My mother was the operations manager for Sherkston many years ago. In fact she had the first trailer that was placed on the beach shoreline. I spent many years camping on Wildwood and at the Quarry. Not to mention when we allowed to park our cars on the beach for the day (just like Daytona Beach, Florida). It was the Best beach in the New York / Ontario area.

I have had a few friends over recent years that have packed up and left. It's a good place over all but at times it's lawless. and that's when trouble starts.

@@NigelHay my mother helped computerize the check-in system when camping there during the summer many years ago, then became the operations manager. Ironically, she and the OPP would wake me up from my tent to help remove the hoodlums who were burning picnic table, etc, All of the idiots were Canadian, mostly from Toronto.

Nice to see Nickle Beach so spotless and the water so clear. We wouldn't go near there when we were kids growing up in Port Colborne. Always headed west of town.
It's always annoyed me how much is private beach along Lake Erie, especially all the areas the Americans own.

It makes my blood boil. Thankfully, the majority of owners have no issue with people walking by, but the issue is, it should never of been this way in the first place. A beautiful lake with many natural wonderful beaches that are off limits due to nothing more than pure greed from a century ago that still continues today. Sea, Lakes, Beaches should be for everyone.

I have read many books on the subject of all things Great Lake Erie, but it was great to see pictures of all these locations. Really interesting info on the "Venus" and had to scroll back and watch your vid "The Wreck". Point Albino Lighthouse was absolutely stunning. Loved the drone shots and couldn't believe the clarity of the water. Can really see why so many ships foundered close to shore after seeing how rocky the coastline is just under water.

I have been working on a Point Abino Lighthouse video for over a year. All I need to complete it is one more calm day so I can complete the filming. If that happens, I hope to put out the video before end of the year. A very detailed look at the lighthouse and it's history.

I kayaked Jordan Harbour last week and the water is easily down 18" or so from mid summer. Also seems equally low in Lake Ontario. Could this be a managed release out the Seaway?

I doubt it, I drove over the skyway (Burlington) and noticed it was very low around a week ago too. But the lake level in mainly controlled by the winds. The harbour may be low due to low rain fall that runs from the creeks into the harbour and then out on to the lakes,

@@NigelHay I know the Seaway does control the flow through the st. Lawrence. A few years ago when Lake Ontario was flooding the TO islands, they were set with the dilemma of do we keep the lake high and flooding various places in NY state and Ontario or do we do a release on the St. Lawrence and flood places downstream.
