Well the most likely answer is that other people with disabilities make their disability their whole personality. And when he insults the only thing that those people have, they’ll get angry. I’m myself Autistic, but I don’t treat that as my whole personality, I don’t even view it as a weakness, I actually view it as a strength because of my brain being wired differently to other “Normal” people, I can think of things that others wouldn’t even subconsciously think. What I don't get is that if a handicapped person makes jokes about themselves it's considered degrading or inappropriate, but if someone like Ricky Gervais did the same it's simply considered humourous. Making other people laugh or smile makes you feel better even at your worst, I know that from experience and fully support RB's way of dealing with the situation he was born into.

What I don't get is that if a handicapped person makes jokes about themselves it's considered degrading or inappropriate, but if someone like Ricky Gervais did the same it's simply considered humourous.
Making other people laugh or smile makes you feel better even at your worst, I know that from experience and fully support RB's way of dealing with the situation he was born into.
