It is time that all Cops are required to have personnel liability insurance so that if sued it is their premiums that rise and the compensation does not come out of the public purse . I also think if the Cops do not know that “ suspicion” is subjective and not in itself evidence of being guilty of a Felony, that Cop needs to be fired and banned from policing for life.
May be it needs to be written into their employment contract, proof of insurance before being offered the position. I mean that being before any training can take place. That way insurers can watch over their policy holders and adjust premiums as required. Medical negligence cover. Police negligence cover. It is time that all Cops are required to have personnel liability insurance so that if sued it is their premiums that rise and the compensation does not come out of the public purse .
I also think if the Cops do not know that “ suspicion” is subjective and not in itself evidence of being guilty of a Felony, that Cop needs to be fired and banned from policing for life.
May be it needs to be written into their employment contract,
