dont be such a high rank then because in every video game if you are at the top rank than you are the low percentile of players and that mean LESS PEOPLE TO PLAY AGAINST; so of course it would take way longer than if you were at 17000 elo and not 25000. This cant be fixed unless they just put you against high diamonds but still give a decent ammout of elo but then you would have elo inflation and it would not be considered your real rank since you played against many people below you. So this is just bad people this game just has low player count sorry. Average players will have a funner time :(
Passive play in ranked oml. Stopped playing ranked after fighting a 23k elo freedom player (emo outfit ofc) He’d wait for me to engage first, double dodge even when feinting. Whole match took about 23 mins. Even tho I won somehow, it just shows that ranked is a literal shithole
I have tried using chronos or freedom when I got them with lucky spins in two of my three slots,and idk but I got bored of them pretty quickly,I mean yes it’s true that freedom is very hard to use with all the techs and mechanics,but passive is so boring to fight against,which is why I go with charge all the time
chronos is pretty fun if you aren’t just sitting around waiting to dodge, but freedom kinda feels like you’re either poking with hitman/whirlwind or you’re waiting to dodge with whirlwind (especially because freedom has both reduced health AND terrible block in whirlwind mode). i personally don’t use the smash mode much except for blocking attacks or mixing with other modes’ attacks. But yes the dodges on those styles are insanely powerful and should be changed in some way (they should still be powerful, but not a complete invincibility for full seconds type of gimmick)
same its a pain im only 18k and i hate it i keep using dif styles because i want enjoyment and so i keep changing styles each fight and i always fight passives with like ippo or kimura which need consistent damge or you just lose and thank god i played when they add like 3 anti passive systems but holy it a pain
I think one of the better ways to fix passive plays is actually applying the rules of boxing. Seven rounds, three knockdowns per round, and of course the scoring system. I'm not too familiar with how it works but if nobody is knocked down yet, it would go to scoring which makes keeping track of average landed and defended have a purpose.
Nah this won't help The only reason why being passive in real life boxing is allowed is because of the points And when you apply that rule to rank, your pretty much encouraging them to play passive

My personal opinion: Add a timer but make it result in a tie if it runs out. Each player gets low-rarity rewards (the equivalent of a non-ranked match) from the match and neither will gain/lose elo. This will discourage passive play because at that point all you get from playing passive is basic rewards you can get from doing any other match and thats it. So if you really feel the need to be a staller, you essentially forfeit your gains. But hey, at least you "didn't lose the match".
I actually like this idea a lot. Unfortunately this would make fighting passive players even more annoying but it would definitely decrease the amount of them a lot. This + passive nerfs would be an overall solid change!
the main issue about the ranked mode is, most of the players are using exploits, you can't even tell if they are exploiting or not. literally, they are unpredictable when it comes to ranked mode,it made me rage quit because the random bacon dude just used an exploit, just to win😭

the problem for me rn is the amount of trash servers, u cant choose a specific one in my case i hit unified and i was on like 120 ping, then i hop on ranked a week back and play a couple of matches, i dont get a single pd and momentum punches make it impossible for me to react consistently then when i do its literally just a normal dodge, i didnt get a single pd in 3 matches and ended up losing to the avg hawk and slugger u find
We need a randomizer option, where it’s like you can have it set to where it will pick random maps, gloves, knockdown animations and even rank entrance animations you already own when in a match / ranked. And like you said the ranked map feels boring, I 100% agree. I wish I could use the maps I already own in ranked.
They should actually make people in rank mode like how in the anime people show up to watch the fight cause it’s like going into an actual boxing match unlike fighting out of ranked mode your just sparing
The AS matchmaking is so random I’ve quit using counter, cuz if you for example play in India, it’ll sometimes teleport you to Japan, or etc. just giving the opponent free win
I think adding amateur boxing rules to ranked is the best option. 5 rounds with 3 min timer. Scoring system of how many punches have landed if nobody gets KO. 3 KOs and the winner have been decided. Dont know how well that works against passive player, but if it doesn't. I think the best way is to add UFC rule. If the player does not engage within 1 min or 30 secs, they will get 3 warnings. After the last warning, the player loses automatically and get 0 rewards.
lack of engagement could go both ways though. If a passive player is able to stall that much, then neither player has probably landed anything for some amount of seconds, even one of them is being active
only problem with this is that some styles deal more damage than others, and also passive players make it hard for the opponent to deal damage. for example if someone waits for 60 seconds to perfect dodge and then land a slugger M2, they’d have more “damage done per minute” if they were able to stall for those 60 seconds, whether that be by holding the S key, backdashing, slow M1s, good block management, etc
That's why I left rank matches, I gave up on it. My friends observed me and said I fight like a diamond but is just gold rank. Told them rank match is bad, lagging, ping lag, unfair match making.
Apart from the counter for the game, that the victory is decided by the number of blows thrown or landed, it would be a solution so that there are no passive players
The big issue is when sometimes in D3 when you lose to a smurf (18k or 17k RT) you lose 220 points, that's huge, but when you win you get 40 or 50 RT, it makes climbing to the champion rank even harder
a good way to nerf passive play overall is in a way guilty gear did, if ur walking back or just perfect doging all punches without fighting back (like cronos, smash, slugger, shotgun and others) will get the stats of negative (we saw that the ubg creators can do debuffs as for the blindness and imput reverse) as for negative it would limit ur dodges, cut ur stamina and if ur oponent hits u, they do a shit tone more dmg, it would make passive fighters very scared of getting the debuff, making them go for the atack
I feel like it would be kind of hard to implement this in the game. I’m unfamiliar with how Guilty Gear has done it, but as far as your description of it goes, it seems like it’s fairly easy to abuse this system. For example, a player can just walk backwards a lot but then move a tiny bit forward and throw punches in the air before resuming their stalling. And even if it’s based on how long it’s been since that player hit someone, it’d be equally as hard for their opponent to hit them because of the lack of engaging, so they’d both get the debuff and it wouldn’t be fair for the opponent.
Can't really compare GG to UBG.. - Walking forward in GG grants meters, the rate vary with characters but its a universal thing. Naturally, walking forward is what you want to do. - It's a 2-D Fighter with High/Low mixups, and there's no equivalent of a Perfect Dodge in Guilty Gear, moves are already unreactable to begin. The closest thing being Potemkin's newly introduced Armored Buster, which already requires a read to land to begin with.
My take on the back dash issue is to revamp the whole mechanic. Shorten the distance ofbackdash where you can still get hit if you backdash BUT, it can only avoid punches when timed right, so like a perfect dodge only, and put a point-second cooldown so players wont spam it or rely on it and will mostly use side dashes instead
UBG ranked should add a rounds system, let me elaborate. There are 4 modes depening on rank: Mode 1 (Silver) 2 min rounds for 4 rounds, 2 min rounds for 5 rounds. Mode 2 (Gold) 2 or 3 min rounds for 5 rounds, 2 or 3 min rounds for 6 rounds Mode 3 (Diamond) 3 min rounds for 5-6 rounds, 3 mins rounds for 6-7 rounds Mode 4 (Undisputed) 3min rounds for 5-9 rounds Extra mode: Title fight mode. Silver title match: 2 mins rounds for 6 rounds. Gold title match 3 mins 8 rounds: Diamond title match 3 mins for 10 rounds. Undisputed title match 3 min rounds for 9 or 12 rounds with a 4 kd limit, but damage is increased. All matches have a 30 second break inbetween rounds were health regens slightly, 5-10 percent max, 1-5 percent minimum. All these modes have a penalty for passive play: Penalty 1 Silver-Gold, Prediction: The red outline appears almost exactly when the key is pressed. Penalty 2 Diamond-Undisputed, Prediction + Expectation nerf: Expectation decreases the damage by up to 20 percent if the same pattern of passive play is repeated with a 1 second cooldown incase its just a stamina break recovery. in my opinion the game should keep track on how often you deal damage, and if you stall and back away, it should punish that by debuffing your stamina, block and etc, while agressive player get the buffs for these things. this will motivate players to play more agressive even without timer
I know what can be done. If you’re away from your opponent for more than 15 seconds, you get kicked and the other person wins. Unless you’re healing a massive amount of health. A tiny bit doesn’t count.
i played a ranked game yesterday against a very obviously smurfing bullet player, like 100 kds 17850 rt. Before we even started fighting bro said "19k rt, huh" because he know if i lost i would lose hundreds of points. I folded him 3-1 because he gave up against my charge but the guy was def like 21k or above, however since he was on the alt i only got like 150 points. ranked is evil.
The worst part about these types of encounters is that the higher you go in the elo system, it gets even worse. So it almost feels like you’re working towards having a WORSE competitive experience 🥲
Yeah this is kind of why I didn't like playing this game, sure I comeback if there are new styles or events, but that only lasts for like two days and I forget the game, I like ranking, but istg, this game's rank matches are so heinous and sweaty, that it's not even fun anymore :/
they need to add a system for like if the fight was neck and neck you get more elo so your rewarded for clutching matches that you thought you would have lost and punisted less for almost winning the fight
I think the loss of ranking instead of 55 it should be atleast 30 or 25 just two games to get you back on your original rank. 2 To fix the passive players yes adding timer is good and maybe can win by amount of punch that has landed so basically add a point system depending on punch is landed (not sure how passive yall talking like hit and run or just dodges multiple times that rely on pd only, Type of guy) if you get annoyed just become passive since your up on punch that is landed. 3. If yall hate the smurf ranking at this point just add a season reset the higher you are more rewards you can get like (crates spins, lucky spins, spins, coins, golves, unusual, etc) so then everyone would just try to get the rewards maybe rewards can be set on higher rank if new players wanna play rank it would be just better wait for the pros to get up the ranking to avoid getting rekt it won't take long. 4 matchmaking. Sure yes match making need to fix maybe according with ranks not the rank points or whatever you call it so like the ranks will be seperated in different servers so like diamond and only access diamond cant pick the lower rankings. If the match making is too long when you in higher rank (face it not a lot of people play ranking) then just face people in public servers, i know if no one wanna fight you cuz of your rank, also the game should add a mechanic that you cant reset on the game so that it wont ruin the fun (if they leave the game or aka RQ) they should penalized the person who left. (Idk what to penalized but i was thinking banned them from entering any matches in public server, but they can still leave in rank but at this point just gives the win for the winner which means increase ranking trophies), maybe to solve the problem for no one playing with you cuz of ranking, game should add back the bots that has the difficulty settings and maybe even rewards but not too appealing so like just spins, coins and crates or emote that is not that too appealing. I think thats my sharing of idea la if have anymore idea we can try to improve this idea maybe someday the dev or creator can see the opinions.
punches landed is complicated because some styles can land more punches per full stamina bar (for example, chronos can land a lot of M1s for each full stamina bar it has, especially in focus mode. But a style like basic wouldn’t be as good at it) I do like the season reset idea but some people might use alt accounts to reach the season reset limit faster so idk if it would stop alt account abusers
@TQIGaming hmm true also, unless they make it so like the m1 punches will have the same dmg as the points for example if bullet has a low m1 base dmg it would also be low point based same for m2 , and counter will give just slight extra more points (but this will result a very very difficult coding for the devs and the creator), And for the season reset maybe it will work for the main acc will drop back into normal ranking or no rank so main acc have to push, but smurfing is a problem we have to solve. Usually people smurf is either, the problem of people resetting and not fighting with the pro players which lead them to smurfing and rekt the newbies, I have another way or theory to solve this, is that in the public match up for when a newbie encounters a high rank player in the public server boxing match it will give them the x2 more rewards per knock down so 3 knock down in total. This would encourage players to accept defeat or to learn how does the opponent plays even when you lost you still get benefit, and for the high rank people when fighting newbies it would be just normal rewards. But now you may ask what if the smruf people uses that advantage to get the high rewards from the high rank people? Well you see my point here is trying to make people to less smurfing because probably the pro players get treated unfairly or ruin their fun, my theory works when people's fun are treated fairly. For me the biggest problem is playing on a region that is not mine, even if I'm the guy that should win by skill at this point ranked is just about being passive and having a region that Roblox cares about more (in terms of being the most beneficial for them to create servers because of people playing more on them) it just sucks
yes, I think it’s definitely meta to play passively and utilize the backdash, and I actually used to play like that myself because of how easy it is to rely on backdashing (I prefer countering and having exchanges now though). just needs to be nerfed and rewarded less
and I think Drowningsome should add subregions to each continental queue (for example, a separate queue for east coast, west coast, and central). Unfortunately though he can’t actually manage the server region choices himself because Roblox handles it on their end. But the separate queues would help imo
I think drowningsome could nerf passive play by coding the game to not allow chaining perfect dashes. So for example: After you pd once, the game would force you to actually start a combo (comboing right after the pd won't count) in order to pd again. Until you do that, you cannot pd again.
jus add a timer for each round, if nobody gets ko'd by the time of the 3 rounds then it goes to decision based on how accurate someone was (how many punches thrown to punches hit) how much the other person was running (if they werent hit or hitting for an amount of time they'd get a penalty on points during decision) and how many kd's there were, i know that there arent really "rounds" in ubg but if they did add them as a different way to win i feel it would encourage running to an extent but it would also encourage more rush playstyles since in my head the more punches you land will net you more points each round. So its a way to also come back too. if they were to implement a system kind of like how it is in ippo where you technically dont necessarily have to ko but you get more points if you do (ie you win), youd still win if you get 3 kd though 🤷♂. tldr : some kind of "point" system would make fighting differently more rewarding

back dashing/side dash against robe should cause a stunt or prevent PD so attacker should at least chase passive to the corner and able to do something
i think the score should also be influenced by the style like for example winning after 20 with a heavy hitter like slugger or iron fist should win you a less than taking 20 minutes with a style that does little to no damage like long guard considering that yk you dont do very much damage

just add the timer and some passive penalty to solve things, i commented this in a video of 7stacking but ill paste it here anyway: 1.add a 5 minutes timer, anyone who have lower health when the time runs out is the losing one for that round 2.add pd meter and full health every round like mma legends 3.add passive penalty card: when u play too passive and run around over and over to troll the opponent then u will receive the passive penalty card, when the times out and you still have this card then u will be lose for that round no matter how much health u got, you can only delete this card by playing agressively, the card will not disappear even if u play as a boxer puncher, u must play like an infighter(very agressive) to delete the card. but if u just play a lil passive like outboxer then u wont get the card, the penalty card only affects the first one who play passive and wont be able to affect the other until no one has the card. pls drowningsome dont nerf backdash its my life
I don’t think there should be any mechanics that make playing passively something that could lead to LOSING, because playing passively IS a strategy despite its negative reputation. I just think it’s a strategy that objectively takes less skill (instead of reading an opponent, or timing a dash, all you need to do is hold S and press space 🤦♂️), so you should be rewarded less if you’re relying on it. However, winning a match, no matter how passively you play, SHOULD be rewarded. Just not as much as playing with good reads, mix ups, reaction time, etc.
I also disagree with full health every round. It makes styles like iron fist extremely overpowered because they’d be able to one shot you earlier in the match with their ultimate, and the self inflicted damage from it would be restored next round. They’d also restore any lost health from self damaging M2s.
@@TQIGamingyeah i was thinking about the ults too so i suppose that ults should be weaker but with faster gain, it will encourage a faster gameplay and not ult relying(ironfist ult self dmg should be spent for the next round as hp limit if it kills). and about the passive penalty, it only punish the super passive players whose are mostly trying to troll you, a hitman player's passive level is still safe
Ideal for rank is to rework all the styles stats for examples all counter and dash based styles have below average block with improve m1 strings as for the infighting styles they need a higher block health to really get in and a slight improve hitbox m2 range to counter act the back dash but dashing back take half the stamina and some resistance for counter damage
I'll tell you something, I'm a passive player because I use counter and we know what that implies, but brother, even being passive I know very clearly that if I lost the fight, I lost, I'm not going to run, that to me It's disgusting, but what we can do?, if they haven't implemented anything useful besides a box and maps for Halloween, I hope they do justice

Actually Smurf accounts are a huge problem in the normal game mode (pvp normal matches) since many people use them to behave in a toxic way fighting against the top 1 of the server they are on. Considering that the majority of the UBG community are infants, many of them are filled with hope when they see how the top 1 on the server is defeated by an account with barely 20 knockouts, this is a serious problem because it causes newbies to constantly chase experienced players believing they have a minimal chance to win (they end up 3-0 lol) This causes experienced players to be accused of abusing newbies even though they are the ones who spend their time chasing them in the first place. In my personal experience I have experienced more than one tantrum because of newbies where the entire server jumped on me. for being an "abuser" with a user who is just starting to play. Basically, smurf accounts are responsible for promoting the toxicity of newbies towards experienced players, and unfortunately even if they are banned they can create another alt account very easily and continue acting like toxic monkeys on the game servers.
Personal take: Ranked section of any competitive game is just a cesspool of toxic players, there's no reason of sitting at undisputed champ beside boosting your own ego for what? Feeling better than people who just want to blow off some steam in a silly boxing game? If there was some genuine things beside just occasional cosmetics + title, I would understand it, but the general idea of ranked is extremely flawed and easily abusable in it's nature.
yeah no its definitely a huge problem since ive been hardstuck diamond 2 ive shouldve been a diamond 3 at the very best i can be but just for the dogshit matchmaking with undisputed rankers somehow ive went from 19450 to 18340 after just 2 losses at that point i just stopped and just been waiting for the Ranked V2

I always get put against people with like 18,000rt and 16000rt when I only have 13,000-14,000, that's y when I immediately join nd see someone this high, I just leave before the game can start. nd I know you shouldn't be intimidated by someone's rt but cmon.. someone with 18,000 that's using shotgun vs my slugger? nd after sluggers massive nerf yeah no.
They should really reduce the range at which they match some players. Personally though my honest advice is that when you’re at gold/diamond, don’t worry too much about the numbers, just play to learn your style and reading your opponent. Even when you get to champ rank I think the numbers are less important than fighting higher skill opponents and learning from it
I think what should drowning do is to add a timer only on ranked and if you lost a round on ranked but if you knockdown your opponent 2 times you will get lower in points lesser while if you lose 3 to 1 or 3 to 0 you will lose more points and when you use especific styles they will get a small de buff since most of the styles are over power for ranked so drowning should do big nerfs to styles that deserve nerfs and buffs to style that deserves buff such as switch hit 15 dashes to get static is stupid is better if you need lesser dashes to get static im my opinion so that’s what I think should be fixed in ranked

I thing mma time is good for someone that fight passive time but that make bad too because when I try to comeback or my health just low more than the another player but I ultimate on enemy but when they don't dead and the time is low they just can try to running for win
I lost to some exploiter in a deadpol costume using freedom who would get right in your face and perfect dodge everytime, you can't trick him with feints or anything because it isn't him dodging, so he just counter punches everything never losing health. It was actually impossible.
As a console player i have problems with ranked more towards to matchmaking with servers instead of passive players. Yes, they are a problem too but they should give a penalty those who just play too passive and stalling matches and fixing the problem with matchmaking.
Showing the style each of you are playing on also can just make people dodge if they see it as unfavorable like a shotgun matched with counter is basically a guaranteed dodge by the shotgun
yeah I’ve had pretty bad experiences with it. One time I wasn’t in my own region and somehow I got M1’d through the floor but not far enough out of bounds to fall through and respawn in the middle of the arena. So I had to sit there under the canvas on some invisible floor and have a waiting contest with my opponent for who leaves the game first.
oka i can't say that i don't use my alts but is simply because i don't have any style slot an my ain. The smurf solution would be perfect but I'm not gonna spend 15 euros on a game to use a different style
My issue is. Idk id animation affect ping. because sometimes opponent animation doesn't move if they quick move for it. Even mine when i quick dash then M2. the animation don't move but they can see mine. Being asian is not that easy because of internet issue. Yeah only 2 internet branded here.... And wonder why i don't get reward anynore. When they rage quit after 2/2 round

But yes the dodges on those styles are insanely powerful and should be changed in some way (they should still be powerful, but not a complete invincibility for full seconds type of gimmick)

I think one of the better ways to fix passive plays is actually applying the rules of boxing. Seven rounds, three knockdowns per round, and of course the scoring system. I'm not too familiar with how it works but if nobody is knocked down yet, it would go to scoring which makes keeping track of average landed and defended have a purpose.

My personal opinion: Add a timer but make it result in a tie if it runs out. Each player gets low-rarity rewards (the equivalent of a non-ranked match) from the match and neither will gain/lose elo. This will discourage passive play because at that point all you get from playing passive is basic rewards you can get from doing any other match and thats it. So if you really feel the need to be a staller, you essentially forfeit your gains. But hey, at least you "didn't lose the match".
I actually like this idea a lot. Unfortunately this would make fighting passive players even more annoying but it would definitely decrease the amount of them a lot. This + passive nerfs would be an overall solid change!
the main issue about the ranked mode is, most of the players are using exploits, you can't even tell if they are exploiting or not.
literally, they are unpredictable when it comes to ranked mode,it made me rage quit because the random bacon dude just used an exploit, just to win😭
Met a bacon hair guy with 90 knockdowns and 23k elo (he using turtle) I lost 3 matches to him

This mf.. kept on perfect dodging my hits and I just left, I search on yt if there was a exploit for it. And my suspicions were right, there was. How bad do you have to be to use auto dodge? the problem for me rn is the amount of trash servers, u cant choose a specific one in my case i hit unified and i was on like 120 ping, then i hop on ranked a week back and play a couple of matches, i dont get a single pd and momentum punches make it impossible for me to react consistently then when i do its literally just a normal dodge, i didnt get a single pd in 3 matches and ended up losing to the avg hawk and slugger u find
We need a randomizer option, where it’s like you can have it set to where it will pick random maps, gloves, knockdown animations and even rank entrance animations you already own when in a match / ranked. And like you said the ranked map feels boring, I 100% agree. I wish I could use the maps I already own in ranked.

The AS matchmaking is so random I’ve quit using counter, cuz if you for example play in India, it’ll sometimes teleport you to Japan, or etc. just giving the opponent free win
I think adding amateur boxing rules to ranked is the best option. 5 rounds with 3 min timer. Scoring system of how many punches have landed if nobody gets KO. 3 KOs and the winner have been decided.
Dont know how well that works against passive player, but if it doesn't. I think the best way is to add UFC rule. If the player does not engage within 1 min or 30 secs, they will get 3 warnings. After the last warning, the player loses automatically and get 0 rewards.
lack of engagement could go both ways though. If a passive player is able to stall that much, then neither player has probably landed anything for some amount of seconds, even one of them is being active

only problem with this is that some styles deal more damage than others, and also passive players make it hard for the opponent to deal damage. for example if someone waits for 60 seconds to perfect dodge and then land a slugger M2, they’d have more “damage done per minute” if they were able to stall for those 60 seconds, whether that be by holding the S key, backdashing, slow M1s, good block management, etc

That's why I left rank matches, I gave up on it. My friends observed me and said I fight like a diamond but is just gold rank. Told them rank match is bad, lagging, ping lag, unfair match making.
thats just how ranking works, this is also shown in other game's ranked modes.
Apart from the counter for the game, that the victory is decided by the number of blows thrown or landed, it would be a solution so that there are no passive players
The big issue is when sometimes in D3 when you lose to a smurf (18k or 17k RT) you lose 220 points, that's huge, but when you win you get 40 or 50 RT, it makes climbing to the champion rank even harder
IMO, before Ranked V2 came, They should reward them once their Rank resets for at least. We played so much yet we also get bad rewards. 😢
a good way to nerf passive play overall is in a way guilty gear did, if ur walking back or just perfect doging all punches without fighting back (like cronos, smash, slugger, shotgun and others) will get the stats of negative (we saw that the ubg creators can do debuffs as for the blindness and imput reverse) as for negative it would limit ur dodges, cut ur stamina and if ur oponent hits u, they do a shit tone more dmg, it would make passive fighters very scared of getting the debuff, making them go for the atack
I feel like it would be kind of hard to implement this in the game. I’m unfamiliar with how Guilty Gear has done it, but as far as your description of it goes, it seems like it’s fairly easy to abuse this system. For example, a player can just walk backwards a lot but then move a tiny bit forward and throw punches in the air before resuming their stalling. And even if it’s based on how long it’s been since that player hit someone, it’d be equally as hard for their opponent to hit them because of the lack of engaging, so they’d both get the debuff and it wouldn’t be fair for the opponent.

- Walking forward in GG grants meters, the rate vary with characters but its a universal thing. Naturally, walking forward is what you want to do.
- It's a 2-D Fighter with High/Low mixups, and there's no equivalent of a Perfect Dodge in Guilty Gear, moves are already unreactable to begin. The closest thing being Potemkin's newly introduced Armored Buster, which already requires a read to land to begin with.
My take on the back dash issue is to revamp the whole mechanic. Shorten the distance ofbackdash where you can still get hit if you backdash BUT, it can only avoid punches when timed right, so like a perfect dodge only, and put a point-second cooldown so players wont spam it or rely on it and will mostly use side dashes instead
UBG ranked should add a rounds system, let me elaborate. There are 4 modes depening on rank:
Mode 1 (Silver) 2 min rounds for 4 rounds, 2 min rounds for 5 rounds.
Mode 2 (Gold) 2 or 3 min rounds for 5 rounds, 2 or 3 min rounds for 6 rounds
Mode 3 (Diamond) 3 min rounds for 5-6 rounds, 3 mins rounds for 6-7 rounds
Mode 4 (Undisputed) 3min rounds for 5-9 rounds
Extra mode: Title fight mode. Silver title match: 2 mins rounds for 6 rounds. Gold title match 3 mins 8 rounds: Diamond title match 3 mins for 10 rounds.
Undisputed title match 3 min rounds for 9 or 12 rounds with a 4 kd limit, but damage is increased.
All matches have a 30 second break inbetween rounds were health regens slightly, 5-10 percent max, 1-5 percent minimum.
All these modes have a penalty for passive play: Penalty 1 Silver-Gold, Prediction: The red outline appears almost exactly when the key is pressed.
Penalty 2 Diamond-Undisputed, Prediction + Expectation nerf: Expectation decreases the damage by up to 20 percent if the same pattern of passive play is repeated with a 1 second cooldown incase its just a stamina break recovery.
All of these modes Gains and losses of Elo
Elo loss-Gain: Silver normal: 70 elo - 50 loss, Title mode: 150 elo gain - 100 loss
Elo loss-Gain: Gold normal: 90-120 gain - 70 loss, Title mode 250 elo gain - 170 loss
Elo loss-Gain: Diamond normal: 120-140 gain - 90 loss, Title mode 400 elo gain - 300 loss
Elo loss-Gain: Undisputed normal: 200-250 gain - 150 loss, Title mode 600 elo gain - 350 loss
All of these ranked Elo requirement slightly increase per rank
Elo silver: 75 %
Elo gold: 100%
Elo Diamond 120%
Elo Undisputed 150%
Victory requirements: Either max out the kd in 1 round, Count your opponent out, Forfeit, Corner stoppage/referee
Cornermen can be chosen by the player fighting and have up/downsides

in my opinion the game should keep track on how often you deal damage, and if you stall and back away, it should punish that by debuffing your stamina, block and etc, while agressive player get the buffs for these things. this will motivate players to play more agressive even without timer
I know what can be done. If you’re away from your opponent for more than 15 seconds, you get kicked and the other person wins. Unless you’re healing a massive amount of health. A tiny bit doesn’t count.

i played a ranked game yesterday against a very obviously smurfing bullet player, like 100 kds 17850 rt. Before we even started fighting bro said "19k rt, huh" because he know if i lost i would lose hundreds of points. I folded him 3-1 because he gave up against my charge but the guy was def like 21k or above, however since he was on the alt i only got like 150 points. ranked is evil.
The worst part about these types of encounters is that the higher you go in the elo system, it gets even worse. So it almost feels like you’re working towards having a WORSE competitive experience 🥲

Yeah this is kind of why I didn't like playing this game, sure I comeback if there are new styles or events, but that only lasts for like two days and I forget the game, I like ranking, but istg, this game's rank matches are so heinous and sweaty, that it's not even fun anymore :/

they need to add a system for like if the fight was neck and neck you get more elo so your rewarded for clutching matches that you thought you would have lost and punisted less for almost winning the fight
I think the loss of ranking instead of 55 it should be atleast 30 or 25 just two games to get you back on your original rank.
2 To fix the passive players yes adding timer is good and maybe can win by amount of punch that has landed so basically add a point system depending on punch is landed (not sure how passive yall talking like hit and run or just dodges multiple times that rely on pd only, Type of guy) if you get annoyed just become passive since your up on punch that is landed.

If yall hate the smurf ranking at this point just add a season reset the higher you are more rewards you can get like (crates spins, lucky spins, spins, coins, golves, unusual, etc) so then everyone would just try to get the rewards maybe rewards can be set on higher rank if new players wanna play rank it would be just better wait for the pros to get up the ranking to avoid getting rekt it won't take long.
4 matchmaking. Sure yes match making need to fix maybe according with ranks not the rank points or whatever you call it so like the ranks will be seperated in different servers so like diamond and only access diamond cant pick the lower rankings.
If the match making is too long when you in higher rank (face it not a lot of people play ranking) then just face people in public servers, i know if no one wanna fight you cuz of your rank, also the game should add a mechanic that you cant reset on the game so that it wont ruin the fun (if they leave the game or aka RQ) they should penalized the person who left. (Idk what to penalized but i was thinking banned them from entering any matches in public server, but they can still leave in rank but at this point just gives the win for the winner which means increase ranking trophies), maybe to solve the problem for no one playing with you cuz of ranking, game should add back the bots that has the difficulty settings and maybe even rewards but not too appealing so like just spins, coins and crates or emote that is not that too appealing.
I think thats my sharing of idea la if have anymore idea we can try to improve this idea maybe someday the dev or creator can see the opinions.
punches landed is complicated because some styles can land more punches per full stamina bar (for example, chronos can land a lot of M1s for each full stamina bar it has, especially in focus mode. But a style like basic wouldn’t be as good at it)
I do like the season reset idea but some people might use alt accounts to reach the season reset limit faster so idk if it would stop alt account abusers
@TQIGaming hmm true also, unless they make it so like the m1 punches will have the same dmg as the points for example if bullet has a low m1 base dmg it would also be low point based same for m2 , and counter will give just slight extra more points (but this will result a very very difficult coding for the devs and the creator),
And for the season reset maybe it will work for the main acc will drop back into normal ranking or no rank so main acc have to push, but smurfing is a problem we have to solve. Usually people smurf is either, the problem of people resetting and not fighting with the pro players which lead them to smurfing and rekt the newbies, I have another way or theory to solve this, is that in the public match up for when a newbie encounters a high rank player in the public server boxing match it will give them the x2 more rewards per knock down so 3 knock down in total. This would encourage players to accept defeat or to learn how does the opponent plays even when you lost you still get benefit, and for the high rank people when fighting newbies it would be just normal rewards. But now you may ask what if the smruf people uses that advantage to get the high rewards from the high rank people? Well you see my point here is trying to make people to less smurfing because probably the pro players get treated unfairly or ruin their fun, my theory works when people's fun are treated fairly.

For me the biggest problem is playing on a region that is not mine, even if I'm the guy that should win by skill at this point ranked is just about being passive and having a region that Roblox cares about more (in terms of being the most beneficial for them to create servers because of people playing more on them) it just sucks
yes, I think it’s definitely meta to play passively and utilize the backdash, and I actually used to play like that myself because of how easy it is to rely on backdashing (I prefer countering and having exchanges now though). just needs to be nerfed and rewarded less
and I think Drowningsome should add subregions to each continental queue (for example, a separate queue for east coast, west coast, and central). Unfortunately though he can’t actually manage the server region choices himself because Roblox handles it on their end. But the separate queues would help imo

I think drowningsome could nerf passive play by coding the game to not allow chaining perfect dashes.
So for example:
After you pd once, the game would force you to actually start a combo (comboing right after the pd won't count) in order to pd again. Until you do that, you cannot pd again.
jus add a timer for each round, if nobody gets ko'd by the time of the 3 rounds then it goes to decision based on how accurate someone was (how many punches thrown to punches hit) how much the other person was running (if they werent hit or hitting for an amount of time they'd get a penalty on points during decision) and how many kd's there were, i know that there arent really "rounds" in ubg but if they did add them as a different way to win i feel it would encourage running to an extent but it would also encourage more rush playstyles since in my head the more punches you land will net you more points each round. So its a way to also come back too. if they were to implement a system kind of like how it is in ippo where you technically dont necessarily have to ko but you get more points if you do (ie you win), youd still win if you get 3 kd though 🤷♂. tldr : some kind of "point" system would make fighting differently more rewarding

i think the rope stun idea is pretty good, but personally I think side dashes shouldn't be punished.

i think the score should also be influenced by the style like for example winning after 20 with a heavy hitter like slugger or iron fist should win you a less than taking 20 minutes with a style that does little to no damage like long guard considering that yk you dont do very much damage
I have this goofy problem that when i was in normal server i have normal ping but when i join rank it just make my ping 5 time worse

just add the timer and some passive penalty to solve things, i commented this in a video of 7stacking but ill paste it here anyway:
1.add a 5 minutes timer, anyone who have lower health when the time runs out is the losing one for that round
2.add pd meter and full health every round like mma legends
3.add passive penalty card: when u play too passive and run around over and over to troll the opponent then u will receive the passive penalty card, when the times out and you still have this card then u will be lose for that round no matter how much health u got, you can only delete this card by playing agressively, the card will not disappear even if u play as a boxer puncher, u must play like an infighter(very agressive) to delete the card. but if u just play a lil passive like outboxer then u wont get the card, the penalty card only affects the first one who play passive and wont be able to affect the other until no one has the card.

I don’t think there should be any mechanics that make playing passively something that could lead to LOSING, because playing passively IS a strategy despite its negative reputation. I just think it’s a strategy that objectively takes less skill (instead of reading an opponent, or timing a dash, all you need to do is hold S and press space 🤦♂️), so you should be rewarded less if you’re relying on it. However, winning a match, no matter how passively you play, SHOULD be rewarded. Just not as much as playing with good reads, mix ups, reaction time, etc.
I also disagree with full health every round. It makes styles like iron fist extremely overpowered because they’d be able to one shot you earlier in the match with their ultimate, and the self inflicted damage from it would be restored next round. They’d also restore any lost health from self damaging M2s.

Ideal for rank is to rework all the styles stats for examples all counter and dash based styles have below average block with improve m1 strings as for the infighting styles they need a higher block health to really get in and a slight improve hitbox m2 range to counter act the back dash but dashing back take half the stamina and some resistance for counter damage

Actually Smurf accounts are a huge problem in the normal game mode (pvp normal matches) since many people use them to behave in a toxic way fighting against the top 1 of the server they are on.
Considering that the majority of the UBG community are infants, many of them are filled with hope when they see how the top 1 on the server is defeated by an account with barely 20 knockouts, this is a serious problem because it causes newbies to constantly chase experienced players believing they have a minimal chance to win (they end up 3-0 lol)
This causes experienced players to be accused of abusing newbies even though they are the ones who spend their time chasing them in the first place. In my personal experience I have experienced more than one tantrum because of newbies where the entire server jumped on me. for being an "abuser" with a user who is just starting to play.
Basically, smurf accounts are responsible for promoting the toxicity of newbies towards experienced players, and unfortunately even if they are banned they can create another alt account very easily and continue acting like toxic monkeys on the game servers.

Personal take: Ranked section of any competitive game is just a cesspool of toxic players, there's no reason of sitting at undisputed champ beside boosting your own ego for what? Feeling better than people who just want to blow off some steam in a silly boxing game? If there was some genuine things beside just occasional cosmetics + title, I would understand it, but the general idea of ranked is extremely flawed and easily abusable in it's nature.

I always get put against people with like 18,000rt and 16000rt when I only have 13,000-14,000, that's y when I immediately join nd see someone this high, I just leave before the game can start. nd I know you shouldn't be intimidated by someone's rt but cmon.. someone with 18,000 that's using shotgun vs my slugger? nd after sluggers massive nerf yeah no.
They should really reduce the range at which they match some players. Personally though my honest advice is that when you’re at gold/diamond, don’t worry too much about the numbers, just play to learn your style and reading your opponent. Even when you get to champ rank I think the numbers are less important than fighting higher skill opponents and learning from it
A style point to compensate for the loss or to buff the gain

I think what should drowning do is to add a timer only on ranked and if you lost a round on ranked but if you knockdown your opponent 2 times you will get lower in points lesser while if you lose 3 to 1 or 3 to 0 you will lose more points and when you use especific styles they will get a small de buff since most of the styles are over power for ranked so drowning should do big nerfs to styles that deserve nerfs and buffs to style that deserves buff such as switch hit 15 dashes to get static is stupid is better if you need lesser dashes to get static im my opinion so that’s what I think should be fixed in ranked

I lost to some exploiter in a deadpol costume using freedom who would get right in your face and perfect dodge everytime, you can't trick him with feints or anything because it isn't him dodging, so he just counter punches everything never losing health. It was actually impossible.
unfortunately it’s really hard for the game to detect certain types of exploits, but hopefully they continue improving the detection system
The annoyng part is that you get the sucky servers that give high ping in 1 graphic level
unfortunately changing graphics level doesn't make ping better. it's all about server location

As a console player i have problems with ranked more towards to matchmaking with servers instead of passive players. Yes, they are a problem too but they should give a penalty those who just play too passive and stalling matches and fixing the problem with matchmaking.
Ranked does not work on mobile anymore l don't know why. Fix your dam game that's why it is only 4k players active.
Showing the style each of you are playing on also can just make people dodge if they see it as unfavorable like a shotgun matched with counter is basically a guaranteed dodge by the shotgun
rank is so bad it doesnt take u to a specific server unlike non rank im super laggy at japan servers but still puts me on the japan server

yeah I’ve had pretty bad experiences with it. One time I wasn’t in my own region and somehow I got M1’d through the floor but not far enough out of bounds to fall through and respawn in the middle of the arena. So I had to sit there under the canvas on some invisible floor and have a waiting contest with my opponent for who leaves the game first.
playing casual is the root to happiness trust i did my ranking matches and imediately quit
oka i can't say that i don't use my alts but is simply because i don't have any style slot an my ain.
The smurf solution would be perfect but I'm not gonna spend 15 euros on a game to use a different style

but they should have some type of permanent quest line where you can earn a style slot or two.
How about adding performance mode in ranked mode cuz it will greatly help low end device's

I beat passive sh*ts by using long ranged styles like bullet cuz of they backdash i only move forward without dashing and using my range instead

My issue is. Idk id animation affect ping. because sometimes opponent animation doesn't move if they quick move for it. Even mine when i quick dash then M2. the animation don't move but they can see mine.
