2. OPERATIONAL ESSENTIALS (There are 4)
* A MAN OF THE SECRET PLACE
* Must be a man of prayer.
* GOD is the Light, we are the light bearer.
* Even the youth shall fail and the young man shall utterly fall, but the antidote is “they that wait” Isaiah 40:31
* The ability to stay with God removes the frailty of humanity from our dispense of the life of God.
* The effectiveness of our service is a proponent of our staying in the presence. If we can’t tarry in the presence we will fail when we deliver our ministry.
* One of the principle credential in operating in ministry is the capacity to stand in the presence of God.
* Our strength is commensurate to our capacity to stand in the presence.
* If you can’t wait, you can’t serve. It’s one of greatest warfare on ministers. You must make up your mind to be consistent.
* TO BE GIFTED IN WHAT YOU DO
* Giftings enhance operations
* The gift of the spirit are for profit
* A minister must have certain gifts that enhances the depths and the dimension of God in his spirit.
* You cannot be effective without a gift.
* In the 5 fold Ministry, every prophet must have at least 2 revelational gift and 1 vocal gift. Either word of knowledge, word of wisdom, discernment of spirits. Either prophesy, or intrepret tongue or to speak in tongue. Every Apostle must have at least 1 revelational gift and 2 Power gifts. Every evangelist must have 2 power gifts and 1 vocal gift, else you cannot do it. 2 Corinthians 12:12 (...mark of an apostle by signs and wonders)
* Everyone of us that has the Holy Ghost has at least one of the gifts, because the Holy Ghost is the GIFT, the manifestations are simply the charisma’s of the Holy Ghost. So the GIFT is the person of the Spirit.
* The gift must be cultivated. If you don’t develop the gift you will not be an effective minister.
* If you feel they are not enough covet the BEST gift. The best gift is the one that needed per time/for the time.
* For productivity in operation a minister must develop the capacity to cultivate gifts. “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” II Timothy 1:6. “For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established-Romans 1:11 NKJV
* Sometimes that gift will call for a fast, fast. Sometimes it will call for prayer, pray. And sometimes it will call for giving, give. The same way the healing anointing function by compassion, the prophetic anointing function by giving. There is no prophet that is not generous. Because it’s when you can reach out, that’s when the oil can reach out. Sometimes that gift will flow with worship because many prophets are giving to sounds. 2 Kings 3:15 (...get me the minstrel)
* THE MAN MUST BE A STUDENT/MAN OF THE WORD
* 2 Timothy 2:15. It’s not a gift, it’s a practice.
* The effect of the word is superior to a gift, because words builds ideologies and philosophies, and they become strongholds. While a gift can destroy a man or a congregation if wrongly administered, the word of God can destroy a generation if wrongly administered. A man who God raises must be accurate in the word of God. This is what the Christian fathers saw and they defined the 12 pillars of the faith. This is why we don’t change doctrine. 1 Timothy 3:13-15 (...give attendance to reading, exhalation and doctrine).
* The 3 hallmark of doing business with the word: You STUDY it to get your own revelation, you LISTEN to those who are authorities in that area to exalt you, had then you check DOCTRINE on the subject that is already universally agreed. Acts 6:4
* If you are a man of God in any kind of ministry, and you don’t love the Word of God there’s something wrong with your soul. Jeremiah 15:16.
* Men are built by teaching not by gifts. Nothing compares to the Word of God. Both the minister and the ministered are built by the Word.
* “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22 NKJV
* HE MUST BE FIT (There are 4 categories of FITNESS)
* Spiritual Fitness
* Given to prayer
* Given to the Word
* Must carry His atmosphere (Luke 5:17 “...the power of God was present to heal”) It takes praying, study, and extensive worship to carry an atmosphere. “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things?” II Corinthians 2:14-16. Mingle with God until you glow. “As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening.” Luke 9:29 . “The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this Man!”” John 7:46 It takes labor, build it, it’s worth it.
* Physical Fitness:
* Mental Fitness “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” II Timothy 1:7 (The ability to capture dimensions, to retain it and to communicate it). It requires exercising the mind, rest, being at peace with all men. Take time to meditate in a calm atmosphere.
* Body Fitness: The body must be consecrated to God. “Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body....Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” I Corinthians 6:13, 19-20. A consecrated body becomes spiritually healthy for the flow of virtue. “so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.” Acts 5:15 “Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.” Acts 19:11-12 “So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders; and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.” II Kings 13:2 (Your body belongs to God. What you do with your eyes, mouth, hands etc matters. “I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.” Psalms 101:3. ““I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman?” Job 31:1
* Physical Health - Value good health. Once and again exercise your body. “For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.” I Timothy 4:8 (That “little” counts) REST & EXERCISE. Be sure to be CARDIOVASCULAR FIT (Movements that increases heart rate hence blood flow), and MUSCULARLY FIT.
* Educational Fitness - If you don’t want the scope of your ministry to be limited you must be vast. A preacher must be a researcher. “For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.” I Corinthians 9:19-23 (Any set of people should be able to listen to you and make sense out of what you are saying) What’s the size of your library. You are a prophet, how much do you know about the prophetic office. Invest in your library. “Buy the truth, and do not sell it, Also wisdom and instruction and understanding.” Proverbs 23:23
