic and so much sacrifice was made for that coaster to even be standing today that i cannot see them removing it any time soon.
Could six flags REALLY remove X2? Is like asking the same question could six flags REALLY remove kingda ka? Yes yes they did
Removing Ka made more sense, though.
This guy knows that x2 is safe lmao. he probably "forgot" to mention that S&S still makes parts for X2. Always just trying to stir up worry in the coaster community, Brandon!
They touch X2 its gonna be real life genuine hands with cedar fair 😭
Lol..silly thoosie says what? Park gives you the stiff arm.
@ and who are you bud?
I think that they'll retrack it or give it some new trains, but I do think that they'll remove superman
Yes, they could, and then Superman or vice versa, get rid of the maintenance nightmares and headaches.
Not six flags, but also, keep an eye on kumba the closing rumors are coming back…
X2 is so unique. I hope it stands the test of time!
I hope this ride stays around before I get on it
I’d rather see riddler go first
Anything that replaces X2 is automatically a downgrade. There's nothing else like it, and what would replace won't be anything like it.
I think we shouldn’t blame new cedar fair/six flags for closing these rides when old six flags knew they could have took better care of what they had 1st
DEAR GOD IF THEY REPLACE X2 WITH A FAMILY COASTER IM GOING TO START TWEAKING
Lol..silly thoosie says what?
Xcelerator at Knotts should be worried 😟
El Toro too. The only reason I305 hasn't left is probably because it's too tall.
Xcelerator is getting the second train fixed was just there and it’s getting parts from king da ka
I could see Xcelerator and Coast Rider being taken down as a duo to be replaced with a larger scale thrill ride.
@@grandjohn Or because they're both significantly cheaper to operate than Ka. Neither ride is going anywhere any time soon.
It should at least be safe until Montezooma reopens.
They gotta make it not be a calf smasher first
Nothing would surprise me now!
Let me just guess 1:00 into this video…. Remove X2 and Viper for a Giga? Horrible idea…. 👎🏻 Let’s see if I’m right? 🤣
I like viper and x2 but what is other rides will get removed hopefully not scream twisted colossus Goliath Batman riddlers revenge crazyanity west coast racer Tatsu viper x2 or full throttle because I like those rides 😊
I hope not that ride is freaking awesome
they better not touch X2!! I really think cedar fair is trying to destroy Six flags best rides. One more thing, X2 is always running, it breaks a lot but they manage to make it work every day.
Brandon, you have been doing some of your best predictions this year. You called La Vibora being plucked before any other source. Supermen will probably be first to go followed by X2.
I hope 🤞 they don’t remove x2 because I like that ride and other rides are my favorite like viper scream twisted colossus Goliath crazyanity west coast racer apocalypse Batman riddlers revenge full throttle those are all my favorite rides when I was at six flags magic mountain for my birthday I would say I was going to ride Superman it was closed keep the ones I like 👍 😊
They fucking better not get rid of it
Lol...Silly thoosie says what? Management laughs
They need to remove superman and viper
Cedar fair closed some amazing rides then turned around and made great ones Thunder Road closed 2015 when fury 325 opened in 2015 copperhead strike is in park of it now just takes time
Yeah like you really going to compare thunder road to Kingda Ka or X2😂
i would hope not since this is honestly one coaster I really want off my coasters to ride bucket list before it comes down.
I imagine X2 difficult to maintain, especially when it reaches the end of its service life
Incredibly difficult and expensive to maintain unfortunately.
I am there in March, leave X2 alone at least till then and announce nothing because I don't want a lineup.
They'd better not! It's the only reason i still go to MM. They take it out, i won't go there anymore!
Lol...Silly thoosie says what? Management laughs at your arrogance and entitlement.
Cedar fair is ruining Six Flags community
Can we please not start these speculations now
I think might remove X2 because if they add the axis coaster the 2 will be two similar.
They aren't adding an axis, it's a Vekoma motorbike prototype
So then Arrow Dyamics closed for nothing then
Superman will be first.
Petition for RMC x S&S to convert Superman and Goliath into a pneumatic launched strata T-Rex
Viper needs to go
Big fan of your videos but I'm not watching a video about my favorite roller coaster in my home park even possibly being removed. X2 is the real king of coasters. 🙌 Unless of course they made it better than the newer versions. 😬
Jk I'm still watching 😂
Nooo they can’t…
DONT TAKE X2 PLEASE
Get rid of super man, batman, ridler, ninja. These outdated slow rides you would think. X2 thoe.
They need to remove TT2 if costs to run the rides are too much for some
Hope not
NO GOD NO GOD PLEASE NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Yes, I could see it easily being removed. It's been a problem for years and even if it's popular, it also gets a bad reputation for a number of other reasons.
This video should be delete immediately…
The new Six Flags/Cedar Fair is done with competition time to gut it all.
If they try and touch X2 someone got to force a sale of the park screw that man.
Lol..silly thoosie says what?
@@MCQ-fq6bvyour a troll on every comment. You are boring go fall back into the black hole you crawled out of.
💚
X2 is a problematic coaster
Cedar Fair bought Six Flags so they can remove all of their iconic rides. Can’t believe so many people thought the merger would be a good idea
They ain’t gonna remove it, and I know it. Sure, Ka was massive and popular, but X2 has no reason for removal. Plus, all the backlash for Ka should teach the new Six Flags a lesson.
Hint, they don't really give a crap about thoosies whining, they make up about mid single digits percentage of total attendance of parks.
X/X2, What ever the hell it's called should go. It's resposable for the demise of Arrow Dynamics anyway. A Rollercoaster that was supposed to have a price tag of 25 Million Dollars, Ending up costing Arrow 45 Million. GOOD RIDDANCE!! Arrow Dynamics would still be in business if it wasn't for that POS Coaster!!
POS Coaster? Yeah, ok.
Arrow is responsible for Arrow’s demise.
And it’s called X2 since you seem to not know.
@@carl_thunderit was called x before x2 it got new train
@@ellexking9136 Disney helped make arrow but then didn’t save them. Blame Disney and arrow would have a hard time staying alive and they are alive in s@s so just chill and x2 is great.
@ I’m aware of that. It was X when it opened and got a rework, new trains, and a color profile that is closer to Eejanaika. Right now, it’s called X2 and that’s what I was referring to. I was not referring to its previous name.
sorry you haven't been able to find a job in the coaster industry since arrow bankrupted themselves lmao it's literally not x2's fault tho
