Moon Crisis is not canon. It will never be animated. Sentinel will likely also never be animated due to legal rights issues and the preference of its author and Model Graphix to keep it as a serialized novel. The closest you'll get to animated Sentinel is Gundam 0083. Worry more about Bandai's inability to put out the second and third Hathaway movies.
Sentinel was unusual because the intended way to read the novel was alongside the customized model kits profiles provided by Model Graphix magazines, adding more context about the battle strategies in the story and reasons why the modellers customized the kits in certain way. Hajime Katoki excels at this, bandai just hired him for 0083 and Victory Gundam right after
Thanks for your summary. The side stories set around/after Zeta are interesting (I just finished reading the Walpurgis manga). And to add a comparison. This story of fleet comanders analyzing one another also reminds me of The Legend of the Galactic Heroes novel/anime.
i think a sentinel show (or more likely an ova) would be seen the same as twilight axis. "whats happening??? who are these characters??? it all happened to fast???". i think a movie or like you suggested a *game* is a much better choice. imagine restricting your view, or not giving you any tutorial when you get thrown into the zplus simulator to ensure you fail? would be so cool lol. plus imagine actually feeling the upgrades in movement and weapons as your ms gets upgraded... would be so much more impactful lol. ugh, sentinel is so cool lol
Sentinel has the same issue as AoZ, for obscure (at least for me) copyright reasons, both cannot be animated yet. And this is unfortunate since they has some of the best MS design ever created. But eventually the copyright issue will expire as the one of Macross did not to many years ago (and this is the reason we start to see Macross kit by Bandai)
Bandai made Macross toys and kits from long ago, they have Macross 7 model kit line from mid 90s for example. And it got nothing to do with copyright issue (said issue is more about international distribution outside Japan) as Macross license is never exclusive to one company. Bandai is simply joining the likes of Yamato, Hasegawa, Arii, Wave, Kaiyodo, etc producing Macross merch.
Thank you I really do mean it. Thank you I hope you continue to talk about sentinel It is such an amazing story and cool characters equally cool MS Thanks bro.
Thanks for the summary, the Sentinel kits are my favorite so I really appreciate this! Your story telling and visuals are awesome. Looking forward to the next chapters.

Hi, I just used the discord link and I need help getting permission to see anything in the server. I can't even read the rules for some reason. My screenname is the same in discord as on TH-cam.
This my favorite Gundam Series! The Xeku Zwei is a fucking beast! I wish they animate this damn thing already! I mean come already, Harmony Gold and Big West already got their shit together over Macross. WTF these guys waiting for!!
29:48 Why would turning make them more likey go be fired on? The output of their engines being visible? Or do they have some sort of front-only I fields?
Well, if we’re looking at this from the combat perspective, if you turn your around and start retreating, your engines are gonna be more exposed, aside from that, the ships they have in their fleet all have their main cannons pointed towards the front, so if they turn around and retreat that the enemy could easily pick them off as they try to flee like that and they’d have nothing to provide cover fire aside from the trio of FAZZ’s who are the only suits who can probably handle long range.
Judging by the fact that 0083 hadn’t even been written yet, they’re probably the Zeta ones, however I’m using the two types of ships for the visuals for the sake of factional depiction and just so you can tell whose on whose side.
at least some of the MS got animated for unicorn... that being said, the "pretty much all" qualifier in regards to Katoki designing suits for Sentinel is important since some of the designs existed before Sentinel as rejected concepts for ZZ Gundam. the Mark V was designed for Mika Akitaka as a the "G-V" federal MS before getting retooled for axis as the Doven Wolf. Katoki likely still did the final art for its appearance in Sentinel, though.
The Gundam mk. V being the ancestor of the Doven Wolf is a retcon; the Doven Wolf existed as its own thing, then when Sentinel entered production, they retroactively created the mk. V based on the Doven Wolf. Akitaka is the original designer of the mk. V and Katoki did not redraw his art for the final design, but did draw the mk. V in the insert pictures in the Sentinel novel. The biggest difference is that Akitaka's mk. V uses curved surfaces and Katoki's mk. V uses angular surfaces. This is most noticeable along the chest area; Akitaka draws the sides of the chest curved inward and downward toward the bottom of the two central exhausts, Katoki draws the sides of the chest at a hard angle and lifts it up to align with the middle of the two central exhausts or the upper exhaust. Akitaka's mk. V is more faithful to the Doben Wolf original design, Katoki's version is more in line with EFSF aesthetics, and this more angular style is carried over to the Silver Bullet.
@@terpfen you should see the Mark Simmons article on the production history of Gundam ZZ, it has the rough sketches for "G-V" where it actually lacks the two central exhausts.
If Bandai would finally shake hands with Model Graphix Magazine over the story rights. I think Sentinel deserves an OVA, 3-5 episodes. Get Katoki to design new art and kits. Throw a MG Zeta Plus Ver Ka out, (it's Bandai, gotta milk the frame right?) reprint some Sentinel kits, print the money. Bing bang boom, everybody is happy. Your dreaming if you think they will put money into a Zeku Eins kit.
If you follow my community tab, I unfortunately had to pretty much cancel it. All my project files for it got completely corrupted and I lost a good 2 hours of audio I did for it
I just watched this now and finding out the way you made this video ironically this might be the only way someone into the UC Stories to know Sentinel. Currently Sunrise focus on Hathaway and Vengence from Requiem Currently so if they do its pure luck now. I will be checking The Sentinel Content here on out because I think it's your first to have a 2nd Gen Voltes V Watcher and a Recent Fan of Gundam UC [Started in 2022-2023]
f91 sentinel twilight axis and aoz all awesome lil bits of gundam timeline w amazing designs and story but bandai sunrise issues legal and business wise between them and various parties has really muddled so much shit w the ip and various spin offs etc
I do hope one day one day we get a anime of sentinel be nice to round up the early uc (aside from gundam 0099 moon crisis)
doubtful but yeah.... would be awesome
Please we need an anime of gundam Sentinel
@@thehobbyist1162 at most an ova would work for sentinel as its quite a short story

company rights problems with this series so it'll be hard to make a series for this.

Oh, this is a pleasent surprise. Sentinel's been on my read list for a while, but this is more than adequete to satisfy that itch!

Gundam Sentinel, Kondo's Revival of Zeon and War in the Pocket were the best side stories in the late eighties.

This is really well done and I look forward to watching the rest of the series. Subscribed.
This realy feels like a video game
YES YES YES if you do something Sentinel like you did with Gia Gear YESSSS
Your doing so well buddy!!!! I enjoyed thos
Some mobile suit profiles on the iconic MS featured would be greatly appreciated as all of these suits are pretty wild and unique.😂
Which kind of Salamis-Kai are they sending as escort? the god-awful 0083 ones or the really solid Zeta ones?
Judging by the fact that 0083 hadn’t even been written yet, they’re probably the Zeta ones, however I’m using the two types of ships for the visuals for the sake of factional depiction and just so you can tell whose on whose side.
This is great. Makes me excited to build my MG Ex-S, Deep Striker, Zeta Plus C1, and Mk-V :P
Thank you
Can you make Mobile Suit Profiles, similar to Man Machine Profiles from Gaia Gear?
Gaiyus i hope part 2 comes out when will it hm?

How ironic that the only small part of Sentinel was its page count.
any update on the post mortum of Gaia Gear?

for this review will you use the OST of Stardust Memory, Zeta and ZZ?
While not gundam, I want to see if you can do a deep dive like this for the Five Star Stories
Sorry man, FSS isn’t where my knowledge forte lies. I really wish I knew more, but it’s just never been a series I got into. :/
Woohoo! Sentinel time!

Could you explore more obscure UC stories?
Already have more in the works. The story of the “Advanced Operation” dos game is the candidate for the next story I wish to cover
f91 sentinel twilight axis and aoz
all awesome lil bits of gundam timeline w amazing designs and story

It sounds like everyone is just winging it.
instead they recycled seed.. disgusting.
Which made them money
TITANS DID NOTHING WRONG.
