I guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my password. I love any tricks you can offer me
@Keenan Cristian I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I can’t get enough of Food forest Videos. I started my Food forest after watching Back to Eden. My old traditional annual Vegetable garden (Even though it’s 💯 Organic and Permaculture as well as Planting by the Moon cycles) is truly a head scratcher. So diversity is what I’m aiming for. Each Presenter brings something different to the table. Thankyou for your expertise, time and effort.
I love watching them too! And I am scheming with great plans for our bigger food forest at the next place. It is winter here now and a lot of what we are eating are the perennials or longer term annuals from our food forest, I think it is a great way to grow food
I am really glad my friend sent me this link. I bought your book Dana so that's a start. We now live up in northland and our sloping section was full of gorse and the soil is clay so we have our challenges. Tino pai to mahi, kia ora Dana
Thank you for helping me understand the concept of a food forest! One question I have, is how do you ensure pests/wildlife such as possums and birds don't eat all of the bounty before you harvest it? I'm thinking particularly of tree fruit & berries.
You can throw a bird net over the tree just before the fruit ripen and tie it around the trunk to keep them out. However eventually you will have so much fruit that you won't mind them stealing a few!
@@FantailValleyHomestead i have the same question. if i get dwarf fruit trees, is that easier to manage? I don't want to attract pests as I'll be living in a protected area and there's a real issue with pests taking over bird habitats (ie I prefer they don't take even fruit I don't want).
Think ecosystem, the ultimate goal is to manipulate nature into working for you. Have more fruit than you need. Plant diverse distraction high production food sources that the birds prefer and bear fruit at the same time as your crop. Use the birds to control pest insects. Encourage non pest insects for pest and pollination purposes with flowers that they find attractive.
LOVE THIS! Having my own large property is my dream, but for now I'm learning as much as I can in my backyard garden, while trying to also keep my husband happy by not taking over too much grass :) Where in NZ are you?
Awesome seeing others feature their South Island gardens/lives as it is so different to North Island :) I'm looking forward to continuing to follow your journey :)
Oh thank you :-) Shipping from Amazon is stupidly expensive at the moment - it isn't usually that bad - I presume it has to do with COVID? I tried getting author copies sent and previously shipping was about $10USD now it was about $60USD so I gave up haha
Check out the food forests site here: foodforestplants.co.nz
