Australian here - We don’t do Thanksgiving here, that’s mainly a US celebration although we wish our American friends a happy thanksgiving - we tend to make Christmas our big family celebration and of course we are thankful every day for our friends and the kindness of strangers - Happy days!
Canada has a Thanksgiving with turkey, etc. but it is on a different day than the USA. In Germany they have Erntedanke Fest, but this is only in the churches. Giving thanks. Those trails full of rocks are stressful to me. I just can't do those anymore. Walking along the river out of Porto to the ocean and along the coast is so beautiful. Stay overnight in Matosinhos. Switching to the central after Villa do Conde brought me to the most gorgeous waterfalls and forests absolutely full of Callia lillies. This was in April. Must have passed dozens of these waterfalls. Staying overnight in Valencia inside the fortress was cool. We had a beautiful sunset and walked across the bridge into Spain at dawn. I thought the central route out of Porto was one of the original Camino routes? For those who find the route out of Sarria too full, stay in the smaller towns and you miss all the crowds. I walked many mornings for hours, basically in solitude. This was last year in May, when the CF was super busy. Perhaps cut your daily km down, to skip the most popular towns. Barbadelo, Morgade, Ventos de Naron, Eirexa, Portos, etc.
Hi my friends 🙂 I'm going back to Galicia next month, i'm going to walk a part of the camino Portugues. I will be spending christmas in Santiago. Did you two ever do a winter camino...? 😘
I want to do camino primitivo next may with my dad, but we are both light sleepers and he doesn't want to say in albergues. Are there other types of accommodation along this way?
Hello. I did the Primitivo this summer. Of course there are alternatives. B&B, private albergues and hotel, one day i even booked an apartment all by myself. It will only be much more expensive thoug. Buen camino !
ingles , from A Coruña 4 days , however , too much pavement ,, better to walk from Santiago to Fisterra/Muxia 5/6 days (really beautiful ) plus you finnish by the ocean
@@caminotellers Allora Ciao Erica ! E buon cammino, sempre ! I have a question: do you have some suggestions or hints on "post-camino depression" ? Since i came back from the camino del norte + camino Primitivo in late august i am struggling with deep deep depression and a sense of meaningless existence. On the camino i felt complete, free and realized, like in heaven. Here at home now feels like hell. I just would like to get on the camino again and stay there forever. Thanks ! ❤ you are great!
Nice overview.

The older I get, I don't know if I will get the opportunity to experience at least one camino. I might consider a short one.

You can definitely do the Camino and stay in private accommodation!
I imagine many countries have their own version of celebrating a day of thanks....
Which camino is the shortest?
