- I know vkei and goth are wildy different things but they cross over from time to time and I want to use this boom of malice mizer on tiktok to promote other cool japanese goth bands, ok?
And yeah the malice mizer demo is goth and ill die on that hill.

Malice Mizer isn't goth music in it's vast mayority. The term "gothic" in fashion likes to be thrown around a lot, and sure lots of goths like the style, but the band has only a few goth songs, specially tetsu's era. Listen to the guitars, the drums and the voice in sadness, nothing to do with Gackt's pop or Klaha's neoclassicalpoprock (or smth)
@@thatguynamedfausto i won't say that klaha era isn't fully goth. goth music includes some neoclassical projects too and i have several goth friends that consider klaha era goth because of the assosiations and the sound of some gothic rock songs. but that's all just my opinion only.
speaking about tetsu era, malice mizer started as a goth band and if gackt didn't happen i guess voyage could’ve also been death-rock-post punk-ethereal-wave-ish
idk anything abt them but goth ≠ dreasing black, goth is a music based subgenre *EDIT: Nvm, I just find out their songs are Darkwave, Gothic Rock and Synthpop. So they’re ig??* 💀
@@iateacarandilldoitagain nah, very little syntpop, very little goth rock. They had three singers: with first one they made some sort of neoclassical goth thingy (here's the demo), second one was full onto pop and third one had pop and neoclassical opera rock wannabe phases. Love it, but only reason they swear it's goth is because "omg so vampire-core!"
They're Gothic, not Goth. Similar elements, but not fully the same. Vkei is mostly a visual thing not music thing, and there's different types of them. However, a lot shared similar moods/tones in their music.

You should check out BUCK-TICK then! :D Romance, Dress and Kuchizuke by them are pure goth energy! They are also one of the main founders of the Visual Kei movement. They should be on every vkei list lol

Nah, these bands are goth and some subgenres of vkei have goth influences, but others have nothing to do with it
