Hello from Greece! I have watched many of your videos. I own a Cressi Patrol BCD and I am happy about it. It is back inflated, light weight with a 'stiff back'. I bought also the trip pockets and added them in the tank strap. Also when I mounted the BCD as low as possible to the tank I had no issues standing vertically on the surface although it is a back inflated BCD. The integrated weight pockets are great ! No more weight belts! The only 'down' side maybe common to all Cressi BCDs is that they are larger to their named size. I am a XL (L standing for long ! 190cm -->6.2 and 207 pounds). I took the Large size but I have to adjust the straps as short as possible in the waist. However I am sure it can fit everyone.
Hi Andreas, I've made many stops in Greece and the islands while serving in the US Navy. One of my fondest dive stories comes from a stop in Rhodes back in 1971. 1st thanks for the views and your great comments about the Patrol. The integrated weight pockets are excellent and as you and I agree, adding a set of Trim pockets to the tank strap makes this BCD that much better. Yes sir, that back plate is stiff but serves a purpose so folks agree with and some don't. Tank positioning can be a hidden secret to new divers as well as tank sizing vs a std 80 Alum. tank. The fact there is no cummerbund on the Patrol can be a problem for some. Best regards and Good Health with a shot of Ouzo. Bob C
@@DiversSupplyYT I spent 10 years in the Navy we pulled into Crete several times, and I dove there, loved it and want to go back so bad, thanks for all your videos shipmate. AO2
I am looking to replace my very old and beat up BCD with a Cressi Commander EVO or Oceanic Excursion model. I have found the Oceanic model but for some unknown reason I can not find any dealer that has in stock the Commander EVO to look at it. I looked everywhere in Phoenix AZ and in Florida East Coast with no success. Does the Cressi brand has a bad reputation? is the Commander an item the dealers avoid? I am asking since I looked at your video and any input from you is appreciated.
Afternoon Dacon, The Cressi brand is fairly well respected in the diving world, so I don't believe that resellers avoid the Commander. With the high season upon us right now, availability might be a bit of an issue. I just checked, by walking out on the Jax store sales floor, and put my hand on a XS, SM, MD, Lrg and Xlrg Commander on display. Call the 888-999-3483 number and they can drop ship you one of those. Thanks for your note. Bob C
If you would compare the Cressi Commander EVO and Oceanic Excursion BCDs, which one would you say is a better choice for durability, construction, function? I have found the Oceanic Excursion in Phoenix in L size but no Cressi. Most of the dealers do not carry Cressi and look at me sideways when I ask them about it.
I like Cressi stuff, I don't think they get the recognition they deserve in the states. I want to get a Cressi set for travel as Im looking at doing more dive live aboards. Could you do a Video on their Regulators.
