How Interesting! This could explain it!! That cycle you see. A person uses wigs to grow out their hair for say 3 years with no breaks just WIGS! And you see it's growing cause everyone has that one back or side braid that's your "Look how Long My Hair IS!! :D" that you can whip out. But when they start wearing their Hair out it's thin and it's a different "thin"....... you know what it reminds you of: a leg out of a cast!!! Yes!! The leg just out is thinner than the other one! But its like a different thin...a loss of muscle thin maybe..... YES! That is what it's Like! So it almost like being so covered made it weak...................................(sigh).....crap.
Tmarie2u what is the solution to growing hair out while wearing wigs? I don't want to wear my natural hair out.. it's a mess. So I prefer wigs. But if wigs harm my natural hair.. then what
O Love I guess make sure you’re taking care of your hair weekly and also give yourself breaks. I know you said it’s a mess but it’ll come together once you start caring for it more and learn how to style :)
So true. After years of wearing wigs I did grow length but my hair is so thin. It is hard to come out of wigs when you are used to the thickness of a wig. I am doing protein treatments trying to come out of wigs.
to each is own, I've been wearing wig as a protective style since I started my natural hair journey 30 months ago I have retained 14 to 14 1/2 inches of hair so far as long as you take care of your natural hair you have nothing to worry about... good haircare is key
That’s why you take breaks every moment you get. If you wear them to work take them off as soon as you get home. Don’t wear them on weekends unless you have a special engagement. I agree about what she is saying about staying covered up. I try and always let my hair breathe when I can. It really depends on your hair also I see some people wear wigs and their hair is super long and super thick.
Great comment! This is why i prefer wigs over weaves. You can take your wig off at the end of each day and let your hair breath. I plan to wear wigs for a year straight to see how much length I can retain. I just have to remember to keep my wig off in the house to let my scalp breath. I wash and deep condition every 2 weeks. I need to remember to spray my hair nightly with oil, water and a conditioner mixture.
I decided to wear wigs as a protective style when I BC on 8/30/14. I wore my twa for about 2-3 months but it was very fragile and would shed alot. I knew that if I didn't mess with my hair everyday it would grow so I turned to wigs. I would shampoo and conditioner and DC, moisturize and twist my hair and put castor oil on my edges. I always made sure to have a silk scarf on under my wigs and let me tell youuuuuuu my hair grew, got stronger and my edges are thicker. I do let my hair breath after work and on wknds. 8/30/15 my one year naturalversary I will stop wearing wigs for awhile and wear my natural hair but in a lot of low maintenance styles.
I love the realness in this video, I've worn wigs forever and common sense told me it gets less air. The wig becomes like a hat and it gets thinner but no one ever talks about or correlates the two!!! GREAT JOB!!!
I used wigs as a crutch when I first went natural, because I simply didn't know what to do with my hair. I also have to admit that I didn't like how I looked after my big chop. Sadly, this led to neglect and dependence upon them. They can be useful, but taking care of the hair "under there" is a must. Great video!
Thank you for this comment, I'm sure its going to prevent someone from making the same mistakes. Making mistakes is a guaranteed step in a healthy hair journey but, leaning from it is not. I'm glad to hear that you have and that you're more knowledgeable now.
I never though about sewing a silk scarf inside a wig. Great tips you got there. If I can ad something to it, the combs are not safe for our hair (and edges), I remove them and use pin because I notice how the wig tend to fall back sometims (especially half-wigs) and it pull the hair and edges at the same time.
I use wig grip which I ordered from Amazon. My wig grip is made of satin and is adjustable; the wig does not move and cannot be pulled off. It's a great tool.
Sister, do you consider scarfs in the same category as a wig? I'm asking because I transitioned to wearing scarfs vs wigs at work...but now after watching this video, I am concerned about less oxygen and sunlight? I wear a base silk and then another scarf on top, some are prima quality some are not as thick, but not see through. Do you think my scalp is breathing less? I may have to transition to a crochet, kind of in between a wig and a weave? Just not a the point of wearing my own hear completely naked. So to speak. Love your videos, I am going to use the updated onion recipe this weekend.
Wigs made my hair grow sooo much and thickened my fine damaged hair .. and also thickened my edges .. individual braids thinned them out so nuch and even gave me a bald spot. Hmmm this is interesting . I guess all things in moderation then .
I have long length hair due to wearing wigs my hair just keeps growing I have been wearing wigs for about 10 years! But my hair didn't start growing until I stop getting relaxers! I am now 21 months post relaxer and my hair is healthier than ever I keep my natural hair braided underneath moisturized ans seal with oil and alternate deep conditioning and protein treatment and its really been growing so yes with the proper hair and care regimen wigs can definitely grow your hair!
+flora sd I use different kinds I like to change my look up! currently I'm wearing the senegelease twist lace wig follow me on Instagram @_beautifulnaturally and see all the different styles I wear! plus a look at my natural hair journey.
+flora sd yes I do 90% of the time when I'm not doing my jhair care regimen that's how I retain the most length and my hair grows faster because I keep it in a protective style by wearing wigs and keeping my hair braided underneath moisturized and sealed with oil.
+kyleestar1 how do you secure your wig? so your hair was not falling out ? i really want to grow out my hair and i thought during that time i would wear a wig.. but then i got worried that it might cause hairloss especially around the edges😯
This is great advice but don’t throw out the baby with the Bath water. Everybody hair is different. We can’t look at a video and be like no more wigs. If you been a natural for more than 2 years I think by now you should know your hair and have an understanding on what it likes and don’t like. I do agree your hair needs to breath. I have 4c hair and it thrives on protective styles. I made a conscious decision this year to only wear wigs. Braids and Sew ins were harsh on my hair. Any hairstyle I will do my 4c hair will shrink like no body business I love her though😊Bottom line know your hair! We look at these videos as guidance and seal it in stone but don’t stop it there, take her advice with a grain of salt. Everybody hair is different. I use to wear my hair out all the time and it will shrink and dry up because it likes to be protected. I live in Florida where it’s very humid. My hairstyle will look so different at the end of the day😂So at the end of the the day know what works for your crown.
This one of the best comprehensive videos on hair I've seen on TH-cam. I love the example you gave using the bandaid in relation to the skin was so on point. Thanks for your educated tips in the balanced routine of wearing wigs and caring for the hair and scalp.
I've never thought about wigs in this light before. definitely an eye opener. My sister wears wigs all the time because of the damage she got from flat ironing her hair every morning and trying to dye her bangs blonde. She has since went natural and she has grew a lot of beautiful healthy hair under her wigs. When she took the wig off one time her edges were thin but the rest of her hair was full and thick. I've been trying to convince her to wear her natural hair. She has no idea how to wear her natural hair (still stuck in her high school mentality of wanting to straighten her hair with heat everyday). She's became so dependent to wigs. All that beautiful healthy hair underneath smh.
you hit the nail right on the head! my mother RIH told me this when I was a kid in the 60's and she said wearing wigs will take the life out of your hair. I tell my 28 year old the same thing. But she loves weaves, braids, and wigs.... in that order. I 'd say, well wear your hair on the weekends or when out of town, give your hair some sun and air. Boy I love this channel!
When I was younger I used wigs five days a week. And you were quite correct in saying your hair can become thinner and not have that alive feel and luster. So take it off just like you do your shoes when you get home. You can wear beautiful scarves if you don't want to show your hair, just don't tie them down tightly. I saw a long time ago where one TH-camr would sew in clips or bobby pins to secure a loosely tied scarf.
Your videos are so informative and easy to understand. So glad I found you and keep up the good work. Thank you for educating me as a newly natural. Did not know what to do with my hair as I was relaxed for years. However I don't know why I did not go on this journey before because I love it and my natural hair is more versatile than my relaxed. Please keep the videos coming! Thanks
loved loved loved this video. I am currently wearing a wig and have noticed my hair has begun to thin out around the front edges of my scalp. SCARY!! I scheduled an appointment to have my hair braided to give my hair a break from the wig and help let it breath.
My hair grew but it was weaker and thinner with every protective style and wig. I didn't notice the fragility tull a little too much lol. But I'm making a speedy recovery thanks for clarifying this. Will protien treatments be the way to restrengthen my hair and grow it thicker
Amazing video! Can you do a video on effects of perms on young kids/toddler hair? Also why is it that when your a kid with relaxed hair your hair is long but the older you get the hair tends to fall out/stop growing well having a relaxer?
Thank you sooooo much!! I've been wearing a wig for the past year with lots of breaks here and there. Will definitely sew in the satin piece while protective styling this winter. Thanks!!
My hair is natural, and short. I use my wigs about 2-3x a week and that's it. I do have a straight wig that I want to keep using, even after my hair is at the length I desire. I am wondering, would it be bad if I continue to use that wig? I figure that straightening my hair is worse than me wearing a wig for 4 days that is straight. Am I correct in this? I love your videos, they are so informative, and concise.
This video was very informative and much needed. I had planned to keep my wig on for 2 weeks without taking it off at night, but now I know that will thin out my hair. My mother used to say I have to let my hair breathe but I thought she meant for comfort not health. Didn't know about the silk scarf either. Going to take my wig off tomorrow, remoisturize my hair, and just wear the mini twists I had underneath! Sooo glad I decided to look up hair care!
I have been wearing braids over 4 yrs and i think i will try wigs and see if that helps me at this point, alot of people says wigs help grow out their hair
I'm thinking of only using my wig on the weekends and I'm thinking of using hair growth techniques shampoo and oil etc... To grow my hair out I'm also thinking of taking vitamins would this all be ok because someone messed my hair up and I dont like the way I look at all. I just want it to grow back.
Yes I enjoyed this video. By the way, starting in January, I plan on wearing mini twists in the roll and tuck hair style. I should have long enough hair and I hope that I won't have to wear wigs or crochet braids as often. Thank you.
My mom had an allergic reaction to human hair wig the first time she tried when I was like 6. I've never worn human hair and only synthetic for this very reason.
Okay, so this scared me because i use wigs when i was transitioning and now i am a month natural. I use wigs only when i go outside, or go to school. But when i go home i take it right off. Is that damaging?
+Ashley Crystal , obviously. so just because i wear a protective style makes me less natural? my hair has no chemicals in it, therefore i have natural hair.
I work from home and I’m not a huge fan of going out too often. I only wear my wig when I go outside, and I try to stick to a cute scarf and baby hairs style for summer (wigs are too hot). I should be fine under those conditions right?
I started doing the onion, garlic, and cayenne treatment as advertised on Greenbeauty about a month ago. I do it every other week. Since my edges and or hairline is bald what suggestions does Greenbeauty have for hair styling for those with bald edges; it is embarrassing as mentioned and I do not want to wear my hair out. As of right now, I have not had a wig on in two days. Also, I take my wig off at home after work. I take the wig off as often as I can. Is this enough to prevent my hair from thinning due to wig wearing. I only want to wear wigs until my edges hopefully fill in. Thank you.
@@neshiacole3036 wigs don't make your edges come out, if a person glues it down and snatches it off their edges then yeah. But just regularly wearing wigs doesn't mess up edges
I've recently just started wearing wigs to give my hair a break from being manipulated everyday. However in terms of the satin wig cap will they cause the wig to slip?
great vid. and besides having a medical condition I didn't realize so many wore the wig non stop like never taking it off even to bed. to each it's own though
What are your thoughts on folks who create a crochet wig on a netted cap that is sewn onto your own braids for long term wear? Is that safe and protective or not? Thanks so much!
It depends on how long term you're talking about but, other then that, I don't see anything wrong with it. As long its not too heavy or tight, you clean you scalp regularly and don't keep it on too long
Do you think 1 month is too long? I want to make sure my hair doesn't get damaged while in a protective style. I am mainly concerned about the band on the border of the cap that might rub against the hair and scalp and cause hair loss. My hair is finally healthy and filling in and I don't want to ruin it, lol! Thank you!
A month is not too long. As I mentioned in the video, make sure to take breaks. There's no reason to wear a wig 7 days a week. Also, don't ignore your concerns, if you are feeling any tension (small or large) then there is probably damage happening.
You said use SLS shampoo to wash, but what if your wig is dyed? That's one of the reasons I like wigs because I can have different hair colors, without having to damage my hair. Will using sheamoisture jbco and acv shampoo be enough?
Wow, I was just thinking of wearing a half wig for the colder & winter months for protective styling. I know how to be more prepared. Thanks for the info!
Thanks for this video. It's makes so much sense. I've been so dependent on my wig for more than two months now. To the point were the perimeter of my head (edges including the back of my head) Is thinning, fast! So now I'm looking for solutions to grow m back. To be honest it was thinning very slowly, and wearing the wig increased the speed. Although the rest of my hair is growing fine. I always see improvement, it just my edges that are my major concern now. I'm thinking of investing into a derma roller to renew the area of my scalp that is damaged. What do you think? Thanks again for your videos. It's soo helpful and thought through, and encouraging as well. You really remind your views to be patient and take practical realistic options. X
So sorry about the hair thinning you are experiencing. The most important thing is to stop/remove the culprit completely. Apart from that create a low manipulation hair regimen that keeps your scalp clean, hair moistured and your scalp free from tension. You can also experiment and try different methods. This most important thing is to stay consistent and to create a hair regimen that you can stick with.
Interesting never worn a wig before was thinking about it, what are thoughts on crotchet style would love to see a video breakdown from you on it. Love your videos so informative..
I tried the arganl ife. shampoo and after just one wash my hair is soft to the touch with some body and shine. My hair also tangles easily, especially at the roots and ends, and after using the arganlife. shampoo I can actually run my fingers right through my hair from roots to tips. The smell is also very light and pleasant. I work out everyday and while ı don't sweat a river, ı need to wash my hair with something that won't dry it out and this shampoo will be perfect for that
Was that a silk scarf sown in? Also if you do that, how does the wig stay on? I don't like combs, they grab my already thin and fragile edges, plus they hurt.
Color-treated hair needs more TLC b/c the chemicals used breaks down hair and makes it weaker. So it doesn't take much to cause breakage. So, wigs are okay here and there but, super observant and change up what you are doing if you experience any discomfort of breakage. And make sure to deep condition your hair more often b/c wigs can cause your hair to dry out faster.
O Love She's not saying that wearing wigs is bad for your hair. She is just reminding us to take care of our hair. But to also not be too dependant on them. And if we are to wear them we need to wear them in a way, that it protects all of our hair, including our edges. Wigs are beneficial! X
For university I plan on getting a wig to wear on days when I don't have time to do my hair. How long would you recommend wearing one for? (I will remove it at night)
Great into as always. I worn my wig only twice as a break and only for a week at a time..corn rolled back. BTW I'm trying to order the real protein from the channel but it keeps saying I can't because of security????
I wear wigs every day because I don’t understand my hair. Its thin, so I can’t do twist outs or braid outs. Its 4c so I can’t do wash and go. I don’t know how to maintain a wash and go overnight even if I wanted to wear my hair out. I’m stuck in a wig! Help!
Wearing wigs is not horrible. Just make sure not to neglect your hair underneath or you will get to a point where your hair and scalp is so damaged that you "NEED" wigs. If you want to eventually stop wearing wigs, Come up with a consistent hair regimen that keeps your scalp clean and your hair strands lubricated and moisturized. To help wake up sleeping hair follicles and thicken up your hair, you should also include my Onion Juice recipe in your hair regimen. Here is a link to the recipe - th-cam.com/video/kv4hXO2wQaw/w-d-xo.html&lc=Ugx5Y0V1PLKtMQ1z0fB4AaABAg Remember that a hair regimen is no good if it's not consistent.
I understand this but how come a lot of people who wear lace wigs today have really long hair? And it’s thick, plus with frontals they’re usually glued on and that lasts further for about 2 weeks?
I think wig quality is better, the lace on alot of wigs doesn't seem to be as stiff anymore. Just my observation, I think wig grips have also helped alot of people along with the glue less method of applying lace. If someone knows how to already properly moisturize and protect their natural hair, it will only flourish. I know I've been having positive results as far as my hair growth with wigs. My hair is still thick around the edges and in the back. I have also mastered my moisturizing technique and cut my hair, to prevent split ends. I feel like people shouldn't wear wigs as a protective style until they fully learn how to take care of their hair. If protective styles were levels wigs would be one of the higher levels, not for a novice, it is a lot of work.
.i wear wigs to help with my natural hair growth but I only wear it when I'm going out which can be just a few hours a day maybe two to three times a week is that ok?
Well wigs are a protective style and your hair always needs protective styling so you can have waist length hair and still want to wear wigs as a protective style its not just for getting to a certain length and stopping...
j t you can save your edges if you don't wear the wig combs maybe try using a elastic band or try securing it down with Bobby pins. maybe try rubbing your edges everynight with a oil.
I agree with everything you're saying every word resonates with what's happening with my hair now.. my plan of action supplements individual braids loose taking on water but I ain't my hair is brittle like crazy I'm using jojoba oil on it it seems to really quickly but it seems to dissipate quickly as well. Wish me luck in all this is depressing I thought my hair you know I still have some of the lens but it is thin as all get-out I've been suffering with this for a little while now I don't know what to do with her just to give up any type of extension at all and you know this is not the life I want to live thanks for listening
dear Green Beauty Channel, my hair used to be around a 4c texture and now it's around a 3c 4a 4b texture and it started to turn this texture when I was 20. It's also very dry and sometimes I have a greasy scalp. Most of the time id just wear extentions or braids without care pls tell me what u can do 2 help thanx. P.S I'm 21 almost 22.
Do you have a way of measuring the satin before sewing it into cap? I asked because I used a satan bonnet with the edges already cut off and used for something else and tried it and got it a little tight.
That's fine to consistently use wigs everyday for no more then three months at a time. Given that you continue to clean and treat your hair underneath. But, try to take a one to two month break in between. Think of it like when you take breaks from braids. If you don't want to take a break that long, you can try wearing the wig three to four times a week. Of course, this affects people differently, so always keep in mind to pay attention to your hair ... is it getting thinner overall? are your edges getting thinner, does your scalp itch more often then usual?

I've always worn a satin bonnet as I wear wigs with fringes. I too didn't think of sewing satin/silk into wig. Excellent tip. Thanks!
Sewing the satin scarf to the inside of the wig was such a good idea. Why didn't I think of that?
I hate how we have to be so extra with our natural hair. 😭 we struggle so much.
tbf, anyone who wears a wig too much will have this problem of drying and thinning with too much use.

I saw a long time ago where one TH-camr would sew in clips or bobby pins to secure a loosely tied scarf.
new subbie you saved me ..my hair has been growing down my back flourishing using wigs while oiling my scalp every day at night
Do you have a video on how to sew a satin scarf as a wig lining?
This wig video is 9 years old but very informative. One of the best and informative videos online the proper use of wigs and how they can cause damage
Thanks happy to help 💚
You're a very intelligent lady. Thanks for sharing !
Thanks
Thanks You :-)
loved loved loved this video.
Tatiana Ragland That's a good question. Wish someone knew the answer.
Thank you sooooo much!! I've been wearing a wig for the past year with lots of breaks here and there. Will definitely sew in the satin piece while protective styling this winter. Thanks!!
trypeacealways Great make sure you spread the word ... There are so many people blindly breaking off their hair with improper use of wigs
I sure will!! Thanks for the great info!
That 3D is so cool. It makes me want to start a show just about hair education.
So no wig caps again. Thanks for the video. Very educating.
I'm surprise you do not have a million subscribers, you are AWESOME.
I'll stick to mini twist, comb coils, and headscarfs/wraps of silk. Still, my mother and sister wear wigs so I will give this info to them.
Yes I enjoyed this video. By the way, starting in January, I plan on wearing mini twists in the roll and tuck hair style. I should have long enough hair and I hope that I won't have to wear wigs or crochet braids as often. Thank you.
great vid as always and great tips def dont ignore your hair! :) thankz for sharing! :)
Thank You :-)
this is why I started to use synthetic wigs.
Are they better?
My mom had an allergic reaction to human hair wig the first time she tried when I was like 6. I've never worn human hair and only synthetic for this very reason.
what about synthetic wig should you co wash them.
Love the information here! What do you think about when the natural hair is in cornrows and using crochet hair extensions?
I’m confused as to how 55 people gave this video a thumbs down... you’re awesome and I’m so happy to have found you channel. Keep up the amazing work!
thank you so much, looking to buy one tomorrow that matches my own, didn't know what you just informed, thanks a lot, coming from Barbados
No problem, you can also just wear a silk/satin bonnet under a wig as well.
Okay, so this scared me because i use wigs when i was transitioning and now i am a month natural. I use wigs only when i go outside, or go to school. But when i go home i take it right off. Is that damaging?
How are you natural if you always wear wigs?
+Ashley Crystal, because my hair has no chemicals in my hair, thats how im natural. just because i wore a wig means it altered my hair texture.
Christel Folaj so if you wore weave would you consider yourself natural as well?
+Ashley Crystal , obviously. so just because i wear a protective style makes me less natural? my hair has no chemicals in it, therefore i have natural hair.
Christel Folaj I don't think so.
I work from home and I’m not a huge fan of going out too often. I only wear my wig when I go outside, and I try to stick to a cute scarf and baby hairs style for summer (wigs are too hot). I should be fine under those conditions right?
Is the thinning permanent? Very informatve & detailed video:)
Thank you.
Jannis Sherrod How do you expect them to grow if you keep wearing wigs your poor edges are being snatched right out.
@@neshiacole3036 wigs don't make your edges come out, if a person glues it down and snatches it off their edges then yeah. But just regularly wearing wigs doesn't mess up edges
Right on time video. I just removed my Marley Twist & want to change to a wig for the cold months (off & on). Thanks
I have a question. Would wearing satin scarfs or other head dresses cause the same effect as wearing wigs? The thinning of the hair ?
I hate wasting good product on fake hair
I've recently just started wearing wigs to give my hair a break from being manipulated everyday. However in terms of the satin wig cap will they cause the wig to slip?
You can hold it in place with bobbi pins
great vid. and besides having a medical condition I didn't realize so many wore the wig non stop like never taking it off even to bed. to each it's own though
Sorry for all the typos :-)
Really appreciate your feedback, thank you so much!
You said use SLS shampoo to wash, but what if your wig is dyed? That's one of the reasons I like wigs because I can have different hair colors, without having to damage my hair.
Will using sheamoisture jbco and acv shampoo be enough?
I love your channel so much you always give me year info!! Thanks you so much and great job in everything I can see the effort in every video
Thanks :-)
I learn so much from you. You definitely cater to my inner geek 🥰. Thank you for the excellent explanations ❤
Wow, I was just thinking of wearing a half wig for the colder & winter months for protective styling. I know how to be more prepared. Thanks for the info!
Great ! Thanks
GreenBeauty Thank you so much for your reply. It means a lot. I'm going to try my best. I just need to be patient with myself. 🌻🌺💕
Interesting never worn a wig before was thinking about it, what are thoughts on crotchet style would love to see a video breakdown from you on it. Love your videos so informative..
Hi, does this information also apply to lined hats & scarfs, or are they safer?
I absolutely love this channel.
WOW I LEARNED ALOT JIST NOW!
Thanks
No thank you!
I really love your videos!! Thank you for all the helpful tips!
Great tips!
Thanks :-)
Any suggestions on where to purchase a natural kinky twisted wig?
I liked the curly wig in the video! Which company makes that style and do you know the exact name? Thanks
Thanks for the tips! I'm thinking of purchasing a special occasion wig.
Hi thanks for this informative video, can you also do this if you have perm n your hair and are having thinning edges and hair isnt growing? Thanks
what about color treated hair, is it safe to keep it under a wig for long periods of time? how bad could the breakage get?
Color-treated hair needs more TLC b/c the chemicals used breaks down hair and makes it weaker. So it doesn't take much to cause breakage. So, wigs are okay here and there but, super observant and change up what you are doing if you experience any discomfort of breakage. And make sure to deep condition your hair more often b/c wigs can cause your hair to dry out faster.
+Green Beauty Channel ™ Thank you so much 😄❤
So if I don't want to wear my thin natural hair out, and keep it in twists under my wig.. it's still bad for my hair???
O Love She's not saying that wearing wigs is bad for your hair. She is just reminding us to take care of our hair. But to also not be too dependant on them. And if we are to wear them we need to wear them in a way, that it protects all of our hair, including our edges. Wigs are beneficial! X
For university I plan on getting a wig to wear on days when I don't have time to do my hair. How long would you recommend wearing one for? (I will remove it at night)
Awesome informative video! Thanks Nikky!
Great into as always. I worn my wig only twice as a break and only for a week at a time..corn rolled back. BTW I'm trying to order the real protein from the channel but it keeps saying I can't because of security????
Thanks :-) trying ordering it via email to support@greenbeautyproducts.com with your order details.
Here is a link to the recipe - th-cam.com/video/kv4hXO2wQaw/w-d-xo.html&lc=Ugx5Y0V1PLKtMQ1z0fB4AaABAg
Remember that a hair regimen is no good if it's not consistent.
Moon-childStarry-eyed How often do you wear wigs and keep in the cornrows in?
Thank you sooooo much for these helpful tips.
im actually trying to grow my hair back out and i found your video really helpfull
what afro wig did you use in your video...I like the wig, it look natural. Thanks
Great video!!! Amazing and well rounded advice. I got all of what I was looking for in terms of how to wear wigs and soon much more! Thank you :)
Again great content! Good video.
.i wear wigs to help with my natural hair growth but I only wear it when I'm going out which can be just a few hours a day maybe two to three times a week is that ok?
That is okay, as long as you pay attention to the health of your hair and edges.
Hi please answer this. Is it bad to wear wigs 5 times a day in every 9 hours?
Well wigs are a protective style and your hair always needs protective styling so you can have waist length hair and still want to wear wigs as a protective style its not just for getting to a certain length and stopping...
Your contents are so on point! always💯👍🏾👍🏾💖💕
Great tips sister.
Hi can someone direct me to direct me to a video on how to protect your edges while wearing a lace front wig?? I honestly need to find one .
j t you can save your edges if you don't wear the wig combs maybe try using a elastic band or try securing it down with Bobby pins. maybe try rubbing your edges everynight with a oil.
Myway r u straighten it ? Or did out naturally change texture ? Ive hearr ppl hair change texture when sick
Do you have a way of measuring the satin before sewing it into cap? I asked because I used a satan bonnet with the edges already cut off and used for something else and tried it and got it a little tight.
As always very informative :) thanks sis' !
One other thing would love for you to do a video on henna and indigo. Thank you.
Thanks ... Will do!
Yes good idea. Thank you.
GreenBeautyChannel™ Oh great will be on the look out for this video. Look forward to it. Thank you.
thanks for the information bless
Thanks for watching :-)
Can i also use box braids as protective styling?
I just bought my first wig, a lace front Senegalese Twist unit. If I wash it like you recommend, would the twists come undone?
You would have to wash it very gently.
This was very educational! Thank you!
You are amazing
Thank you so much for all you do
I have learned so much from you
I just wanted to say thank you
Great video wow this is great information have to share!!
How about if you wear the wig almost every day and when you get home during the evening you take it off, is that okay?
That's fine to consistently use wigs everyday for no more then three months at a time. Given that you continue to clean and treat your hair underneath. But, try to take a one to two month break in between. Think of it like when you take breaks from braids. If you don't want to take a break that long, you can try wearing the wig three to four times a week. Of course, this affects people differently, so always keep in mind to pay attention to your hair ... is it getting thinner overall? are your edges getting thinner, does your scalp itch more often then usual?
