Yes why not. For this you should have good programming knowledge. But colleges generally allow EE and ECE students to get into CSE field. You'll have to check which college is allowing for CE.

No course is best. All depends on the individual. His/her performance and dedication decides future. Image processing, Computer Vision, Control and Robotics, etc are some field which require knowledge of both EE and CSE.

Purely Project based selection.
If someone has external funding like csir, dst inspire or any other (not gate i.e institute fellowship), then selection is more feasible.
As per my experience. I hv also attended but no one selected in that project.

Yes. IIITD selection focuses more on your research interest. GATE is not even mandatory. You can apply. Surely you will get call for interview. Chances are more in winter session.
Sir in which language they take the interview.... Only in english ...or I can use hindi to explain the things asked by them..
English is preferred. But you can give in Hindi too. It depends mostly on colleges.
Since, most colleges have faculties who have done their studies abroad and are from South India or WB, they do not understand Hindi well. So, giving in English will be better. Also, on joining PG in IITs you will have to study in English only. So, better prepare it earlier.

Will it take full 5 years or it can be done in less time too?
Course work is some what more than general phd degree. So it will obviously take minimum 4 to 5yr. But one can complete in 3 yr exceptionally.

Generally in last Aug or start of Sept.
And sem starts in Jan
For mtech how much cgpa is needed??
For Mtech, having high GATE score is must. CGPA is not an important criteria in Mtech selection.

Yes, IIITD even offers PhD without GATE with monthly stipend.
Usually, for PhD GATE is not a criteria for selection. It is used as a criteria for shortlisting only.
