one thing I would do personally is make the height change run in with the lower bungalow flush with the room side of the cavity wall, that way your expansion joint would terminate at soft and gable wall wouldn't be effected.
I write a lot of arboricultural impact assessments and its really useful to see how much space you need around a building for example, we often have to specify heras panels and temporary ground protection positions and some times its hard to know how much space is needed especially if the plan wasnt drawn on cad and weve had to scale of google earth....

Just a little advice please, I'm from Dudley and where I live it's very clayey. I want to build a shed in the back garden. For footings what would you recommend. I want to lay 2 course of bricks for the base. It's more like a summer house the size, which is 3m width by 5m length. Do I need to dig to the clay then hardcore then sand then finish material, could I get away with slabbing instead of concrete?
set up shuttering for 5mx3m dig out 200mm, then have 4 inch of type 1 wacked down then 4 inches of concrete that will be more than enough unless you want hot tubs etc.
What an interesting video, their is more to building than meets the eye. As you run your company and have to do all the measurements, do other brickies have to do the same or do other people do this laying out for them ? Keep up the excellent work and you will soon have Ossey up to Your speed.
It's just site price work you get the work off a brick barron and crack on some gangs might have a ganger but not many on price why would you work for another brickie when you can get the work yrself
Is Ozzy at college at all for Bricklaying or is he just laboring for you and picking up the skills from you teaching him. I only ask as my son is looking at be a bricky's apprentice.
@@greetingsbox4229 problem is the bricks while in packs look straight and true but they aren't , companies usually use the cheapest they can get. I myself would have used a wider jointer but its in no way the bricklayers doing.

A thought ya was fast? 990 bricks on a straight gable shows ya speed with a hoddy spreading and jointed up. If your happy with ya work that’s all that matters
He only spread 1st 3 courses and did you see how hot it was, the muck goes off right away. Got 770 in this morning on the opposite side in 4 hours. The heat kills you off in the afternoon

Bricks must horrendous shapes which you do get of not some amount of lipping
