Not sure how I ended up down the rabbit hole of listening to Wond'ring Aloud covers on TH-cam, but I'm glad I did because I thoroughly enjoyed yours, thank you.
One of my favorite Jethro Tull songs, and you did it so well. Thank you, I love all your versions of Jethro Tull. I go back and listen to them over, and over. I heard this one when you originally recorded it, but I'm listening to it again now. It seems like it's even better thanks again.
We must be tween souls. This is my favourite song ever, and i can't listen to it without cry. Imposible, even if I listen to it hundred of times. It fills me with nostalgia.
@@miguelhuartehuertas4895 so glad I’m not the only one who gets it. I’d never even had a girlfriend when I first heard it, but I grew up in a happy home and recognized what the heart of that song is!
Bleib gesund‼
Even though this video has been posted four years ago, I watch it over and over without getting tired of it, I love Jethro Tull's music more than I would be able to express, and I love to see you playing it, thank you for replicating such wonderful music and lyrics! Greetings from San Miguel de Allende, México! ❤
Amazing. We share the same musical education. I also discovered JT at the age of 15 35 years ago. And I learned to play the flute and guitar because of that. Have played many of the songs you are playing a 100 times. But you are an amazing guitar player. Thanks for the contribution. Love listening to you recordings.
I read the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit circa 1969 and I played 'This Was" and 'Stand Up' continuously. Men, hobbits, orcs and elves are beautifully encompassed by Jethro Tull. I saw them live also in 1969 and a month later Deep Purple. Those were the days my friends.
"And it's only the giving That makes you what you are" And you gave us a lot, Mr. Stewart Wood. From Italy (yes, I'm "Itullian"...!), thank you so much.
I’m loving this version so much right now, glad I found you, this band is in my heart and soul, been listening for 50 years ❤️❤️❤️Saw them perform about 4 years ago in LA, living in Tennessee now, still listening Every day to Jethro Tull and the like ❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Tull found me. I was 14 in 1984. I had recieved a sony walkman cassette player. It was a strange radio show. 106. 7 FM. Upstate Rural NY USA. a Canadian radio was playing KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR. MY VERY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH SUCH WONDERFUL MUSIC. a fan still at 53yrs old. I took up guitar because of MATIN BARRE
What an amazing emotional song . You made me cry. My life at 66 has been centered when times turn rough to Tull. Life is a Long Song has been told to family to play when I’m gone. Wondering Aloud last line really important to me. I play it on guitar & like many songs that move me, It’s hard to not tear up when I sing it. Big Baby ! Anyone have trouble getting this happen when they sing? Thanks Stewart . You are brilliant .
I love that song and I am a fan since 1981 I was a Kid then traying to play the guitar and I still do these days . Thanks for play my favorites songs ...
Beautiful job Stewart, thank you! June 30, 1973, "A Passion Play" in Syracuse NY was my very first live concert at age 18; BLEW my mind; huge fan since first hearing "Stand Up" in 1969.
Thank you Stewart. A lovely and thrilling rendition, somewhat emotional. Both the beauty of the song and the fact my daily interaction with the Daily Sporran has come to a close. Sincere thanks. It was wonderful waking up here in Australia to such inspiring and entertaining performances. I, too, was introduced to Tull at around 15 years of age. (By my Brother in law to be). It also took me 3 listens. My initiation was with Living in the Past. They’ve been with me ever since. Bravo to the brilliant Ian Anderson, and bravo to the brilliant Stewart Wood. Hope we see both of you again some time. Cheerio.
Yes I enjoyed it, again. I’ve posted a few months ago and I must say that I keep smiling. You are doing a magnificent effort on very challenging and beautifully creative works . Successfully. Thank you.
Thank you for introducing me to the long version of this song. I've always loved the version on Aqualung. You did a magnificent jog of paying and singing.
You are like I, at 15 I embraced Ian Anderson & his band(s) & still do today. Your guitar work is a fine tribute ti his particular genius as a songwriter/singer/composer of thoughtful songs to lift spirits. Bravo!!!
Just found your channel. So glad I did. As a older man, Tull and Ian's lyrics and music has been an important part of my life. Keep opening the eyes of your generation to this beautiful music. Thanks.
I was so pumped when this came out on the Aqualung 40th Anniversary set. And now having this excellent version is like two cherries on top of double icing! PS - Lovely, massively deserved, tribute to the band and Mr. Anderson. Thank you both for making this earth more enjoyable place to be.
“Thank you” feels like slight compensation for the uplifting you’ve brought each day. You made a difference in my life throughout this frightening time, and your wonderful renderings of Tull tunes has deepened my appreciation for Ian and the band. I hope to hear more of your music one day. All the best!
I have just listened to this last song - one of the first I every learnt over 30 years back. I also was/am a very keen 'Tull fan esp' as a teenager in the late 80's. And I am inspired to start playing again after about 20 years - Thankyou - You have done the music proud. Now to listen to the rest of it as only heard your last two..
Lovely version of this song that I have not heard together, I'm very happy I picked your video. My name is Jethro because of this band and I wasn't very happy at my dad as a kid but I became a fan of Jethro Tull and can't live my life without it.
This song has to be the ultimate campfire song. Perfect story, lovely chords, and if you have a nice voice like yours, you and your fellow campers are set!
I've played this for years at folk clubs etc. So today I played along with you Stewart...I have to say it sounded bloody awesome, and gave me goosebumps! Thank you!
Very well done, sir. I've been listening to Ian's music since the National Jazz and Blues Festival at Sunbury in 1968. When disaster strikes or gray clouds cover the sun I turn to Jethro Tull to get me through. I've been stumbling through his riffs and chord changes for a half century. Thanks for the inspiration!
@@DailySporran Sadly, I was not at the festival but I was given a reel to reel tape of parts of it by a friend who was working for a music producer. I had it converted to a 4 track (!) and wore it out in my car listening to it. I was very fortunate to meet Ian at a very small house concert in San Francisco that he and the band did as a fundraiser for wild cats a few years ago, on their day off from performing in concert. Ian wandered through the crowd talking to people, shaking hands, talking about his music and being so incredibly humble. There were only 100 tickets sold. It was an unforgettable evening.
Have enjoyed this series so much and it made me revisit some of my old vinyl as well as songs I haven’t listened to for more than 30 years. For me the highlight of the repertoire is and always will be the Passion Play, but I loved every one of your interpretations, including some of the songs that I had never heard before. You also managed to underline what a musical genius Ian Anderson is. Just epic!
Tull was initially planning to release a double album. They went to France to record it, but somehow things turned out badly and Anderson scrapped the entire album. He went back and rewrote what became a Passion Play. But they finally released the songs that had been slated for the double album years later. Had they released those songs instead of A Passion Play Tull would have been catapulted into major stardom. Instead A Passion Play bombed commercially and they went downhill after that. And I also learned that Anderson had considered making a movie to accompany the album but scrapped that too. I think that was the reason they had a theater booklet inside of A Passion Play. While Warchild, Minstrel, and Stormwatch had a few good songs overall they never achieved what they had put out in the rejected double album! Now sadly Anderson's voice is totally shot and the 75 year old has virtually no energy or stage presence left! .
Stewart-brilliant rendition of one of my all time favorite Tull tunes. “Aqualung” was my introduction to Tull back in 1971 when I was 16 and I never looked back. Keep them coming my friend. You are fabulous.
Jethro Tull is the music my brother and I skateboarded to, speakers out the bedroom window up and the ramp at the end of the back patio thump, thump, thump, over the cracks up the plywood and back again
Brilliant, authentic and sweetly reproduced, thanks for all the sporans, they have been so memorable, thank you and thanks to Ian and his bands of merry men
Stewart, I can’t remember the last time I listened to this song. While I have seen a couple of your covers I’ve only just discovered the whole collection. Omg! I, like you, arrived at JT in my formative years way back in the seventies and they have been my soundtrack to life ever since. Apart from seeing the crowd at a JT gig I’ve always found it difficult to identify a proper Tull fan, so it’s great to see you here! Keep up the great work, and I thank you.
