    I love the history of the Medici family. They really hold many mysteries and scandals behind their many good works. Cosimo Medici is especially enigmatic.

    I would like to see a video about the Italian de Medici family. Their power structure, over how far an area, and especially the ways they took advantage of the population and the enemies they made along the way.
    The reason why this would be a great subject is because I read Dante giving them a lot of negative attention in his books, The Divine Comedy.

      You have conflated this matter confusing two differing de Medici women with regard to ballet and the notion either brought opera to France is baseless.
      Catherine de Medici, Queen consort to Henry II, brought ballet to France.
      The first French opera was in 1673, Marie de Medici died in 1642.

    history is so interesting. i always say, you can't make this stuff up. it's so fantastic. she was quite power hungry and egotistical. it was her delusions that brought her down. if she would have bothered to anticipate other people's perspectives, like her son, it may have played out differently.

      @@cquelhas yeah... It's fine. Don't be a Karen honey. Complaining about a minor thing like you have, well, it makes you a Karen. I'm sure you don't want to be that. And you're obviously cool because you have good taste in TH-cam videos anyways. Lol.

    • @cquelhas
      @cquelhas 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CountessKitten Ok, thank you for calling me something I consider really offensive.
      I wasn't even complaining... just surprised by the mistake and making a little fun of it. And probably you and Naty found my words more judgmental than what I was intending (probably something lost in translation because I'm not a native english speaker). Alas, you can't also see what was the tone of my voice when I wrote what I wrote, but now, as I'm being called a Karen, I can see how you imagined the sounds in your head. That's the problem of communicating only by writing: you can't see my facial expressions, you can't hear my voice. I was laughing, stunned by the video, not being an annoying picky woman correcting someone...
      Thank you for making me feel like a jerk.

    I find some parallels here with the emperor Nero and the way he turned on his mother for her excessive interference on his rule and also with a certain Byzantine empress (Irene of Athens I think) who had a major conflict with her son and ended up having him blinded -a nice mother!
