The red-eyed baby reminds me of when my crested gecko fell from too high up and burst a blood vessel in his eye. (He's fine now, thankfully!) It's entirely possible this baby received some kind of trauma to his head while hatching. I saw another comment wondering if he tried to squeeze through too small of a hole right away, and that's why his head is swollen.
I believe this may be the case. The red eye baby might squeeze through a small hole. Since it is moving and reacting fine, it is probably not neurological issue.
I cracked up so much when I saw this video because I had just watched the one where the snakes went into brumation yesterday, and Emily said "All the baby videos are out!" And then the next day, whadda' know? Baby video!!
About the odd one, I have a theory. It might have tried to get out through a too small hole, got stuck and kinda strangled itself a little bit, causing the blood to collect in the head, creating blood shot eyes and swelling the head a bit.
I think this is a good theory, the only thing I'm not sure about for that is the underbite but it could still be swelling since they have so much more soft tissue on top
This might be outside the target audience of the channel, but I work in analytics and I would love to see a breeding season in review stats live stream Maybe looking at percentages of successful pairings, how many babies produced, morph percentages etc. Not sure you have gathered those numbers, but if you have it would be cool to see all the stats. Simplynailogical does something similar with new collection launches.
I am really hoping for a ‘breeding wrap up video’ where you compare your plans from the ‘2022 breeding plan’ video and go through how each intended clutch turned out, it would be so interesting!!
Baby videos have always been my favourite! I'm so glad there have been so many this year! And based on the Brumation Video, I can tell the next one will be the same 😍
@@lyn_373 These videos are back dated a couple of months. All the breeding snakes have been put into winter brumation already for 2023 breeding. Amazing how many egg/baby videos we’ve had this season as compared to previous seasons. We’re getting awfully close to the 2023 breeding season and 2022 pairings are still going strong
I don't know why. But the Egg hatching video's have ALWAYS been my absolute favorite thing to watch on this channel! I've watched several multiple times. They are my go to videos when I feel sick and need a distraction.
I’ve been watching this channel for at least 3 years and I own a hog nose and a rosy boa. I can’t explain how much I’ve learned from this channel, how great of a podcasts these videos make, and again I’ve learn so much. I’ve learned how to care for my snakes because of you. You are so entertaining and helpful, all the snakes you hatch are adorable and lucky!!! Thank you for being amazing!!! 💖🐍🌎
I know that my comment will probably get buried but I just wanted to say a thank you to Emily and Ed. I discovered their channel by accident a little over a year ago I think now (maybe less, honestly), and I’ve binged many videos. From when Rex was still a messy roommate to the building of the facility to creature move in day all the way to now. Ed and Emily, if you actually read this, I’m very proud of you for your hard work and dedication to what you do. I love reptiles, particularly snakes, and watching how genuinely happy and excited and overall just how much you love what you do makes me so so happy. I’m unable to visit you in person as I live in Oregon, but I hope one day I can meet you all in person! Wishing only the best for you! And just to throw it out there, my mom’s petrified of snakes but if she wasn’t or if I lived elsewhere (I’m 22 so I could if I was financially independent), I’d definitely go with getting a hognose or two.
I live in Oregon too, Portland area. Yep -- your comment won't get read by the Snake Discovery crew, but I read it, and think you are very kind. I have a hankering to get bull snakes. But I have other indoor animals who may be less keen on the idea. You are a good person, nice comment. Very pleasant to read.
Omg that'd be the world's longest video 🤣🤣 I wonder how many they really have in total. I know it fluctuates obviously due to purchases but I bet even their minimum is probably over 500 😳😳
