Its a true story. The URI strike led by the Indian army special forces happened on September 2016.

@@sagnikchatterjee8122 yes bro you are absolutely right the first surgical strike was done in 1971 by the 9th para SF, this operation was named as operation mandhol, in this operation the two squads of 9th para SF containing 6 commandos in each squad destroyed Pakistan's artillery by pencil bombs.

Indian army is highly regarded in many countries and specially in Italy and Israel. After world war 2 when Indian Army took control of italy along with Australian, Canadaian and British soldiers then Indian army protected Italian women from being raped and children from getting killed by the allied forces. There were many instances when Indian soldiers fired warning shots to its own alied forces when they were doing human rights violations. Jerusalem and Haifa was liberated by Indian Army. We defeated Italians in their home.

The film is a bit liberal adaptation of actual events around Uri and India's surgical strikes that followed, but it is still a commendable movie. We await an even better movie on surprise Balakot air strikes that dug a hole in the terrorist activities supported by enemy state with clinical military precision.
