Before, the comments were more equal and even a lot more people who were on the fence wanting to take a chance on the opposition. Ever since that day, I’ve seen a significant uptake in PAP support and they’re commenting everywhere with the same rhetoric. Tbh, today I felt like the PAP is going to wipe out the opposition. That’s how much I felt things were changing. My WP umbrellas finally came in today and it is a little depressing 🥺

As a Sengkang resident, I have to say that the concerns brought up are totally relevant and correct in this area, hence it really shows that they have been listening to feedback by residents and thinking of how to address them relevantly. I think this is a good first step and better than just having "more of the same thing" such as lift upgrading and covered walkway, which can be easily proposed for any other areas in Singapore.

@@Rayki_isfat Ya, one recommendation I would make would be to provide English subtitles. I only know Eng and Tamil, so in the end I only understood half the speech. Luckily my Chinese and Malay friends translated for me but still would be nice to have understood all from the get go.

With both working parents, there is a lack in quality family time. And high cost of living and medical expenses are putting a strain on the lives of our senior citizens. Firstly, to provide bicycle lanes dedicated for PMDs. 2ndly,more eating places (i believe they meant hawker) as there are currently not enough available with only 23 eating places,including 3 shopping malls. The WP would like to expand the commercial spaces especially for the F&B sector. 3rdly, to provide more childcare/infant care as Sengkang has a highest number of babies/children and the waiting list is too long. What is available today is not sufficient based on proximity to homes. Singapore need to be a country of fairness and equality. I’m a resident of SengKang and also a first time voter. I have never been interested in politics, nor the GE because we all know who is the mandate at the end of the day. This is the first time I’m growing interest for policy implementers, and truly want to contribute my vote significantly for a different Singapore. They might be making empty promises at the end of the day, but I would like to give it a try for this time round.

The loss isnt personally his fault but the methodology of treating citizens as a group of minions and not as individuals. Why is Sengkang different? (but a close cousin of Punggol).. As what is mentioned, a huge population in SK are the sandwiched population. Those in the 40-50 age bracket are even known as the "neglected" generation. Unlike the older estates, we don't have hawker centres, no markets. Prices of raw ingredients are amazingly high compared to the older estates, just go Riverval Plaza, where the only "dry" market is available. Many of the folks here get their news bites through social media, therefore this social media election fits this GRC perfectly. But would these people turn to vote WP? There is a big group here who still have a strong impression that that if the opposition takes the ward, their property prices will tumble. This group of voters paid over the roof for their flats and EC/Condo here, unlike other older estates. The only question perhaps is if the SK residents are tired. Truth be told, the amenities are really lacking. Many are calling SK the backwater of Punggol, the poorer cousin. All the best WP. We hope to see a different moon come 10 July..

Im Singaporean Chinese, from a normal family that resides in a HDB flat. I worked part time, saved money and went to the west to study and work for 10 years. The discrimination was alot worst but I didnt complain. I got promoted during my time there and then came back to join another MNC as a sales manager because of my aging parents. Does this qualify as being privileged or just sheer dedication and hardwork?

My father received little education due to growing up in a large Chinese family but with a few decades of hard work and some luck, we are now well-off. You, my father and Singaporeans of any race are the success stories of meritocracy, those who have worked hard to get to where they are. As you have said, you faced racism in the west. But does that mean that everyone should suck up and that racism should be excused? Should it not be instead that, regardless of where we are, ideally no one should be racist? Should we not be better than the people who have mistreated you, just because you were Chinese? What you face in the west is similarly felt by many minority groups in Singapore. You eventually got to come back home but for many Singaporean minorities, Singapore is their home - the one we all love, and what you face in 10 years, they face their whole lives. You were not privileged. You worked hard and you earned your success. However, I don't think Raeesah is fighting against anything. She merely stated that factually as a minority, they face certain issues that a majority race in a country would not experience. Could her words been phrased better, definitely! But she was 24 and passionate and so was careless with her words. We all say things we regret. I urge you to not look badly on her and to support this group of passionate young leaders!

We understand the issues faced by Sengkang residents. Firstly, to provide bicycle lanes dedicated for PMDs.
2ndly,more eating places (i believe they meant hawker) as there are currently not enough available with only 23 eating places,including 3 shopping malls. The WP would like to expand the commercial spaces especially for the F&B sector.
3rdly, to provide more childcare/infant care as Sengkang has a highest number of babies/children and the waiting list is too long. What is available today is not sufficient based on proximity to homes.
Singapore need to be a country of fairness and equality. This election is an election for everyone, the citizens that have worked hard.

I’m a resident of SengKang and also a first time voter. I have never been interested in politics, nor the GE because we all know who is the mandate at the end of the day. This is the first time I’m growing interest for policy implementers, and truly want to contribute my vote significantly for a different Singapore. They might be making empty promises at the end of the day, but I would like to give it a try for this time round.

Why is Sengkang different? (but a close cousin of Punggol).. As what is mentioned, a huge population in SK are the sandwiched population. Those in the 40-50 age bracket are even known as the "neglected" generation. Unlike the older estates, we don't have hawker centres, no markets. Prices of raw ingredients are amazingly high compared to the older estates, just go Riverval Plaza, where the only "dry" market is available. Many of the folks here get their news bites through social media, therefore this social media election fits this GRC perfectly. But would these people turn to vote WP? There is a big group here who still have a strong impression that that if the opposition takes the ward, their property prices will tumble. This group of voters paid over the roof for their flats and EC/Condo here, unlike other older estates. The only question perhaps is if the SK residents are tired. Truth be told, the amenities are really lacking. Many are calling SK the backwater of Punggol, the poorer cousin. All the best WP. We hope to see a different moon come 10 July..

Im Singaporean Chinese, from a normal family that resides in a HDB flat. I worked part time, saved money and went to the west to study and work for 10 years. The discrimination was alot worst but I didnt complain. I got promoted during my time there and then came back to join another MNC as a sales manager because of my aging parents. Does this qualify as being privileged or just sheer dedication and hardwork?

My father received little education due to growing up in a large Chinese family but with a few decades of hard work and some luck, we are now well-off. You, my father and Singaporeans of any race are the success stories of meritocracy, those who have worked hard to get to where they are.
As you have said, you faced racism in the west. But does that mean that everyone should suck up and that racism should be excused? Should it not be instead that, regardless of where we are, ideally no one should be racist? Should we not be better than the people who have mistreated you, just because you were Chinese? What you face in the west is similarly felt by many minority groups in Singapore. You eventually got to come back home but for many Singaporean minorities, Singapore is their home - the one we all love, and what you face in 10 years, they face their whole lives.
You were not privileged. You worked hard and you earned your success. However, I don't think Raeesah is fighting against anything. She merely stated that factually as a minority, they face certain issues that a majority race in a country would not experience. Could her words been phrased better, definitely! But she was 24 and passionate and so was careless with her words. We all say things we regret. I urge you to not look badly on her and to support this group of passionate young leaders!

After we have analyse seem quite truth. We’ re worry the next 5 years how many executive jobs will be taken away by expatriates and almost everything seem increasing including penalty Summon, if you pay bill or fine late.
