This song has a vibe that just conveys -- It'll be good, life's good despite its trials and there is peace, right here...right now! Thank you Bear's Den for this lively, calming and enchanting masterpiece of yours.
With all these songs nowadays that are written without pure emotions and just for likes, I will hold onto this genuine and beautiful piece of art for the rest of my life
Sing a song for the daughters of Magdalene All tied up in their white ribbon. November came and before I got your letter I will love you better, I will love you true. Everyday I would wait by the gates for you, With time how your heart withdrew. You said I never understand the pain or share the shame, but you know that I want to. But you give me hope and now you take it away, You took my love and now you celebrate. When the morning comes, no I don't believe In my God, oh my God how could you take her from me? So I told, and the sisters of mercy came by your school just yesterday. I never meant for to cause you any pain I wanna make it better, make it go away. So sing a song for the daughters of Magdalene, all smothered neath the white ribbon. If Mary knew how she was being used, so misconstrued how you were being used. But you give me hope and now you take it away, You took my love and now you celebrate. When the morning comes, no I don't believe In my God, oh my God how could you take her from me? You give me hope and now you take it away, You took my love and now you celebrate. When the morning comes, no I don't believe In my God, oh my God how could you take her from me?
The last lines: "I will never love again with all my heart; it just falls apart every time I try" is not on the recorded version on the CD, right? Wonder why.
@@user-be8uy6jg3y I came to comment what you've already stated. You can tell who's been a real fan for awhile. I'm in the states and these guys are highly underrated here!!
I think that implies the churches celebration of the ”saving of fallen women” as a righteous act. They gave “hope” of a better life and in fact represented a new type of abuse. I always thought it was about the Magdalene Laundries, to me the lyrics fit.
Just listen to this at least 10 times in a row on Spotify then came here. What a tune
My personal favorite from their album

What a song - what a subject. Magdalene Launderies - Joni?
The last lines: "I will never love again with all my heart; it just falls apart every time I try" is not on the recorded version on the CD, right?

yes, I thought about it too.I personally love this version better.
It is on there. At the End he says it, but you have to listen very closely.
they used to perform under the name Cherbourg, those lyrics come from their song "Never Love Again" th-cam.com/video/53RmxAbRzQo/w-d-xo.html

@@McMagpie Cheers mate! Simply can't get enough of these guys to this day
Is this a reference to that Magdalene Laundries? Does anybody know? I thought so but the lyrics about her celebrating didn't fit.
