To me Metaphysics is any meta framework that emerges from a physical substrate. The most obvious example is money. Both a $1 bill and $100 bill weigh about 1 gram, there is no Physical difference between them. But the Metaphysical difference between the two bills is $99.

Another interesting point is how often people prefer a concrete, solid answer, & how uncomfortable they can be with no "true" answer, & I recently heard about the data that suggests conservatives are especially uncomfortable with a spectrum of possibilities, & that's one big reason that they can't handle modern concepts of gender, etc.

The answer to the headline question is NO, WE WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT CAME BEFORE THE (THIS) UNIVERSE. The only reasonable answer to that ontological question is "It's turtles all the way down", which is another way of saying "Please don't ask absurd questions. The human mind is incapable of comprehending the present universe much less the origins of the present universe or prior universes, if there were (are) any. We're only naked apes."

This is a great example of how common it is now that despite our having access to more information, history, etc, people commonly have barely a surface understanding of most things, & so much of that comes from the bad habit of not knowing media literacy & good research practices, & their faith or trust in strangers making videos for mostly entertainment. A perfect example of that is seeing people on the Quora site with an interest in mythology, & they like to create posts & answer questions, but its obvious that they aren't aware of our original sources & instead a lot of their learning comes from Tumbler & fan fic.

I seem to experience a single reality, but without independent attestation, it is merely 1 data point.
The vast majority of people also claim to experience a single reality. The addition of multiple data points on this question allows for higher probability of being correct.

It is why it is every where and why we cannot see it. But hey it is just a theory of my own. I am not a scientist. I just like to know about as much as I can about all things and try to make sense of it for myself. Maybe, I am wrong, but that is what science is about. Before one can even come close to finding the answer of this question, they need to first lay aside all their prejudice. This is a subject that can only be pursued Objectively.
Life on earth could never have progressed as far as it has Naturally. It had to have been aided along the way. It takes more faith for one to think otherwise.
Notice that the guest ran up against the problem; 'Out of nothing....something comes?'
It is like reflex that the dishonest's turn immediately to the Multiverse belief. However, the more polished researchers are aware that the mathematics are so insurmountable against this 'theory' that they fall into the clutches of the 'Boltzman Brain' pit. Where this problem brings one to the realization that it is more mathematically probable that we pop in and out of existence, occasionally realizing our existence. Absurd.
What circumstantial evidence we have that leads us to believe that there exists something beyond our reality (which brought about the universe) are abstract proofs from Jackson Galaxy's cat (spirit) chase, to Pam Reynald's and military hero Steve Gardipee's death accounts.
More circumstantial proof of existence beyond our reality are humanity's constant appeal to Objective truth, Objective morality, and Objective love.

If there was enough matter to overcome the expansion effect to recoalesce, a big crunch, then it would reach a criticality and re-expand in a continuous loop.
