“I have no idea what I don’t know”! Well put. I went all in when I started my PPL. End up buying a Cherokee 140 20 hours into training because I knew I didn’t want to be held back by having to rent something. I had no idea what I was getting into, but wouldn’t do it any differently. Well, maybe a couple things.
Stay on the ground? Cuz he had a miss hap..? If that's the case maybe Cory should stay put too seeing he flipped into the drink... Or maybe Mike should stick to building since he trashed an entire plane.. ??? Personally I can't wait to see him back in the air..
@@POSitiveSoftwareCo Thanks for that info! 😊 I think I watched a video on that just like you did. btw the only difference between a hanger and a shed is if you put an airplane in it.
@@anthonyrstrawbridge That ROCKS. I post videos on my solar. I am running 90% of my home 120 volt loads off-grid 24/7. I live in Charleston South Carolina. So we need AC 24/7. In the day I run 2 Ac's for free from the sun. At night after about 9 pm we go back on grid for the AC. The rest stays off-grid. We live in the woods so it's the best I can do for now. Worked in the renewable energy field for the beater part of 20 years. Was 100% off-grid for 10 years. All DC power loads. Them where the good old days LOL.
Your videos make me want to finish my PPL I started many years ago. Unfortunately, cancer and to many narcotics mean I’ll never pass my medical ever again. In the meantime I’ll continue flying vicariously through you guys and I’ll keep checking every day for a new video.
@@yummypiee6981 good idea and thanks for the suggestion. I’m type 2 diabetic and about to start 9 weeks of radiation treatments 5 days a week for my cancer. I’ve got to many uncertainties right now to commit to something that I may not be able to follow through on.
my first 40 hours were in a tail wheel and now I am finishing my training in a tricycle gear. Almost done with my private baby whoop whoop with tail wheel endorsed!
Hey, we used to smoke in the grocery stores! I remember when doctors promoted cigarettes 🤣. I remember when people would smoke in the hospital! You guys are kids🤣🤣🤣
The "I have no idea what I just got myself into, but I know I'm gonna love every second of it" smile was the best. Beautiful bird, looking forward to see some appearances in your videos!
My Brother-In-Law (of Genuine Aircraft Hardware) used to have a Cessna that he'd take us up in. Seeing you all chatting as you fly reminded me of him. He passed away a few years ago of Alzheimer's, his Dad's Cessna and the handbuilt-experimental he'd been working on all went to other hands. I enjoy your channel and the flying I see, the planes and sights all bring back fond memories of hanging out at the Lompoc airport with him. He lived right at the airport which was a pretty good spot for an A&P like him.
Just think about it. Everytime you land at a new airport all the people around would gather around the plane awaiting Mike or Mark to step out. Then you get to deplane and ruin their day. LOL.
Amazing how far that smoke travels! Can't believe how socked in you guys were over there! We even got some of that way out here in MA about a month back or so! Crazy. Man is that a beautiful aircraft! Would love to own one of those, among a few others. It was entertaining seeing you out of your element, Trent, WAY up in altitude there! :) Great stuff as always!
Wow, that Carbon Cub looks fantastic! I only fly in PC simulators, so it was extremely interesting for me to see Quinn's head position in relation to the side window in the 182. You really have to duck down to see straight to the side ...
I figured the fires where causing the lack of videos. Glad to see the Cub stayed in the 'family'. Hope the everyone is doing well. Prayers for everyone in the way of the fires. A friends cabin is a mile or so from a fire line in Washington state. Take care - be safe Spin
Love the video. Speaking of smoking on airplanes, I remember being on a DC-10 in the last row of nonsmoking with the row immediately behind me of course being beginning of smoking section. Just like a magic barrier, smoke stayed behind us non smokers…lol. Almost started a riot on a similar flight but that’s another story.
Sweet Swayy shirt @trentpalmer! Started that company back in college, glad to see a part of it still living on. Hope to get it going again someday! P.s. sick birds!
Not old enough to remember flying with smoking sections but im old enough to remember when the vast majority of the planes were previously smoker planes when that was allowed. Now there's an opportunity to go from 'Start -2- Finish' with the new Cub owner getting his tail wheel endorsement. Break out the Go-Pros and let's charge some batteries.
So sick, that's an awesome first tailwheel. Not to mention all the patey secrets hiding in that plane. I needed a flying video today. Hope the fires get under control soon although the caldor fire has "joined" the Dixie in not looking good at all. Praying for our firefighters and first responders here in California!
Complaining about getting the Skylane in and out of the hanger, but you've got a Carbon Cub with 'Best Tugs" written all over it. Where's your Best Tugs tug??? Nice one, Ryan. I'm sure you're going to be having fun with the guys in no time. Never taxied, took off or landed a tail dragger, so you're one, or three, or four, up on me. Good luck, be safe and remember, you don't stop flying a tail dragger until the bartender pours the second drink! LOL
I’m really glad I’m not the only one that prefers to fly low and doesn’t like the bumps! Lol after 5000ft AGL I can really feel that fear of heights kicking in 🤣
@@the_dirtyrice732 thanks a ton! I just finished my instrument in SLC and we had to fly high to meet the MEAS which was smoother but still freaked me out a little 🤣
That smoke is a bummer. I'm cleaning soot off my leading edges in Illinois (from the fires out West). I've never seen it this bad. Also....I never read a regulation that said you can fly in to restricted areas as long as you ask the controller (with no answer). They don't magically stop firing or flying training missions just because you asked an unanswered question. Seems like 2 out of 3 guys knew that! :)
I used to smoke when solo in a C152 while training, It was kinda of a reward for me, Some of the instructors would smoke, some would say no :) Times have certainly changed
Shortest time on the flight line? The time between yelling "Clear!" and hitting starter. That was a bummer buy gas for two planes and not getting to PIC either
Great video! Congrats Ryan on becoming a TW owner! Where did you all eat in Elko? That's my old hometown. I worked 20 years at that firehouse at the approach end of 24 you can see when Kevin is on short final.
So sad to see the smoke from yearly fires increase each year. This problem is worldwide and as an Airbus Captain, flying globally since the early, 80’s, it really concerns me. Flying isn’t as much fun when you are IMC. Is an Instrument Rating on your horizon, Trent? Keep up the great content🥂
I have no idea what I don't know. There's a healthy attitude.
I was thinking the very same thing when he said that!
You'd think he never saw a tail dragger before. Crazy to see him go from looking like another Patey Pro Pilot to the new kid in class in one video.
Or altitude😂
Got my license 2 weeks ago and Just flew my first hour in a cub and it was amazing thank you for all your inspirational videos🙏
@GracieM thank you man means alot
