The weight of these cabs is so tempting but I have seen too many comments about how fragile they are. Have we reached the limits of how light-weight cabs can be without being too fragile to survive in the real world of bar gigs and being tossed into the trunk. What ended up happening with your cab and the 5-year warranty?
I had Options and they were supremely pro about it! Because I live in Serbia the gvt would have charged me taxes on a second unit had I opted to return it, which GR Bass was totally willing to accommodate. In the end they sent me a new set of rails and corners, and when my tools get shipped over I will think about repairing it - IF I'm gigging with it, but for now its in my Studio, so I honestly have not bothered. I think it took something like a week for us to get the parts from Italy, and the actual president of the company contacted us that same business day, and was a total sweetheart! The thing sounds great and IT IS LOUD - and a CLEAN loud. I have it paired with their 1400w RMS amp and in my studio I actually use that as my main playback for everything that I don't use headphones for. We were going to get some low level studio monitors but when I was doing my Soundproofing Tests we were playing various tracks through it and when Miles Davis' Solar came through the clarity just became incredibly apparent - my MIXER was the weak link here - not the cab or amp! after playing and spinning wax through it IU knew that I had made a great purchase. the fact is that you PROBABLY have no need for 2800w Peak power, and the smaller cabs are harder to damage. Either way the amp is INSANELY good, The whole set up is only bested by my 90s Bag End rig. That's a great-looking cab but it's apparently fragile! Not a good first impression!
