  • The USC Trojans and Oregon Ducks are the 2 West Coast programs coming over to the Big Ten from the Pac 12 that are slated best set up to achieve success in their new conference, but will the Ducks or Trojans achieve more success long term in the Big Ten?

The different levels of growth from Rich Brooks , Mike Belotti ,Chip Kelly , Mike Helfrich , Mario now Dan Lanning the elevation is at an ALL TIME LEVEL of what it takes to WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. Blue chip SoCal kids are choosing Oregon over USC…until that changes, Oregon is in the driver’s seat for a while. I don’t think it’s all on Riley though. He’s not getting the same support from the USC AD and administration that Lanning has at Oregon

As long as Lincoln Riley is steering the ship, USC will always have a bottom 50 defense, because he just doesn’t give a crap, he will always make sure there is a fall guy.
He is nothing but a well paid OC, a really good OC, but he just plain doesn’t give a crap about 2/3 of the game. Defense and special teams mean absolutely nothing to him, never have and never will.

Oregon smartly hired SEC line coaches over the past. Cristobal was the Alabama O-line coach that changed Oregon up front and Lanning was Georgia's D-line coach and oregon changed its D-line and strategy.

I think at this time the momentum is at Oregon. So chances are, they will win a B10 conference first than USC. USC still has to prove their improvement on defense and pick up on thinbgs on offense. Even though I’m not an Oregon fan, I have high hopes for them. It’s this year or bust like all the years since PAC 10/12. I would laugh if they didn’t get into the playoffs. And history shows they have choked in winning the natty. “O” stands for zero championships. FIGHT ON!✌🏽

Oregon for sure. I think people are sleeping on USC in a big way though. Linky usually gets 10 to 11 wins in the regular season. They don't have to play the ducks or the bucks in-conference. USC could go 9-3 and still make the big10 conf game. Feels weird calling USC underrated when I spent all offseason last year saying USC is the most overrated team. They have the talent. Linky just needs execution

USC has been falling to Oregon for the majority of the last 15 years. They are not going to go into a tougher conference and do anything different. SC will be the 6th best team in the BIG 10, year in and out. I don't expect them to win the BIG10 in the next ten years at least. USC is a mess at the admin level. Its not just about the football coaches and players. Oregon has an all world AD in Rob Mullens. That guy is an outstanding AD. Oregon is ran like a company. A Nike company. SC will never get to that level. SC was good when you can pay players under the table and get away with it. That changed a long time ago and once they got caught, it caught up with them and they have never recovered. Oregon has the machine running.

@@jayvto5992 you hope Oregon wont win a natty. Ohio Stae and Michigan were always there. So is Georgia and Bama. Oregon has beaten both Michigan and Ohio State at their place. Oregon will win a natty before SC does. In fact, they might win one before SC even makes the playoffs. SC was left behind after they could not pay for players anymore. That advantage is gone and that is why SC will never be dominate again. Football has passed them by and they have not adapted.

Dan Lanning has built Oregon for long term success. He understands the importance of recuting big time talent in the trenches. Nothing happens without great line play. Especially in the B10. This is who Dan Lanning is. He's a perfect fit for Oregon and the move over to the B10 and yes, Oregon has resources that are borderline obscene. Love it or hate it, it is what it is.

It's USC, SC has the history to show that they can sustain long term success, Oregon has won recently but what has that amount to? Absolutely nothing just like the song. Every good coach they hire bolts to a better program, Dan Lanning will do the same once his dream job opens up. The only reason Oregon is competing right now is due to Daddy Knight overpaying for recruits by three to four times their market value. Hey kudos to Oregon for having a billionaire alumni that cares that much about his university that he's willing to over pay for highschool talent to sign to his school which in turn will keep Lanning there until he isn't. One thing I learned in life is you can't buy genuine love just like you can't buy long term success, Oregon will return to mediocrity eventually. The only reason SC went south was due to the NCAA taking SC down with sanctions along with the PAC12 turning there back on SC and using it to gain a competitive edge on them. Even so SC managed to win a conference title and had multiple 10+ winning seasons and managed to win a Rose bowl during sanctions and terrible coaching. Now that SC is past all that, and has great athletic administration, is fully committed to football, along with Coach Link understanding that in order to win Natty's you have to have a great defense to go along with your great offense. Time will show that the Trojans have been and will always be the better program✌🏽.
Also look at Washington, they had two seasons with a competent staff and look what they did to Oregon, beat them three in a row and almost won a Natty, something Oregon couldn't do with all their NiL advantages.
