I'd like to see a video from you about male and female being out of balance!

Ok! I will put that on the list. Thank you! What do you think about it?

@marlomckenzie Male and female are kind of strange concepts really, since English uses these words as symbols for a whole set of traits, behaviors, feelings, etc. that may or may not have much to do with a particular gender for one species on one planet and then attempts to apply these concepts of "male" and "female" throughout an entire universe when other species may not even have two genders or genders at all. But it being out of balance seems to comes from this idea that those traits associated by our culture with "maleness" are valuable and those that are associated with "femaleness" are not. I think this is because maleness is associated with control in our culture, and control is seen as leading to power, independence, and therefore safety. If control = safety the only way to truly be safe is to care about no one but your "self". Caring about others will always leave you vulnerable, it extends your "self" out to include others, who you love like self but have no control over, and vulnerability is the antithesis of "maleness".

@ Wow! I really agree. You said it so well. You also point out what a nuanced conversation this is. I am also realizing how needed this conversation is especially today.
