Dude, sailors in the 15th/16th centuries thought that travelling in search of the "new world" was an adventure, this pirate fought ninjas, wizards, medusas, and whatever shit came to him, and did it all with an annoying parrot.
Wow, this version of the game is vastly different than the Tengen NES game. I just wish this version had a scantily clad princess chained up in a cave to save at the end (you do save a damsel midway through, but it's not the same).
That's the thing - I don't ever recall seeing this game in the arcades anywhere. When I played it on C64 and Amiga as a kid, both versions were both so woeful that I never gave the game a second thought! All these years later on TH-cam, I've found out it was actually an arcade, and a decent one at that!
You gotta love the parrot just out here commentating. Do wish he got active tho, beak these fools, Polly!
8:50 - The original "Pirates vs Ninjas" experience.
That bird keeps saying "Ricky Gervais!", and It's driving me nuts!

This video makes the game seem much easier than it is.
We're rich? I don't see you helping out bird. There were ninjas and wizards all over the shop while the pirate was earning that money.
Yeah who's this fucking "we"?
why did disney bother making the Pirates of the Caribbean movies when this existed?
Sucks this never got a Genesis port, I'm sure it could have nailed this
Nice job as always. Now to sail the seas and find a bank to deposit this so no further wizards can cash in on you.
My new favorite game!
Literally thought this was Maddox the Video Game at first.
2:11 - parrot: "WTF?"
3:02 - parrot is annoyed.
Imagine playing this game somewhere in Casa Bonita.
Awesome!

Great music & art.
Reminds me of later Story of Thor (Beyond oasis)
Cute music but annoying sound effects XD I would turn them down or even off when playing. Otherwise looks like a fun game, never played it.
@@pixiebit4477 that parrot is so annoying
Hey One Eye, what does the booty say about your wealth?
Man, seeing the original arcade release is crazy considering that every single port of this turned out to be such garbage.

I remember how the adverts for this game back in the 90's tried to present it as a vile and gory game, when it actually wasn't. Not even for its time.
I didn't recognize it from the NES version.
This is pirate Dark Souls
Wow i never see this game... what is the year of release ?
1989
I never had the chance to play the arcade original. I only played the Amiga 500 port and man, was it awful...
That port was complete garbage indeed and an insult to the Amiga
