    Great work being so specific on your numbers! Most people have absolutely no clue how much they save / spend.

    I made a budget for the next year as well just yesterday and so I’m glad to see others planning ahead as well! It’s so great how being fully aware of what’s coming vs what’s leaving makes such a huge difference in all the little choices that add up over time. I made a quick shorts video on where I’m at in my debt 💸 journey as well. I just started working my new job as well in September and paid off all my debt by the new year! Thank goodness for low living expenses 🙌🎉 you got this!

    Good plan to max out your Roth IRA (in 2024 and beyond). I wish all 25-year-olds would make that a priority. Good job!

    Loving the goals and loving the way you are prioritizing retirement while keeping an eye on those loans. So excited to be here for the ride.

      Keep the content coming! At your schedule on a finances binges recently for sure . Your authenticity and production comes across a lot better to me then channels with 10s and hundreds of thousand subscribers. Ik it’s not everything and a fair metric the “validity” of opinion and sponsorships come with more subscribers I think . Happy to be along for your life and TH-cam journey take care!

    An idea for the 2024 Roth is when you come close to the end of the contribution periode, to take some from your savings to max it out, and then replenish your savings with side husle mony, while you contribute to your 2025 Roth. Love your videos.

    It's interesting to me how different situations can develop for similar people.
    I make about the same as you and am 24 years old but I live in a country that subsidizes education, which means I was debt free from the beginning. My current plan for age 30 which is attainable is 250k USD, If I would have had a 125K student loan weighing me down I don't think I would have had the financial base to leave my parents'house.
    But it seems you're very well versed at budgeting, thank you for sharing your journey.

      It's very fascinating! I am honestly grateful for my debt because I don't think I would have taken charge of my finances without it, but man if I knew what I knew now and didn't have debt I'd be sitting pretty! thanks for watching!

    To the best of my knowledge, the 10,000 steps is based upon an average step length and miles. Certainly the inexpensive pedometers have some reliability issues. See what you can do for a mix of miles and steps counting when assessing your 10,000 steps goal.

    • @sandraonabudget
      @sandraonabudget  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You’re right, the steps are based on an average! I'm more focused on being intentional with my movement, and having a goal (even an arbitrary one) helps with that!

    • @terryhenderson424
      @terryhenderson424 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @sandraonabudget You are one of that herd of T's (PT, OT, ST, and i forget the other one that pops up periodically) so should realize the power of steps. It looks like you've got some steps at home, consider doing some counted rounds on those steps with an emphasis on "proper posture".

    Hey Sandra, where are you learning financial literacy from? As a 25yr old with about the same income, I’m curious how you’re educating yourself? I rely heavily on YT and the wisdom of my older coworkers.

    • @sandraonabudget
      @sandraonabudget  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I was kind of forced into financial literacy when I was figuring out how to pay for grad school, and I was lucky to have parents who were financially savvy. I have learned a lot from creators like Ramit Sethi, Erin Confortini, and Her First 100K.
      I have a pretty clear vision with what I want from life and it's not necessarily to make as much money as possible, but rather to have the time and flexibility to do what I want- which is to travel and pursue my own hobbies. So I'm just putting my money where my dreams are and using the guidance of others to get there!

    In your line of work quality footwear to include shoes, socks, and maybe even lycra/ spandex tights in liue of support hose are important. Will your c,othing budget allocation cover these items by the time they are projected to be needed?

    • @sandraonabudget
      @sandraonabudget  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This is a really great question and part of why I started a savings bucket focused on clothes- I really don't spend a lot on personal items so I have been able to cover clothing purchases in my monthly spending- my job also does give us a stipend for these things so it's mostly covered there. I like to really wear things out before I replace them, for example I finally bought new shoes once my toes were poking through, so my purchases are few and far between

  • @davidmoore3963

    That's cool to see you thinking long term by investing more into Roth rather than paying off your debt right away. Just curious, what is your interest rate on your loan? Do you value the mental freedom of being debt free at all or are you purely focused on maximizing your money on paper?

    • @sandraonabudget
      @sandraonabudget  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@davidmoore3963 I super duper value being debt free which is why I’m not pulling back to making just my minimum payments and will still be prioritizing my debt payments- my loans are between 5-7.5 percent so I could absolutely out earn them in the markets but I value being free from the financial obligation way more than yield! And that is very privileged because ultimately I can say that because I will still be able to put aside enough to have enough :)

    THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO!
    this is very informative
    I plan on using this video for my own financial planning as well
    let me ask you this, in your videos you were talking about how you took out a loan for graduate school
    is it still the norm to take out loans for grad school when your parents aren't helping to pay for graduate school?

    • @sandraonabudget
      @sandraonabudget  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There are a lot of different paths, I didn't have financial support from my parents for school so I chose to take loans, but other people save up in advance, choose state schools with lower costs, or seek out grants and scholarships. A majority of my cohort is in debt from grad school.

    Have you read a golden oldie titled "Rich Dad, Poor Dad"? It is a finance philosophy book but pretty readable. You can probably get it at the library or in e-book form.
