Sadly I would have to put the blame on Nobuo Uematsu no matter how great his work is. Atleast with FFXIV's Answers, Dragonsong and Revolutions those 3 songs were always DMCA'd until sometime around end of Shadowbringers and start of Endwalker they posted a update regarding those 3 songs and their licencing stuff where they said they had "made changes" to the licensing of those songs. I bet they just bought all the rights for SE instead of just using some licence from Ueamatsu to use it for the game, but that licence wouldn't extend to players who upload content around the game to use that song.
Same way some popculture songs are used in games but if you stream the game and that song plays in there you're struck as you aren't licenced to use the song. The game is and the licence the game has doesn't extend to the player

I think the feel of the song just doesn't match with the feel of the game. It's slow, calm, and relaxing. Those are not three things I would describe myself as playing Crash Bandicoot. You'd think it would have a little more energy to it.
