    Excuse, is there a connection between this and the shaolin form Da Tong bei quan?

      The Da Hong Bei Quan is part of the Shaolin Red Boxing. Tong Bei Quan is closer to Pi Quan and similar boxing styles. It is its own art. Tong Bei means - through the back. She illustrated this in explaining how the strike doesnt come through the arm from the shoulder, but up from the bottom of the spine. Other arts borrow from this idea, as in Tong Bei Tai Chi, so you may find the term "tong bei" in sets of various arts. But she is demonstrating the actual art of Tong Bei Quan.

      Sorry - Da Tong Bei Quan, not Da Hong.. Which is the art this form is in.. The Shaolin Red Boxing.

    good stuff. I would put my hand up blocking the head with the forarm and elbow like in Thai boxing or mma while executing the punches or slaps and may be and some angles plus up and down body shifting in my attack plus maybe struck with a tiger palm combined with a hook type motion or cut type movement like in boxing but using the flexibility and stances of your movement. those flexible arms and core are very effective I think to make striking less painful and more agile plus more energy efficient. I really like your trainging application video good work.

      It seems like holding a fight stance during this exercise would be counter productive. You could use the strikes and incorporate them but the practice will help losen you up to move better. If you do the exercise holding one or both arms ridged during practice it will reduce your range of motion. The guards a great idea for something with a partner or sparing.
