Children's Message 10/23/24 Creation and Sabbath

Message for the children of the Longmeadow Congregational Church UCC of Auburn, NH
My name is Pastor Ruth of the Longmeadow Church and I post a special message for the children of our church every Wednesday as well as on Sunday for Family Worship.
Today we conclude our series about creation by combining Days 6 and 7. On Day 6 God created all animals of the land, including humans. On Day 7, God took a Sabbath. The word Sabbath has been misunderstood to mean that WE should take a rest from everything, including church. But scripture tells us that it is a day that GOD rested and we are to honor the day and keep it holy. That means that on the Sabbath, we should give part of the day back to God, spend some time with God, in thankfulness for all God has done in giving us this beautiful earth. Let’s talk about that…
