So I told him that I like him with all my courage and he just stood there frozen and me looking down..He said”I like you as a friend but not a girlfriend” and I just completely just ran to the bathroom before crying my eyes out..A few months past by and it’s Valentine’s Day aka the worst day to be single. So it was lunch and I was sitting with my friend we were just talking while my crush sat down in front of me and my friend.I thought it was the time! This song is relatable 4 me. I had a best guy friend for a long time. He was one of the first guys I came close with. A year after meeting him, my friends dared me to go and say "I like you" to the one I had a crush on. at first, I just went to him because he was the first person to pop up in my mind thinking he wouldn't reply the same. I just need to vent a little, so sorry random scrollers! This song is the first song I thought of. It’s currently June 24, 4am where I am and I’ve been crying all night. I’m 16 and just graduated sophomore year. I had a best friend ever since the 5th grade. I’ve liked him ever since then. We got closer in 6th and we joined a friend group back then, but after 6th grade we were basically the only two who kept being friends. The only thing that changed was that he got a girlfriend (she’s one of my best friends now :)). They dated all the way to the end of 7th grade. By that point I had gotten over my crush and we remained friends. But she came up to me on the last day of school and confessed why he broke up with her. He said “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize but I’ve liked (me) the whole time”. Nothing happened really the majority of the summer, but once school started up again, things changed. By Valentines Day of 8th grade he still had a crush on me and he didn’t know I knew. Now I forgot to mention that he is the sweetest kid on the whole planet. He texted me in advance to ask my favorite candys and animals. On Valentines Day I was walking with him from PE and he handed me some gifts. Candys, a little statue of the eigtfel tower (I study French) and a really sappy note that said he really liked me. Before we had to part ways I hugged him and thanked him. Nothing much happened after that. I was feeling conflicted on what to do. I didn’t like him. I had just gotten over him and honestly I liked another boy at the time. What really put the nail in the coffin was at the end of 8th grade. It was a rainy day and we were touring the high schools campus we were going to the next year. We were leaving the band room and he offered me his jacket. At this point I knew I had no chance with the other kid I liked but I still didn’t want to be rude to my friend (his ex) by saying yes, and I really didn’t wanna lead him on, so I rejected it. Nothing much happened until Freshman year. He really did become one of my only friends. Because of that we had a lot more time to be with each other, (you see where this is going). I liked him. It was still and unsure feeling, but I know it was there. This is when it started to crash and burn. We stayed friends until right before winter break. We were eating lunch one day with some of our other friends. At this point in the school year I could feel he wasn’t very happy. He couldn’t make any sports teams and I think he kinda started to pull away from us a lot. He didn’t like sitting with us anymore. So much so that he said “if I was in the same lunch as my other friends there’s no way I’d still hang out with you guys”. This sincerely pissed me off. After lunch I texted him something like “if you don’t like sitting with us why don’t you go somewhere else?”. Long story short we kinda had a fight. Not a big one, but this is the first and last fight we ever had. The next day he came to lunch. He showed everyone our messages. I ended up crying. Why? Because the second he walked over he said he didn’t mean that he hated all of us when he said that yesterday. Only me. He only hated me. At that point the friend group was split. Majority siding with me, and 2 with him. After that he never came back to where we ate lunch. He later told my best friend, aka his ex (they’re still friends) that he didn’t hate me. But he still refused to talk to me directly. He still refuses. Since then he’s had a girlfriend, joined the volleyball team (something we liked together). I’ve only spoken to him twice since then. Once to wish him a happy birthday. He only replied with “thanks”. And most recently was from a school info account asking him for some information (he didn’t know he was talking to me). That last one hurt me. It was only a month ago. I still doing know what I did to make him cut me off like that. He was always the sweetest kid, I genuinely loved him, I loved being around him. We played video games together all the time. My friend still talks to him. He talks to everyone in our old friend group except me. My friend says he still acts bitter. I miss him. I didn’t realize how bad I did until tonight, a year and a half later. I pulled out the old gifts and Valentines he gave me. I keep reading the letter. It feels like the old, sweet boy I knew is dead. He’s mean now. He tries to fit in more. Reading this Valentine makes me miss him less. I miss walking around town with him. I remember we went to an animal volunteer center one time after school so we could pet the baby cats together. We would walk to this fast food place after school and order fries. I would sit with him while he did his homework. We both stayed late Tuesdays and would talk even longer. Once Sophomore year started, he stopped going. I walk by myself now. I just wish he would tell me what I did wrong. I’d apologize weather I did it or not. I just want my friend back. This song was the first thing I thought of. Every time I think “oh I’ve never had anything like this happen to me” I realize yes I have. It’s just mine ended before I got the chance to tell him what I felt. The thing is, if I had the chance to go back and change it, I’d take him up on that jacket offer.
Update: Hello ! It’s been awhile lol. I’m just gonna be straight up, nothings really changed in the story. It’s been really hard to make any kind of progress with social distancing schooling. I’m about to go into my senior year. Although it’s never happened before, I’m hoping I can get a class with him this year and make amends. We both take some advices classes which might be why I’ve never had a class with him. But I’ve lost his phone number, and the school info account I used to run is down temporarily due to the pandemic. As for my personal updates, I have a boyfriend! He’s the best person that I could have ever asked for. Unless something drastic happens I don’t think I will be pursuing my old friend romantically. I want to talk to him again. It would be such a shame to spend so much time with him just for it to all go to waste. It’s summer so I probably won’t have any updates until August. I might have a chance to see him at one of his volleyball games if I manage to make it, if that happens I’ll will let you all know. Thank you all so much for your interest in my story, wish me luck

I fell in love with my best friend.... I fell in love with my best friend. We’ve been best friends for a year and a half now. We tell eachother EVERYTHING and we trust one another way more than anybody else would. We tell eachother secrets and we always keep them. I remember the first time that I fell for him. We were playing video games at his house. Tekken to be exact. We both had the idea to lay down on our backs and play it upside down XD. I asked him how long he has liked me, and he told me that he’s liked me sense the second month we’ve been hanging out. That’s when I started liking him as well. It’s crazy to think that we’ve liked eachother for so long yet has been too scared to tell the other person that they feel the same way. Another crazy thing is in between those 1 and a half years he got himself a girlfriend and I got myself a boyfriend. We kept the feelings that we had towards one another and placed those feelings on other people. I can’t believe that happened...so anyways, the day that I told him I liked him I also told him that now would not be a good time to date because I was gonna be moving an hour away the following day. He told me that he understands and that no matter what happens along the way, he would still like me just as much as he has before. We soon decided to make it official when we get to see eachother all the time again.

Everyone's telling stories about their lover, so I wanna tell mine.
I met this girl in middle school, and I was always SUPER jealous of her. All my friends would go to play with her, and I felt left out. I would start talking behind her back, calling her a nerd and trying to tell my friends that she wasn't a good person, but my friends didn't believe me. She was the smartest girl in our grade, she was super pretty, and very nice. I didn't take any of this, I hated her so much. We had a rivalry of sorts, we both knew we hated each other.
Fast foward around two years later, during quarantine. My friends made a group chat with me, that girl and a few other people. This was around Christmas time, so we had a secret Santa. I was really up against being in a group chat with her, but my friends made me give in. We started talking in the group chat, and eventually started talking to each other through dms. We found out that we both had a lot in common. I remember saying to her, "I think we'll get along just fine." and fine we did. We became best friends, and I started crushing on her. She liked another person (who was also in the group chat) but that didn't stop me. I would flirt with her all the time and she'd get super flustered. It was adorable.
After a while of this, I wondered if she actually liked me back.
A few weeks ago, we were talking at 2 AM and we were both super tired but she stayed up to talk to me. And that's when I snapped. I asked her "Do you love me?" because I was to much of a coward to tell her before I knew her answer, as I was scared of her reaction. She said she did love me, and at first I was confused. I was so sure she would say no, but she said that she did. I was scared to tell her I loved her as well, because I didn't want to ruin her relationship with the other person she was crushing on. She was so flustered when she told me. Right before we went offline, I told her that I felt the same. And we logged off.
Thirty minutes later, I told her I couldn't sleep. She couldn't either. We spent the rest of the night talking to each other.
The next morning, I was super excited. I started telling everyone, and she wasn't too fond of that. (She's a huge introvert, while I'm extroverted.) I then asked her if she wanted to go out with me. She said yes, and we went out together.
She's now my girlfriend, and I love her with all my heart.

My story.
Weve met when I was in 6th grade but he was in 7th we became instant best friends a week later we dated, yes I know to young but I mean you have to enjoy the fullest, after all he was about to leave. We broke up 2 months later because I felt so much guilt not telling my parents and he understood, still we were close best friends. Borrowing his sweater during break, laughing and smiling sometimes our eyes met but we just laughed it out. Then about a year later he got himself a gf which I was in 7 and now he was in 8, He was dating one of my friends well she's a fake but yeah, I was a little crushed but then I still had him as my best friend! We still walked together laugh around hugged at most, but later his Gf broke up with him because I was "interfering" the relationship and he got mad at her. So he said it's fine and went to me saying it wasn't my fault at all. One year later im in 8 he's in 8, High School in other words. He had to go to another school after all... Last year wasn' like the year's with him, I was alone but later on we still talked, texted, called and sometimes since I have dance practices he accompanied me, making fun of me in a laughable teasing way and most. Now this year 2017 I'm in highschool as a freshman, he's a sophomore mhm I went to Highschool different than his but during these first months of school, its been good he skipped school yesterday for me which I disagreed but he didn't give a damn, stubborn like always but I said fine just don't do it again. He accompanied me to school and then walking back home with nutella and chips inside a bag since I asked him and he was okay with it Heh. But apart from now I feel like I'm liking him again but I know he's 15 turning 16 in a few months and I'm 14 turning 15 in february unfortunately, and I mean he likes other girls so.. I guess it won't happen. I'm just saying this here to clear up my mind, no need of likes.

I am sorry if this advice doesn't work but I'm sure you won't even take this advice but maybe tell him you like him one time and let him think it out, he'll know that if he flirts with another girl that will break your heart piece by piece so he will try to avoid it. When he spends more time with you act like normal, try not to make the situation awkward. That will do something to him to make him like you, being calm even in that stress can inspire men because they have so many worries and think about them a lot. It may turn out good. Also, if he starts wantinf to hang out with you more, he probably likes you and thinks you're more special than other girls.

In 2017 I had a good friend, I considered him my best friend. I developed a crush on him, I showed him this song and it kinda became our song even if it wasn't romantic.
