- 5 minute teardown of UK 4 gang extension lead
My daughter's extension was making a hissing noise and we don't have many snakes in the UK so a quick tear down to see if we can find anything wrong.
No snakes were harmed during the filming of this video but they might have been if I'd found any. ;-)

Good to see someone else doing the reverse turn, click, then screw-in habit. It has saved me many cross-threads and stripped self tapped holes.
Only design concern I noted was the earth wire connection being the most distant / tightest connection from the cable. If the cable was tensioned, the earth connection would be the first to pull away / disconnect. I was always taught that the earth connection should be positioned to ensure that a pulled cable would retain the earth connection as the last wire to pull away / disconnect.
Looks fairly well-made, compared to the current crop of "low cost" ones.
Could have replaced that neon, while you were in there, for the next 20 years ;)
It was quite well made I've seen a lot worse. I often buy them from Tesco as they seem to protect their name a bit more. Not sure where this one came from.
What happened? Did you leave it out in the Rain 🤣😂
@@Magic-Smoke I did not expect RainMaker to so far reaching!
@@TheEmbeddedHobbyist lol - capillary action :)
