That’s what I say. I was a mere kid of 40 in 1990. That’s when I left the western English speaking world so I missed this and only discovered it last week. What else is there I missed? Why is it I don’t know any popular TV and movie stars and not interested?
It was 1992, I was 15 and I had gotten myself into a 21+club. I was 6'2" and had facial hair so it wasn't too hard to imagine why they'd let me in. I had received this album as a present from my Mom. She was pretty cool and had some amazing friends in the fashion, hair, makeup world of 1989 Los Angeles. I danced me ass off to this album for at least 2 years. Shortly after I got this album we moved to Spokane Washington and there was nothing there that mattered when it came to pop culture and music. This album saved my life until I met some pervy 19 year old that lived on my block. He had just moved from Germany and he had a bunch of new music for my desperate little ears to drink in. Fuck I miss the 90s
First time I went clubbing was when I was 16 (I snuck in with my friend's Id.) This song was playing so loud and then I saw my crush across the room.. I was so nervous but so excited! It’s crazy how music can bring back those unforgettable memories 🥰
Let them have their own fun with the music of their choice. I was born in 80 but I was into the alt grunge scene during this time. Wasnt until yearslater i actually enjoyed this music. And I had a lot of fun too.
the early 90s era (1989-1992) was basically the highest evolution of 80s electronic pop music. It was bizarre how the sound of Cathy Dennis/Black Box/CeCe Peniston/Crystal Waters suddenly disappeared, and was replaced in 1993 by the much more acoustic & introspective sound that people today generally associate with 90s music. The early 90s are a unique era separate from the rest of that decade.
Yes...It went from Happy to Sad on the radio(Corporations Decided). Those who were smart all headed back to the underground where it was still happy & pumping all night long! The Golden age of House Music.
When this came out, it was rejected by the underground. This was seen as pop commercial music. When it could no longer sell in “pop/ commercial” music numbers, and grunge took over, and the entire singer/songwriter coffee shop thing happened, music like this had nowhere to go, except for the club.
I remember my father had a CD with 90s music 🎼🎶 growing up I loved hearing these songs 💖 reminds me of my childhood days. Yes, the commercial did bring me here.
Ohhhhh yes it will. It's a very good song, but not a classic. Classics live. For instance "Stardust", "West End Blues", "Hey Jude"(for that matter just about every Beatle's song), "The Sound of Silence", "Stairway to Heaven", "Both Sides Now". Look them up and have a listen. You'll thank me. And one more thing, yes, this is a super song to groove to. cheers.
@@flemingcourt I disagree, just because a song isn't a classic doesn't mean it's dead. As long as it's sampled/refrenced in other works it's still kept alive. Of course, I don't know if this song was ever sampled but it was refrenced in family guy!
Never a better feeling when I was drunk and this song came on a the club, everybody hit the dance floor!! It was like the world was united. Miss those days....
+Kable Molina Lol, man ive always thought that too.Tho I have heard that Yuzo Koshiro, the guy who made the music for streets of rage, was inspired by late 80's and early '90s dance/club music so im pretty sure this was one of his inspirations.
I miss the 90s music, arcades, malls, no social media, going outside and playing with friends on the weekends, Saturday morning cartoons, actually talking on a phone. Different times we live in now. Set me free!!!!!

You mean Chicago house
Totally agree, thank God I grew up with it!

Anyone else is going through their favorite jams thinking about life back in the days? Please tell me I'm not the only one✌🏼️
Somehow listening to Erykah Badu made me want to listen to house.

You're not the only one!
Definitely not the only one! 😊
Your not the only.....! This is real music.
Whenever Black Box would come on at a club, I would jump up and start dancing like a maniac. Good times!

Will Ritter this the stuff the department stores use to play in New York City lol
I agree totally. Can't call it a decade of music unless you include all genres from every year in the history of it.
Yes...It went from Happy to Sad on the radio(Corporations Decided). Those who were smart all headed back to the underground where it was still happy & pumping all night long! The Golden age of House Music.
So true, same thing happened to Disco, but Dance music always finds its way back to people's hearts, and their whole bodies lol

This song should never end😊
The kind of song you can play at a junior high school dance.
Real music period!!
Without a doubt, one of the GREATEST Dancefloor Anthems of all time.❤❤❤
I'm 23 and dancing in the nightclubs to this song... Thank you 1992❤

And.... Frankie Knuckles "Whistle Song".
This is the epitome of the transition from the 80s to the 90s...
Nice to see people still commenting on this in 2018. Such a 90's club classic.
Persevere it’s mainly because of the LG ThinQ phone.
