Hey! 💛 Just a heads up - we used to own that label maker, and it uses plastic ribbon as I’m sure you’re aware and it broke on us like after 10 labels. Also the labels come off if you put the containers through the dishwasher, so soak them in hot water. We returned the label marker and now use a sharpie which can be scrubbed off, or even a white chalk pen looks nice 😊💛 just thought I’d share my experience ✨
I have the same labeler as her and have had no issues. I although had issues with the chalk pen it wouldn't write on the jars. I tried sharpie as well and it stained and wouldn't come off. Those are good tips I am still looking for something to replace the label maker but for now its whats working for me. Maybe I just dont know how to label things properly lolol

A really inspirational vid. I recently reorganized my pantry, replacing plastic containers with glass. I cut out the labels from the packaging along with the expiry date and tape that to the bottom of the jar.

To keep things fresh I use a swag bag in my crisper - leafy greens like bok Chou and brocolli will last for up to 3 weeks and stay fresh, it’s insane!!

Hey girl! A delicious way of eating the black sapote is mixing it with some orange juice or clementine juice, that way you get like a purée texture and it’s so good and fresh, that’s how we prepare it in my house in Mexico ❤️

Loved the video as always, just a quick tip: if you are trying to be more eco-friendly and also to make life easier, you can use chalk pens to write onto the jars, and they wipe off with water :) I find labels are such a pain to remove, so if you change up your jars frequently it's helpful.

I use mason jars (canning jars) for my items. They are pretty cheap and reusable. I doesnt break the bank if you break one and have to replace it. I like your idea to reuse food jars also.

just came across this video (fellow australian here!), I totally beleive that part of going towards a more sustainable life is by actually using up what you have! otherwise you're just throwing away perfectly good food! I used to have one of those bulk buy places near me but they closed! I don't think they were very popular in my area :(

Just a little tip: when you go to a bulk store, just bring your containers you wanna fill up. Its a little bit more work but you don't have to use the paper bags. I know paper is better than plastic, but its still better if it can be avoided

But of course, paper is always better than plastic
Denise M Summersett when you bring your own containers, usually what will happen is that you can get the tare weight(weight of container) and deduct it from the weight of the product purchased, this way you only pay for the product

Your home is so peaceful. A suggestion: Having deep shelves in a pantry make it hard to find things but arranging everything in a u shape against the walls might help you better see all your products 😊
also you can get paper strips to put on glass containers, instead of the plastic dymo and plastic strips

Love watching your low waste video. Maybe next time you could bring along your empty glass jars you showed us in the pantry and put your purchases in that instead of using the paper bags provided at the store. Use your labeler to display the weight of the empty glass jar so it’s easier at checkout.

I loved this video Ellie! I hate cupboards that are so deep urgggh! I think it's really losing space.. so my solution is I put some spinning trays on each shelf and basically it makes it way easier to grab my stuff :) just a lil tip maybe you didn't think about ! Also a question : since i also make food for a livin (well hopefully soon :)), I'm always taken back by the fact I would just prep so much stuff and test out recipes many many many times before they're really good... and then I just am alone to eat everything it doesn't make sense! Also when it's like a full cake i just don't like to eat it all ! I was wondering what's your solution to that when you try out recipes do you do smaller batches ? split out recipes and adjust each ? I've tried a bit of everything but it's hard and I really don't wish to waste food so eventually i end up playing it safe with recipes I know will turn good almost right away. And also having friends over all the time not an option for me lol !!!

Well my husband eats a lot haha but if I make something like a whole cake I drop them to my neighbours or friends and family. If I’m struggling to perfect a recipe I’ll just wait and cook it again another day. Hope this helps x
