Lunchtime Lecture - The Future of the Church of Ireland - Archbishop of Dublin & Canon Tom O’Brien

- There will be a lunchtime lecture at 1.10pm. in St Ann's.
The talk will be given by The Archbishop of Dublin Michael Jackson and Canon Tom O’Brien (Crinken).
The title of their talk is The Future of the Church of Ireland.
It will be fascinating to hear their observations, reflections, and their vision for the future.
Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
Two excellent speakers. Thank you. A pity not more people heard this in person on the day. Unfortunately the sound system was not great, but on youtube we have the advantage of play back. Inspiring and thought provoking. Enabling people to connect with real presence of Jesus, coming to know his love, thus being transformed by it for the joy of his Kingdom family is the collective mission of all disciples. If we keep our eyes set on Jesus, the Holy Spirit will guide our every thought and movement. For we are his and he is ours, we are one, each of us born to serve, be that as a cog, a wheel or a loving voice. I remember hearing a revered minister once say: As disciples of Jesus we are called to be both BAD and MAD, "Brave Adventurous & Daring", . . . and "Make A Difference" in mission. We can thread preserving all that is best in tradition, with being energetic and enthusiastic about Jesus incredible mission and boundless love.
There is no reason why you cannot open some of your church halls up for the homeless people to sleep in at night you have a kitchen in the church you have toilets in the church they only need a couple of blankets and a pillow and they're off the streets.
Not sure about "echoey" On my computer I couldn't hear a word said by the Archbishop. Other speakers were clear.
Interesting but might want to look at microphone placement. It was very easy to hear every word from Canon O'Brien but the Archbishop's voice sounded "echoey". Is that even a word?
